Project Diva PSP Edit Mode Guide #2
Welcome to my Edit Mode guide series! I recommend you start from Guide #1 if this is the first guide you see for some reason.
This guide covers PPSSPP settings you can configure and how to prepare your mp3 files to import into the game.
Configuring PPSSPP
Launch the game and confirm that you can load the imported save file.
For the most part, the default settings are enough to run the game properly.
Using Free Camera Cheats
Check the “Enable cheats” setting in PPSSPP while you are in the game. This will create an file in 「 memstick / PSP / CHEATS 」 named ULJM05681.ini (2nd) or NPJH50465.ini (Extend) depending on your game. Alternatively, you can move an existing ini file with cheat codes in them into the CHEATS folder.
Open the ini file in Notepad and copy & paste the lines of code below depending on your game. Save the ini file.
Press the “Pause” key while ingame (ESC by default), open your list of cheats and enable the free camera cheats.
Project Diva 2nd

Project Diva Extend

The last code was created by me, so I have decided to label it as “TESTING”. If you encounter any problems using this particular code, especially ones you can reproduce, then please notify me.
Entering Lyrics Through Keyboard (Windows Only)
The PPSSPP on-screen text input is very clunky and limited, so here is how you can enter lyrics (as well as song titles and edit names) through a simple text box:
Go to「memstick / PSP / SYSTEM」and find the ppsspp.ini file, OR if you have selected “Create game config” for your game, find the ini file that corresponds to your game instead (ULJM05681 for 2nd and NPJH50465 for Extend)
Open the ini file using Notepad and look for the setting line that says 「 BypassOSKWithKeyboard = False 」
Change “False” to “True” and save the ini file.
Afterwards, when you select the option to input lyrics, a text box will show up that you can type, select text, and paste on. Note that lyrics have a limit of 19 characters (typing anything longer will cut off the excess text) and incompatible characters/symbols will be replaced with question marks.
Preparing Your MP3 File
Creating the PPSSPP Music Folder
If you haven’t already, go to your memstick folder and create a new folder labeled “MUSIC”. This is where all your imported MP3s go to.
Though mp3 files downloaded from Youtube are most likely safe for use in Edit Mode, let’s import these files into the the audio editor Audacity to do one thing:
Determining the Start Position
Tumblr media
Zoom in and click your cursor to where the first beat starts (not where the song itself starts) and note down the time on the “Audio Position” section. This is important information to know later to make sure your entire PV is in sync with the music.
Exporting as MP3 (Constant Bit Rate)
As I said before, mp3 files downloaded from Youtube will most likely be safe for Edit Mode, but if you want to make a game-safe copy, make sure your Project Rate is set to 44100Hz and export as an MP3 (if using Audacity, with LAME encoder installed) using these settings:
Tumblr media
I recommend changing the file name to the name you want to have show in Edit Mode.
Once the mp3 is in the MUSIC folder, it is ready for use with PPSSPP.
This marks the end of Guide #2. Move on to Guide #3 where we will finally get into the game and start a new Edit Mode project.
