"What happened?" She asks, walking into the crowded room. Spencer's sitting on the edge of the bed, Morgan's sitting on the chair and Hotch is standing. "I'm Doctor L/n." She introduces herself to them as an afterthought.

Spencer smiles at her voice, pointing to the cut on his forehead. "Someone tried to mess up my pretty face."

She laughs as she turns away to get some gloves. "Well, they didn't succeed." She assures him. "I am going to have to stitch it up, though, so keep your head still."

She grabs what she needs to stitch the sutures into his open wound, standing in between his legs in a way that she wouldn't with any other patient. Spencer, on the other hand, acts professionally and keeps his hands on his thighs.

"So what actually happened?" She asks instead of waiting until they get home.

"I got hit in the back of the head by an unsub and fell into a glass mirror." Spencer answers.

Y/n's eyes widen, but she's happy he's there and only slightly hurt. Being thrown into a mirror could do a lot worse. "Sounds like 7 years of bad luck to me." She says jokingly.

"I don't know." He disagrees. "I think I'm pretty lucky, but I can try it out if it'll help with your assessment."

"Mm, okay." She agrees, carefully working on his face.

"Do you have a boyfriend?" He asks.

Morgan and Hotch's eyes snap to each other, exchanging odd looks as they both silently wonder whether or not Spencer has a concussion because he has never been that flirty. In all the years they've known him, a question like that or one with those implications has never come out of his mouth.

"I'm married, actually." She answers.

"So I'm going to have to wait out my 7 years of bad luck before asking you out?" He wonders with a pout.

Morgan holds a hand over his open mouth, and Hotch starts worrying they're about to have to deal with a sexual harassment lawsuit.

But she laughs, and not like she's trying to politely shut him down. "I don't know. I'm kind of fond of him."

"I'm going to go see if the rest of the team is here." Morgan awkwardly says, getting out of his chair and leaving the three of them in the room.

"Okay, I think you're good." She says, finishing off the tidy stitch. "Did they check you for a concussion?"

Hotch takes his chance to defend Spencer before he says something unusually stupid. "No, he could have one- he probably has one. He's not usually like this."

She nods, taking off her gloves. "Any memory loss, nausea, unconsciousness, confusion, headaches?" She lists to both of them.

"None of that." Spencer denies. "But I did want to ask if I could take you out on a date."

"Yes, lots of behavioral change," Hotch answers for him.

Y/n looks sternly at her husband. "I won't hesitate to send you for a CT scan." She threatens although she knows he's teasing her because his eidetic memory is working perfectly. It also hilarious to see him freaking his boss out.

"Please, if you're going to come with me." He flirts.

She shakes her head with a little smile, pulling away from him. "Sorry, I've got other patients to see. Do you need anything else?"

He stops short of asking for a kiss. "Just some jello, please."

"Because you used your manners, I'll bring you two." She agrees before leaving the room.

"You don't need jello for one stitch and a few bruises," Hotch tells him once he's sure she's out of earshot.

Spencer shakes his head. "I mean, I should at least stay to say goodbye."

Morgan catches everyone else up as they walk through the hospital and towards Spencer's room. "He was flirting with her. Like actively hitting on her, trying to get her to go out with him."

"We've got to see this." JJ agrees, nods coming from everyone else.

"Wait." Morgan stops them, gesturing to Y/n, who's talking to a nurse. "Her."

They look more surprised then than they did when Morgan informed them of Spencer's odd behavior. "She was flirting with Reid?" Rossi asks in disbelief.

"I'm going to go check myself in," Emily declares, earning a chuckle from the rest of them.

They watch as she walks toward Spencer's room with jello cups. "He's not even getting admitted," JJ says, shaking her head in disbelief. "She's definitely into him."

"Go and watch them flirt. It's disgusting." Morgan says, and the irony is not lost on any of them.

She's spoon-feeding him the jello when they walk into the room like he's got broken hands. "Hey, guys, this is Doctor L/n." Spencer introduces them.

"And I'm guessing she doesn't treat all of her patients like this," Hotch mutters loud enough to have them all laughing.

another tiring day was done for heeseung. he opens the door of his apartment, going inside and closing it as he puts his bag on the side as he opens it, pulling his lab gown out. he goes to the bathroom where his dirty laundry is, tossing the lab gown there. he goes to the kitchen, grabbing some leftovers and heating it up.

when it was done, he pulls it out of the microwave and a knock comes. he sighs, walking to the door and opening it. and there you are, standing in front of him as you fiddle with your fingers. “hi,” you softly greet and heeseung wants nothing but to tell you to go. 

it has been five years after jay’s wedding. one year after he finally saw you again after six years of waiting for you. heeseung was happy, really happy. until he learned that you can’t stay. you were only there for two days. jay’s wedding and then the day after it, then by midnight, it’s your flight to go back.

heeseung understood. you had to prove to your parents that you being a florist didn’t go nowhere. he was the one who always encouraged you, it would be hypocritical if he asks you to stay back for him.

but he hated this.

in the five years that you two saw each other again, you’d come home for the holidays but only stay for two or three days. you and heeseung decided it would be complicated to have a relationship. but it wasn’t as complicated as this. you’d always go to him and spend the days you have with him until you have to go back. there was no commitment

it hurt heeseung that he’s always there to welcome you back and let you dump him in the next 24 hours. you wouldn’t even text him when you’re already back there safe. 

but what can he do? he’s in love with you.

so here he is, wordlessly, he cups your jaw as he presses his lips against yours. you place your hands on his wrists, kissing him back. heeseung was hurt. back then, you’d know what’s in his kind with one glance, but now, you’d stare at him for as long as you want, but you don’t even notice he’s hurting.

or maybe you do. you just don’t want to let him go.

he pulls away, pulling you into his arms as you wrap your arms around his waist. “when’s your flight?” heeseung asks right away. the first time this happened, heeseung always looked forward to it. he didn’t know it would hurt this much.

“midnight, tomorrow.” you softly answer and heeseung closes his eyes, tightening his hold on you. you did, too. 

you do know. you know heeseung’s hurting, but you were too selfish. after finally being with him again after six years, you didn’t want to go back, so you settled for this. but you can’t just give everything up. 

but it was no denying, you want to stay with him.

the night was great, as heeseung pulled you inside, you two went through his pantry to look for stuff to eat other than his leftovers. 

“i told you to eat well. you’re a doctor yet you don’t take care of yourself.” you softly say and heeseung softly chuckles, smiling at you. you softly bite on your lip, staring at him.

softly, you sigh, dusting your hands together as you face heeseung. “wanna talk?” you ask and he nods. you hold your hands out to him and he softly gives his hands. “i’m sorry.”

“for?” he asks.

“everything.” you mumble and he looks at you. “firstly, not telling you right away. second, not letting you explain that night. third, coming back to give you false hope. fourth, for making you wait for nothing and i act like i could just come back to you everytime.”

“where is this going?” he softly asks and you raise an eyebrow, forcing a smile. heeseung closes his eyes, nodding. “y/n, it’s okay—”

“heeseung,” you softly cut him off and he looks at you. “it’s not. it never was.” you say and you chuckle humorlessly. “i was selfish, i’m sorry. but i just… i don’t see myself with anyone else, and i always crave you, hee.”

“me, too.” he says, chucking as tears pool in his eyes. “remember, i told you? it’s you or no one.”

you nod, sighing. “you know that i really want to stay for you—”

“as if i will let you.” he says, shaking his head. “you’ve been working your ass off since college. i know how much this means to you and i’m not letting you give everything up just for me.”

you chuckle, nodding. “i’m sorry for not doing this earlier. i…” you softly trail off. “i think we should stop this.”

heeseung nods. “i don’t want to, but it needs to be stopped.” he says and you nod. 

you sigh, looking up as you prevent your tears. “i’m gonna go.” you mumble and heeseung tightens his hold on your hands. 

“just until your flight?” he offers and you sigh, nodding as you go around the table, sitting on his lap as you wrap your arms around his neck. heeseung wraps his arms around your waist as he presses his lips on your temple.

it always felt like this, time always going fast when you’re having such a good time. and you’re always happy with heeseung, it felt like it was just a minute. 

heeseung pulls up in front of the entrance, putting the signal on that he will be staying for a little bit. he pushes his car door open, going straight to the trunk to get your bag out.

you climb off his car, weakly pushing it close as you go to him. wordlessly, you wrap your arms around his torso as he sighs, wrapping his own arms around you. “seungie,” you softly whimper as you rest your head on his chest. 

heeseung presses his lips against your forehead. “yeah, flower?” he says and you sigh.

“please ask me to stay.” you say and he sighs, grabbing your wrists as he pulls away from you. 

“i can’t do that to you.” he says, shaking his head. “you’re living your dream, proving the people who doubted you wrong. i’m really proud of you, i’m happy for you.”

“but i’m not with you.” you say and he sighs.

“i know.” he says. “i’m not with you. it’s hard, but what can we do?”

“i’ll st—”

heeseung cuts you off by pressing his lips against yours. you kiss him back as he softly pulls away, pulling you in a hug again as he presses his lips against your shoulder. “please, seungie.” you softly say and he shakes his head.

“this is it, i’m sorry. i’m not letting you stay.” heeseung says, putting your bag in your hand. “you should go.” he says, pulling away as he takes a step back from you. “i love you, flower.”

you sigh, nodding. “i love you, too, seungie.” you say as you turn around to go inside. heeseung resist himself from chasing you and telling you to stay with him. when he sees you turning around to look at him, he immediately turns away and runs to his car, climbing in. 

you let your tears fall, going inside the airport to catch your flight. heeseung drives home, calming himself down. he had to. after all, he loves you.

Favorite place in the world you’ve visited?

Mt. Etna. When I was little (like, 3rd grade) we lived in Sicily, and one winter my brother and I wanted desperately to play in the snow, but it hadn't snowed where we lived in a long time. So we took a drive up Etna until we saw snow, where we stopped and spent the day playing around in it. (It was later that there was a horrible eruption that caused a bad earthquake where we lived, but I sleep like Nixon so I was dead to the world throughout the event.)

Something you’re proud of yourself for?

Making it through fire academy. Other than playing basketball one year in childhood I had never been very athletic, but I was out there doing bleacher runs, blackout drills, and climbing ladders to drag giant hoses to the top of buildings with the rest of them. I'm driven by the desire to not make an ass out of myself in front of others, and somehow I was able to do all those things, and ultimately participate in a live burn at the end of the program.

Favorite books?

Making my way through the books written by and about the troopers, so I gotta go with Band of Brothers. But my other favorites are anything by Kurt Vonnegut, the Dark Tower series, the Black Company series, Les Miserables, Moby Dick, Practical Demonkeeping (and almost anything by Christopher Moore), Hitchhiker's Guide...I'm sure I'm leaving some out, I love to read (Dick Tracy and Flash Gordon mostly...I couldn't resist).

Something that makes your heart happy when thinking about it?

When did you join the HBO War fandom? What was the first show you watched?

It was a long road.......it came out when my family was stationed in Japan, so I didn't really know about it until I moved back. Streaming wasn't a thing then, so I would catch parts here and there, and I eventually figured I had seen the whole thing. Spent a long time thinking that people overreacted to it and that it was overrated. But I'm also leaving out one thing: that I am stupid. Figured my sister would appreciate having seen it, and suggested we watch it. I realized at the end of the first episode just how stupid I am.

Have you read any of Easy Company’s books? If so, which ones were your favorite?

I have a growing collection, but work often gets in the way. I've only read Ambrose's Band of Brothers. I've also read the Smokey portion of A Company of Heroes by Marcus Brotherton.

Favorite HBO War character and your favorite moment with them?

Have I mentioned how much I love Smokey yet.... One of his best moments (I think) is when he meets with Roe in Bastogne in his foxhole and gives him the morphine, tells him where to find scissors, and about Toye's boots.

Also McClung. And I love "ask him to dance, doc." The battle on the outskirts of Carentan has to be one of my favorite parts of the series though.

Do you make content for any fandoms, if so; what sort of content?

Just some gifs so far. I do like to write, but I've never dabbled in fanfiction.

Favorite actor/actress and your favorite film of theirs?

Russell Crowe and Michael Fassbender are the ones where I'll pretty much watch anything as long as one of them is in it, even if it's bad (like Jonah Hex...horrible movie, but worth it to see Fassbender's little villain character doing his little tee-hee leprechaun laugh through all his scenes). I'll also watch almost anything with Emily Blunt, she is fantastic and a hilarious human being.

Favorite quote/s that you wish to share with others?

So many by Kurt Vonnegut, but I'll just put two:

Do you like horror movies?

Yup. 28 Days Later is up there in my favorites. The Descent is an EXCELLENT horror movie for anyone that hasn't seen it (and has made it this far down my rambling answers). Ravenous isn't very well known, and it's not perfect, but it's fun and weird. Stir of Echoes is an unconventional horror movie, but an excellent one-off story. Slither is a fun one with a decent cast (Elizabeth Banks, Nathan Fillion, Michael Rooker, among others).

I didn't want to put this in the replies of your post, but a DM seems too ~familiar~ so your ask box it is 😅

I've been on Wellbutrin (well, the generic version) for about three years now (?) for my persistent depression and general anxiety. It's treated me really well, but meds aren't necessarily one size fits all. It took me about a year and a half to find a dosage I was happy with - and even now I have to take an additional (super low dose) sedative to go to sleep.

As far as side effects, I mostly deal with just dry mouth which can escalate to a sore throat, but nothing major. I did recently find out that it very easily could be the reason why I have problems regulating my body temperature, so that's fun.

It's enabled me to go from barely functioning because of my depression, to mostly functioning despite my depression.

I'm not trying to sell you on it or anything, just ease your mind some. And I'm not a medical professional, so you should definitely discuss it with your doctor because your needs might have changed between when it was prescribed to you and now.

(literally my email was like "i'd love to talk to u about the wellbutrin suggestion u gave me a couple months ago!" and she was like "OK i ordered for u" ..........i was like HUH?????? NO APPOINTMENT OR NOTHING???

and all the pharmacist told me was like "make sure to take it in the morning!" and i was like "that's it?" and she was like "yep :)" LMFAOOO)

this turned out longer than i expected so i’m putting it under the read more 👍

okok so starting off with Sol, they were my dnd character for the campaign i was in (but didn’t finish) last year. they’re a changeling bard paladin with a funny little curse (more on that in a second). i didn’t get to play as them for half the time cause they got kidnapped by one of the BBEGs and was forced to fight the rest of their party. now the curse was basically if they touch rain, they kinda get possessed by the gods of water, Forte. it’s basically a whole thing where their mom lost a bet to him and he ended up cursing her but the curse went kinda wrong and backfired on him.

then there’s Michael, who’s the character i’m using for a new campaign in the same universe as Sol. he’s the kinda guy to steal stuff so he could get his family’s attention. he’s a half siren paladin, his father is a sailor and his mom is a siren, but he doesn’t know who is mom is. he also has a twin brother he doesn’t know about, but i cant say much more due to lore reasons but he and Sol are at a tie for my favorite oc right now.

I also cant say much about Clio for lore reasons, but Clio and Michael knew each other at one point and they don’t like each other that much.

both Mari and Emmaline were characters i created while listening to Cannibal by tally hall. Mari is a vampire, and Emmaline is a half-vampire and formerly a human.

the whole half-vampire thing is like she was bitten by a vampire, but she was able to get treatment for it pretty quickly so instead of dying, she kinda gained an immunity to it. she still has some vampiric qualities like sharp teeth and is more nocturnal, but she doesn’t need to drink blood or anything.

anyways, so Emmaline’s family kinda has this curse on them where they are being hunted down and killed by this family of vampires, aka Mari’s family. now neither person knew this at the time so they started dating, but Mari’s parent did eventually find out, and started trying get her to kill Emmaline. so eventually she does cave in and goes to kill Emmaline, biting her and leaving her to bleed out. however she does get treatment for it like i said before and then just continues on with her life. she also kinda dedicates her life to becoming a vampire hunter, and kinda goes on a goth arc.

and finally, Davey, my beloved pyromaniac guitarist. i just created hee so she doesn’t have much of a story, but she’s a law student in a band who killed her ex-partner for cheating on her. then she frames the person who they were cheating on her with, offers to represent the person in court to appear less suspicious, and then proceeds to lose the case causing the person to go to jail for a while. she didn’t even mean to lose the case ironically, but it still happened so womp womp. she and Emmaline end up dating and they’re actually happy together so yippee

finally my abundance of furinas..... this goes without saying but i love my furi so much partly because of my inherent genshin spin but i actually Understand now and i love you... the stim board is bc i thought it would be fun to make one for her and it was ! she is so you like the teatime aesthetic and her love of cakes and i incorporated both so i hope you likeys.... even though im not good with stims i think it looks okay and i gave a bonus neuvi as well. tee hee. talking about the poem a bit i wrote that like the same day oz assigned me to you because i was so excited and that morning i listened to la vaguelette for the first time and i came up with that. because you said i can gift whatever else and i was thinking the only other thing in my arsenal is writing (art too but i have been terribly unmotivated on that end ....) i have not yet properly gone through fontaine or her story and of course it is Your feelings but i tried to put that into pretty words as well, plus i made my qpp and my best friend read through it first and they both liked it so i hope you will too... smile. the gfx set i was gonna make from the start but it took a couple days of inspiration-gathering, and i was thinking how we talked about like. how you like working with colours but struggle with like creating a design like making from a blank canvas but i do love making designs so i put my whole mind into the set and i really like what came out of it !! these are just tumblr gfxs that you just stare at and not use but regardless i really hope you enjoysies everything, i love you so much!!!

Love to Hate You (2023)

This was a really fun rom-com that kind of slid under the radar this year. While the premise seems a little contrived (like something from a webtoon), by the end of the first episode, I was willing to just go along with it and enjoy the romp, instead of thinking too deeply about it.

What Worked

The series is short and moves pretty quick with few wasted scenes. The writing is confident, and the two leads are fun to watch, with alot of good chemistry. It felt more like watching an extended movie rather than your typical drama, but I liked the change of pace.

I especially enjoyed hearing Mi-ran's take on just about anything. You rarely get a character with such a clear, straightforward voice in a drama, especially from a female character, and it was nice. Like all good comedy, there's a point being made behind all the jokes (especially the stuff coming from Mi-ran), but it rarely leaned too hard into the point it was making. Show never forgot to be funny.

What Didn't Work

You have to accept alot of things if you want to watch this drama. That Mi-ran is just naturally good at everything. That Kang-ho is so broken up over this one bad relationship that he's willing to just take it out on every woman he comes across. That there's basically only one law firm in all of Korea that handles this kind of celebrity nonsense, etc. Again, I went along with it because it was part of the story. But I also read books where elves and vampires and stuff are real so maybe I'm not the best judge of this.

Side rant: the thing that really let this show down is the marketing. They just didn't know how to get across how funny this show is, and the people writing their synopsis did not have a clue. Also, the two leads (and most of the cast) are so pretty, and they somehow fail to get that across in the promotional materials I've seen. That feels like an epic failure.

The Performances

Kim Ok-bin as "super attorney" Yeo Mi-ran. It's obvious how much fun the actor was having with this role, and I enjoyed watching her throw herself into the part. There was a little depth to the character, especially with her family dynamics, but there was also alot of physicality going on and you could tell that was Ok-bin's favorite moments. The only weakness was that we didn't get as much time seeing her do her lawyer thing too. There was enough there (especially since it was only 10 episodes), but a little more would be nice.

Teo Yoo as "super actor" Oh Se-na. I enjoyed this actor in Past Lives but it was nice seeing him do more in this role, especially with the comedy. I also liked his relationship with Do Won-jun. It could have devolved into some kind of unfunny "no-homo" antics, but it never did. It was good seeing two men be close and supportive of each other.

Kim Ji-hoon as "manager bestie" Do Won-jun. I liked what they did with this character. Every interaction with the crazy actors was fun to watch (though not fun for the character, probably), and had some funny moments. It all helped make his relationship with the one "normal" character in the show seem more believable. Won-jun had enough drama in his job, he didn't need any in his love life.

Go Won-hee as "flight attendant bestie" Shin Na-eun. I liked the way the actor played this character, though she was written to be a little passive. I think the story they gave her, including the love line with Won-jun was good, though they didn't have the chemistry the two leads had to make it as fun to watch. It's one of those things where if they had more time to develop it, it probably would have been better.

Kim Sungyryung as "actress unnie" Choi Soo-jin. This character was so much fun to watch and the actor did a great job with the role. I would have loved a few more scenes with her, but there wasn't enough time.

Song Ji-woo as "newbie actress" Hwang Ji-ye. I know we're meant to dislike this character, and that she's meant to be kind of a mediocre talent, but I would have been happy enough to have her completely disappear after the first couple episodes. The actor did okay with the stuff they gave her, but some of it felt unnecessary.

Lee Joo-bin as "eternal ex-girlfriend" Oh Se-na. This actress played this exact same kind of role in She Would Never Know. And she did a good job with what she was given, but I wish they had given her more. They keep acting like the character did a terrible thing, but they never said (or showed) what it was, and they could have.

Choi Yoon-so as Grace. Who was this mystery producer? What was her relationship with the leads really about? I wanted to know more, and they never gave it to me. Is that on the actor's performance, making a nothing character seem interesting, or was I just expecting more? I guess I'll never know.

The crazy lawyer brigade. I had fun watching these guys, but I'm glad they chose to use them in moderation. Except maybe the Ex-boyfriend Lawyer, we still got too much of him.

Mi-ran's parents. The actors did a good job showing how messed up her relationship with her father was. I was happy with the amount of them that we got, though I did enjoy the mother's extra appearances (played by Kim Ye-ryeong).

The action movie gang. This was the most fun to watch, including the director who never spoke, paired up with the stuntman who never shut up. Way more interesting than the law firm stuff and I think it'd be fun to see what they might have done with a longer series.

TL; DR:

This show is a fun romp that you can't take too seriously.

My new year resolution was to work on music and art stuff. I’ve been having roller coaster good and bad days, so I was so happy I stuck to this and finished!

I’m gonna get a PS5 for ME. Saving, of course but I haven’t gotten something JUST FOR ME in a while. I’ve always had to have an excuse for something else attached to it. Not just cause I want it. I want it, so I’m gonna get it this time. I thought hard about this, since I’m paying down debt. So…yeah. It’s Gonna be pink! 💕

Welcome to the world of kdrama whump part 4!

Oh wow how am I at part 4 already? But I keep finding new kdramas and I keep finding new whump in them so here I am! Let’s just get right to it shall we? If you want to see the other 3 parts you can find them here: part 1, part 2, part 3

Period Drama:

1. Rookie Historian Goo Hae Ryung ( 신입사관 구해령)

So first up on this list is a really cute period drama that is packed with so much of funny scenes and also really serious stuff. It’s set in the 19th century and it’s about a female historian Goo Hae Ryung and how she becomes a historian and we also learn about prince Lee Rim and he’s a writer in secret! and it’s got quite a bit of mystery too which I quite liked. and Cha Eun Woo is really great in this along with Shin Se Kyung.

2. The King Eternal Monarch ( 더 킹: 영원의 군주)

Ah, this one. I almost didn’t add it to the list because i wasn’t happy with the way it was written. but whump and cinematogaphy wise, this show is so good! (plus wdh + whump never disappoins). So it’s set in a parallel world to ours in the ‘Kingdom of Corea and it revolves around a plot to murder the royal family but the prince survives and goes on to be the king in current day Corea. but some how, with the use of Manpasikjeok which is like a supernatural flute, they can travel between worlds, (between the Kingdom of Corea and The Republic of South Korea). So the story focuses on the king and a mysterious person who saves him on the night the king dies. Pretty interesting concept, could have been executed better but oh well. It was pretty funny and intertaining for the most part.

Action:

1. Two Cops ( 투깝스)

Oh this show is so good too! It’s about a detective who is trying to solve a case and then catches the guy he was after but then somehow the guys spirit ends up possessing (but in a funny way, it’s not scary) the detectives body and so they need to work together to solve the case which starts to get complicated. There’s whump for both the characters and it’s pretty goood!

2. My Secret Terius ( 내 뒤에 테리우스)

My Secret Terius is so fun! and so cute but also really dramatic. It starts off with the lead loosing her husband and a mysterious man who lives next door to her. He’s basically a NIS agent and he’s got a lot of back story which you will find out throughout the show. And then Go Ae-Rin (the lead lady) discovers that there was some conspiracy to her husbands death and they work together to solve the mystery all while fighting other bad guys too..

Also, the kids in this show are super cute. Here they are trying to help Kim Bon heal after he was rescued.

3. Flower of Evil ( 악의 꽃)

Available on Viu and Netflix

One of my top 3 kdramas from 2020 i think! So this one is about Baek Hee Song and he’s married to a detective and they have a cute little daughter! and Baek Hee Song is like the perfect guy but in reality he had a lot of secrets and he’s been living under someone else’s name and his wife doesn’t even know. So his past slowly comes to light all while his wife is figuring out a case that may or may not involve him. It was pretty intense but also really intersting and Lee Joon Gi whump never disappoints, just look at this gif XD 

Angst and Melodrama Family:

1. 18 Again ( 18 어게인)

Available on Netflix and Viu

So, if you’re in the mood for some heartfelt kdrama with lots of tears and lots of heartwarming moments, this is definitely the show for you. I don’t think I made it through any of the episodes without crying. So this is actually based of the American movie 17 again! It follows the same premise of our main guy (Hong Dae Young) getting turned into an 18 year old kid and him and his wife are on the verge of a divorce. But there’s so much more with how they struggle as young parents, to their relationships with everyone and their jobs. Everything about this was so good! (If you watch/watched this come yell about it with me. I can’t stop talking about it)

2.  It’s Okay to Not Be Okay ( 사이코지만 괜찮아)

I think this was one of the top kdramas for 2020 and rightly so because it’s so good! aside from some flaws it had a really great storyline and talks alot about mental health/traumas. So this is about a guy who is a psychiatric nurse and he has a brother who he takes care of. The story also focuses on a children’s book writer who has antisocial personality disorder and how they make it through life esp with all the trauma they’ve faced. It’s such a pretty show with a pretty decent storyline and of course some nice whump throughout. You should definitely check it out.

Supernatural:

1. Bring It On Ghost ( 싸우자 귀신아)

I didn’t think i was going to like this because it seemed kinda of scary and I don’t do well with horror. But this show was so good! It was a little scary but it was also really funny at the same time. It’s the story about a girl who dies and becomes a ghost so she’s wandering around. Then she meets an exorcist and becaomes friends with Bong Pal. They, together with the help of two uni friends go around fighting ghost and sending them away. It’s kinda like a kickass ghost fighting club with a little bit of mystery added it. So of course you can imagine that there will be whump :D

2. The Uncanny Counter ( 경이로운 소문)

I think this has been recommended a few times here but I had to include it officially in this list. So this is about a group of people called Counters who hunt down evil spirits and they all have some kind of abilities. Then this high school kid, So Mun, ends up becoming one of them through certain events that take place and he’s some how involved in one of the cases that the counters are involved in. This show has everything I love! Found family, best friend trios, action as well as humour. It just finished airing too! Good stuff.

2020 End of Year Post - kdrama edition

It’s been a pretty lackluster kdrama year. There are probably only 5 kdramas I truly loved and only three of them I was really obsessed over. Better luck in 2021!

DRAMAS WATCHED

(In order of liking from least to most as opposed to pure quality; I am including if I’ve seen enough to make up my mind; yes I realize that’s inaccurate, but that’s my list)

42 Born Again - so bad, so incoherent, so insane, I have no idea why the leads signed up for it (and unlike some of the other watchers, I think it was awful from the very start.) There is literally nothing about this drama that makes sense.

41 Love with Flaws - a bunch of people who should be tried under the Geneva Convention.

40 Sweet Munchies - Jung Il Woo proves his inability to pick a functional script.

39 Meow the Secret Boy - if you ever wanted to bang a cat, this drama is for you. Not being a furry, however...

38 Do Do Sol Sol La Sol - I lost braincells just typing out this title.

37 When I Was the Most Beautiful - the only way it’s not the dumbest, most pointless melo of 2020 is because Born Again considerately came out the same year.

36 Woman of 9.9 Billion - if you want to watch an artsy French movie about miserable people, but only badly made, boy do I have a drama for you.

35 Lies after Lies - screams after screams.

34 Backstreet Rookie - people were up in arms about various problematic plots. I am a survivor of many plots much more problematic but even I couldn’t survive how utterly boring and annoying this drama was and how utterly irritating the leads were. This has taken Ji Chang Wook off my top favorites into “should I even check his latest Lovestruck in the City? Probably not” territory almost single-handedly (Melt Me helped, to be fair.)

33 Men Are Men - boring is boring.

32 Dinner Mate - two beautiful boring people eat out a lot.

31 Was It Love - no it wasn’t.

30 Alice - Joo Won in the shower can make up for a multitude of sins but not plot nonsense of such magnitude. When you find yourself thinking it would be better if he hooked up with the alternate universe version of his mother because at least then something entertaining would happen, you know it’s bad.

29 More than Friends - started out OK, then made me hate basically everyone and kept going.

28 Start-Up - honestly, it’s probably more decent than its place here, but the toxic and batshit fandom for it (the worst this year) made me feel like breaking out in hives any time it’s even mentioned.

27 The Spies who Loved Me - how to take a good cast and waste it.

26 Private Lives - it was good but it never took off with its concept and spent more time on the incoherent plot than the OTP which was its one strength. It’s a decent drama but coming after Heartless City and My Beautiful Bride from the same writer, it’s a disappointment.

25 Record of Youth - as high as it is due to Park Bo Gum hard carrying this entire awful drama on his shoulders and doing it so well I finished it. Alas, while he is in one drama (and that drama is great), the rest of the characters and the entirety of the script are a pointless useless mess.

24 Do You Like Brahms - excellent first third, mediocre middle, and terrible last third. I don’t know what musical term applies to this? Diminuendo, I think.

12 Itaewon Class - Park Seo Joon hard carries a drama that is already excellent. Love it.

11 Psychopath Diary - Yoon Shi Yoon is such a treat in a hilarious, cynical, dark comedy.

10 Kairos - more like ouroboros.

9 Queen Love and War - in a year where sageuks are very rare, this was solid and surprisingly moving and shippy.

8 The King Eternal Monarch - people didn’t like it but I did. It’s no masterpiece and both the leads and the writers have better dramas, but it was a lovely romantic fairy tale for me.

7 Mr. Queen - sharp, hilarious, and some of my favorite actors.

6 Psycho But It’s OK - healing, sharp cinematography and even sharper chemistry.

5 Crash Landing on You - the last ep pissed me off so much this drama is dead to me but I loved it so much until then I can’t place it lower in good conscience.

4 Train - who knew I would go this hard for an OCN drama or that OCN would do romance so well? But this time-travel mystery romance is just incredible and I shipped the OTP and rooted for the characters and loved every last bit of it.

3 Run On - this is the drama Record of Youth wanted to be but failed. Smart and lived in, you feel like you are peeking at real people, but also even four episodes in, I am so invested in the main characters separately and together, and care for them so much, it’s a little frightening.

1 (tie) Tale of the Nine Tailed - my perfect fantasy romance. I liked it better than Goblin, yeah I said it.

1 Flower of Evil - all the tropes I love in one incredible package. I would rewatch episodes waiting for new ones trying to puzzle the story and to stay withdrawal but it works just as well on rewatch. Lee Jun Ki brings his trademark tortured intensity and for once, both his leading lady and his script back him up and are worthy of that. It’s perfect.

FAVORITE DRAMA

It’s a tie between Tale of the Nine Tailed and Flower of Evil but if I had to pick just one, FoE, because it had me seriously obsessed and guessing about the protagonist and gave me the narrative tropes I love so much and an OTP that statisfied all my hurt/comfort kinks and then some.

WORST DRAMA

Born Again - honestly, this is so bonkers it almost becomes good but alas...

FAVORITE MALE CHARACTER

Do Hyun Soo/Baek Hee Sung, Flower of Evil - he is so messed up, so on edge, so traumatized. Yet capable of so much warmth and caring even as he himself doesn’t realize his humanity. FoE is basically a story of a man pushed and punished by the world for his entire life who, because of one woman, finds a safe place and peace and slowly comes to life without realizing it, and watching his desperation to keep this small bit of normalcy is so heartbreaking and exciting all at once. Plus, you start the drama thinking he’s a psychopathic serial killer and end it (if you are me) thinking he must be protected at all costs and if anyone even looks at him wrong they must suffer, and that’s quite a change!

FAVORITE FEMALE CHARACTER

Nam Ji Ah, Tale of the Nine Tailed - she is so funny and tough and smart and loving and amazing that I will totally buy that a literal demi-god will do anything and everything for her and love her for literal eternity.

NEEDS TO BE MURDERED

Dad in Record of Youth - yes in a year with serial killers and supernatural demons, I picked a normal character from a mediocre drama. It’s his everyday awfulness to his family that hits so hard and I am sad he never got his comeuppance.

FAVORITE SHIP

Ji Ah x Yeon - a fearless reporter and an immortal demi-god who’s been hoping for his human beloved to reincarnate. A really rare set-up where the OTP is equally ride or die, so compatible and completely BAMF. I got why he waited for her for that long and then fell in love with her all over again. Perfection.

Runner up: Flower of Evil - he is so messed up he literally does not believe he is capable of love or empathy, but he falls in love with her anyway and so utterly she permeates his entire life. She is tough as nails and only believes what she sees and is the sole person who believes in him against the world. She loves him but he needs her. She needs him but he loves her. They are amazing.

FAVORITE SECONDARY OTP

Seo Dan x Gu Seung Jun, Crash Landing on You, North Korean x Conman were so good I shipped them harder than the main OTP and the end of that storyline pissed me off so much I dumped the drama and didn’t finish it for months (and it’s still dead to me.)

NOTP

Record of Youth - it started out and they didn’t have much chemistry but the dialogues were interesting and I thought the chemistry would grow. It didn’t and deteriorated, their dialogues became boring and relationship had zero development (about as much as the supposed female lead.) I think we were supposed to feel bad they broke up and they were going for a bittersweet open ending, instead I found myself happy about the break up of two incompatible, chemistry-less people and hoping for the love of God they never get back together.

FAVORITE SCENE

Yeon and the bridge of knives, Tale of the Nine Tailed - Yeon choosing to undergo the creeptastic bridge of knives for a chance to save Ji Ah, who at that point he is not aware is the reincarnation of his Joseon love because, as he says, he doesn’t care if she is or isn’t, it just would be more horrible to have her die than to undergo the horrific torture he is undergoing, and then the sequence with his catching her, her weeping over him and the fact that she is the original Joseon girl revealed and all the bandaging and his watching her sleep and all that loveliness, is everything for yours truly.

Runner up: Hyun Soo having that break-down at the cliff at the end of ep 15 of Flower of Evil as Ji Won desperately tries to convince him she is alive and he finally stumbles to her.

Runner runner up (it’s my list, I will do what I want): Do Won preparing to blow his brains out to give a chance to Seo Kyung to live in Train.

BIGGEST CRUSH

Seon-Gyeom, Run On. Yeah, I know. Im Siwan is tiny, delicate featured and has a runner’s build, none of which are things that normally appeal to me. But his character is so odd, so honest, so unflinching in pursuing what he thinks is right, so incapable of self-pity despite plenty of reasons for it, and so ridiculously attractive when he smiles, I don’t even care.

BEST SCENE STEALER CHARACTER

Kim Bum, TotNT - I started out being annoyed by him and ended up looking forward to his scenes and being distraught by his ending.

NEEDS A SEQUEL

Honestly, none. I was fine with all the endings. I wouldn’t mind seeing post-end life of Tale of the Nine Tailed characters or the OTP settling into their literal new world in Train, but I am good.

TROPE THAT NEEDS TO DIE

Time jump that solves all the problems off screen or alternatively years pass and everyone is frozen - something that kdramas need to learn and need to learn badly. See Record of Youth, Brahms and Start Up.

FAVORITE TROPE WE’VE SEEN A LOT OF

Men who are ride or die for their OTP - this was a great year for this - the male leads of four of my five dramas were beyond anything on that scale (only exception is Run On because it’s still too early to tell there.) Yes PLEASE.

BIGGEST DISAPPOINTMENT

This was a banner year for that what with Start Up, Do You Like Brahms, Record of Youth, and Private Lives all starting out well and nosediving off the cliff but winner is Crash Landing on You. I loved it so much for bulk of its run but the last episode pissed me off so much I deleted all my files and called it a day.

BIGGEST GOOD SURPRISE

Flower of Evil - I had no expectations of this drama and wasn’t even planning on watching it despite liking both the lead actors because yet another “look at evil serial killer be evil” drama with no romance was not my thing. Luckily someone convinced me there might be some romance and I peeked curiously. Honestly, their promo campaign was the most misleading and dumbest thing ever.

Runner up Psycho but it’s OK - I have never liked Kim Soo Hyun in anything before and the drama premise seemed WTF but it was shockingly good and KSH totally blew me away.

Hardest Working Lead

Yoon Shi Yoon - he starred in two (!!!) dramas in 2020 playing three characters and not only were both these dramas awesome in a lackluster year, but if it wasn’t for the fact that I knew it was the same actor and the fact that the characters shared a face, I would have never believed that they were played by the same actor. So good!

My Beautiful Bride and Deserving of the Name - I was obsessed with both of them and honestly, they were much better than the bulk of 2020 kdramas I watched.

MOST ANTICIPATED IN 2021

The Moon That Rises in the Day, Hong Chun Gi, Joseon Exorcist, Island,  Frightening Cohabitation, Snowdrop.

Your thoughts on the epi? And the trailers? I'm loving the in love Edser! We've waited so long for this!!!

This episode was so fun and fluffy! I don't know about you, but I am enjoying the tone during this second season. A lot. I don't care how stupid the audition process was for the spot in the school, it gave us some very good comedy and a lot of USTy, sexy, flirty goodness.

And like you, I also love in love Edser!

Thankfully this episode was dominated by Edser, and with Kiraz at Granny's house we even got some alone time. The supporting characters were used to good effect this episode, Engin and Piril were the funniest they've ever been, Kerem and Pina served to poke Serkan about his mentoring style, and it was actually nice to have an excuse for Ayfer and Aydan to share a storyline again.

However, we'll start with Burak and Melo. UGH. I mean I love Melo and Elcin has done a really good job of showing Melo's heartbreak and trying to hide her melancholy behind her usual bubbly personality, but I really can't stand that it's over such a dud of a character. I know I'm a broken record here but Melo deserves better than this fool. Honestly, he's such a bland sad sack I don't really get why Melo loves him, Eda wants to be friends with him and Ayfer thinks he's so great she wants him for a nephew-in-law. Well, for Ayfer the only qualification is that he's not Serkan, so never mind that question.

However, maybe there's some hope? Before this episode it seemed certain they were heading in a romance direction, but the way he told her she was like a sister to him? Is there really any coming back from him saying that after he remembered kissing her? On the other hand we're barreling towards the end here and there's not really enough time to introduce anyone new for Melo (and no indication from spoilers that they have) and I'm pretty sure Ayse and the writers want to give her a romantic happy ending (although I'd be fine if they didn't and instead had her go off and do something entirely for herself like go back to school or travel or open a shop). So we'll see, because even with the sister line they left some room open because Kerem was the one who suggested he say that (it wasn't necessarily his own idea) and with Melo he seemed to be coming from a place where he assumed he had forced himself on her and she was angry because she didn't want it. Which we know is not true, so might be a misunderstanding that leads to something more. Anyway, I guess we'll just have to endure whichever way they go.

Personally, I like the Serkan-Kemal father storyline. I think it's a good way to add a bit of drama in the waning episodes, gives Serkan a bit of an identity crisis, interestingly mirrors his own situation with Kiraz, and it just makes sense with everything we know of the characters. Because were we seriously supposed to believe that someone as sniveling as Alptelkin sired Serkan? I mean Serkan is the epitome of BDE, he has an inherent charismatic and commanding presence. Sorry to the actor who played Alptekin, but he didn't really have any kind of presence, however Sinan who plays Kemal, does. They've done a great job of casting, because it just feels true. I believe Kemal and Serkan share genetics.

However, even before that storyline starts in earnest, it's interesting that Serkan was being a big baby, not wanting his mom with a man she clearly loves. I wish Eda would have pushed back at him a little more when he was going off that Aydan shouldn't pursue love at her age! Does he think he'll be out of love with Eda by the time he's in his 50s and 60s? Of course not! I'm guessing Eda, though, is just letting him blow off some steam and come to accept the relationship on his own terms. Don't get me wrong, though, after all the meddling Aydan's done with Edser, she more than deserves to have Serkan's opinion of Kemal negatively impact her!

Loved that Kiraz and Can found out first that Kemal is Serkan's father! Cat is out of the bag, Aydan, you can't make a deal with a 5 year old, lmao. It put a nice ticking clock on the whole thing and gave us some good comedic moments where Kiraz is speaking the truth and everyone thinks she's just really fond of the dude. Hee.

Also I enjoyed the Aydan and Ayfer moments. To be honest, I also used to enjoy their true friendship moments when we got them, like when Kemal first appeared and Aydan was freaking out and needed Ayfer and Seyfi around her, and when they were trying to hunt down Deniz after the fake wedding turned real. After so much animosity, it was nice that Ayfer recognized that Aydan was truly in distress and needed a friend and they were able to actually talk. Also we got some (mildly) funny comedy with the two of them and the school lady. Speaking of Ayfer, thankfully she finally realized some consequences to her actions in pushing Burak at Eda. She hurt Melo! Glad she finally opened her eyes to see what should have been obvious to her (Eda never saw him that way, and Melo obviously did) and apologized to Melo. I'd like it if she would apologize to Eda as well, (and Burak deserves an apology as well because she most definitely gave him false hope) but since Eda wasn't influenced by her we probably won't see that.

Switching to Eda and Serkan this episode gave us lots of good stuff. This was a great episode for showing us where each of them stood. Eda is terrified of getting hurt and trying to hold him at arm's length even while he clearly is inching back into her heart, and Serkan is dreaming of their future together, and taking every opportunity to tie them together. How much did I love Serkan admitting he was poking at Eda, and doig things to make her angry, just so she would talk to him? Interesting that he's doing it and love that he's being honest and admitting it to her. One of my favorite relationship dynamics between them is around "talking." In the very beginning Serkan did a lot of complaining about how much Eda talked and how she never shut up, but starting around episode 18 all he wanted was for Eda to talk to him. And this is just more of that. The thing he wants most is to talk to her.

Plus watching domestic Edser is just so much fun, I could watch their full grocery shopping trip in real time and be perfectly happy, lol. At the age of 35 it's time that Serkan learn how to do a few things for himself, I don't care how rich he is, so it's nice that we see him evolving a bit as he embraces the dad role.

The jealousy gambits, even as mild as they are, are getting pretty eye roll worthy since Eda and Serkan are living together, care so much, and obviously are still so hot for one another. It's a bit more understandable from Serkan since Eda is the one creating the barrier between them, but are we really supposed to believe that Eda is jealous of Deniz when Serkan is so obviously in love with Eda and planning their future together? Especially when he clearly can't stand Deniz and tries so hard to avoid her? I suppose it's to show us that Eda is in a jumbled state, her head is trying to keep space with Serkan, while her heart wants him badly and is scared he's going to take her rejections seriously. Even so it was quite irrational for her to get angry at Serkan for having lunch with Deniz when she ordered him to leave with her. Poor Eda is in emotional turmoil.

It was hard to tell with shaky translations, but I guess Serkan claimed to have been injured while rescuing Eda and that's how he talked his way into her bed? Impressively done, Serkan. Love it because it meant we all got to wake up to snuggly family, snuggling together. This gave us another glimpse into Eda's psyche, she wakes up first, and is clearly enjoying it and feeling at home in his arms, until the sleep clears enough and her head realizes she's not supposed to be enjoying it. But once again Kiraz knows how to handle her parents and their complicated relationship beautifully and fixes everything with a pillow fight. That is one smart cookie.

One of my favorite moments of the episode is when Eda is trying to convince Serkan to go to Aydan about the school. Eda knows that her big eyes still work on him, and they did. He still can't say no to her, another one of my favorite relationship dynamics of theirs. I'm super glad some things never change. Speaking of their visit to Aydan's, how great that they went to meet the horse without a name as a family, and then Serkan finally came up with the perfect name. Definitely a star.

Love, love, love that Serkan and Eda beat Engin and Piril when it came to the 'how well do you know your spouse' game. They may have been separated for 5 years, but they both have a genuine interest in the other, so they remember things, and they always made a much more compatible couple than Engin/Piril who have absolutely nothing in common. Of course I adored all the fake married hijinx this gave us, not to mention all the opportunities for Serkan to touch, kiss, and hold her. SO MUCH UST!

The heart-to-heart on the bench was well done and it finally gave us Eda opening up and telling him what's been holding her back. She's scared. Of course she is, the poor thing. Serkan might have thought he was doing it for her own good both times, but he ripped her heart out twice (not even counting all the heart ripping he did during amnesia) how could she not have fears? Of course she's afraid! Whenever she lets herself love him and be loved by him, it's ripped away horribly, and often in ways that feels like it's him doing the ripping. She can take into consideration the circumstances, which she has or else he wouldn't be anywhere near her, and still need time to be sure she's not just setting herself up to get emotionally demolished again.

For Serkan's part all he can do is keep being there, being honest with her, and showing he's in it for the long haul, which I think he's doing and which is why they are where they are at the end of this episode.

Engin and Piril's dance practice is probably the first Engin/Piril alone scene that I thought was genuinely funny and fully enjoyable. I can't think of another... message me if you think there is one, lol. Elsewhere, I saw some folks saying that Engin and Piril should have won the dance competition, because they actually danced, and Eda and Serkan didn't. LOL, you think? I'm pretty sure that was the point. That Eda and Serkan didn't really dance, all they did was get up there and turn their sexual tension and intense smoldering towards one another up to eleventy and won because it's that powerful.

It's sort of a metaphor for this whole series. Sen Cal Kapimi is 100% powered by their chemistry. Of course they can win any competition by just pressing their bodies against one another! They can turn a ditzy Turkish summer romcom that probably should have gone 13 eps into an international hit that's going on 50 episodes, just by looking at one another.

I'm glad that the school officials overheard their conversations and dismissed them, any organization that requires this of the parents, is going to be a lifelong pain-in-the ass, lmao. Also it was good to see Edser and EnPir make up by the end.

Now, on to that ending. I'm glad the subject of the tatoos was brought up, interesting that Eda kept hers until a few months ago. Also interesting that she moved it... can't blame Serkan for wanting to see it. Was that one great seduction line, or what?

I join with everyone who thinks it was a slightly awkward place to leave the episode. We only have 13 (probably) episodes this season, and we've only had one kiss so far. That was definitely a moment for a kiss. Part of me thinks they were going for the cliffhanger, what will Eda do? Will she kiss him or slam the door in his face? Tune in next week to find out! Except that audiences have to wait no time at all for the fragman and that makes any such cliffhanger moot. So what's the point? Have her pull him in, kiss him, and the show can end with them passionately making out and the door slamming with the camera outside the house.

Oh well, it is what it is, and we can only hope they pick up next week right where they left off. As for the fragman, obviously they are fully back together for this episode which means she lets him in to hunt for her tattoo. (please oh please give us that internet ozel because I don't think I can stand being online in this fandom if they don't. Thankfully I'm traveling next week and will be too busy to spend much time on twitter.)

As I said in another ask, I'm not surprised Serkan is barreling them straight towards marriage. When you know, you know, so why wait? Once they emotionally commit to one another, they need to just get married. No waiting for psychos to interfere, family to meddle, or tragedy to strike!

Seriously can't wait for a full episode of them together and Serkan figuring out how to propose. I'm also looking forward to the Kemal/Serkan stuff, it will be interesting to see how he reacts once the news sets in... should be a great episode!

Minami Natsume: You must've lived in a neighborhood that loved festivals.

Sogo Osaka: It's fine. This drink is basically just a sherbert, it won't get me drunk.

Sogo Osaka: It can't be that strong. And besides, it's the same as yours.

Torao Mido: Like what..? I haven't seen the guy in ages, either.

Toma Inumaru: You should still have an easier time getting a hold of him than Sogo. At least call him once.

Tamaki Yotsuba: Toracchi, please! If you call him, I'll stop calling you an evil rich guy!

Torao Mido: I didn't know you called me that in the first place... Fine. I'll give him a call.

Sogo Osaka: Thank you.

Torao Mido: It's no trouble at all, really. You may be an heir with a strict upbringing, but I'm a spoiled youngest son.

Haruka Isumi: So did this Ito-san spoil you, too?

Torao Mido: He owns a boat that I got to ride on a few times, not to mention he's got a few unique side ventures.

Sogo Osaka: Unique side ventures...

Torao Mido: He never told me about them in much detail. He may be a CEO, but he doesn't have any family to share his wealth with. 

Torao Mido: So his side ventures have to do with finding said family... ...Ah, he picked up.

HI HAHA it’s been a while! i thought i would be able to keep up with a blog but i thought wrong 💀but i’m currently fixated on Bakuten!! so here are some random hcs hee hee

AO HIGH

onagawa has definitely made a powerpoint on how ma-chan is the best tan tan girl, and he forced misato and futaba to listen to him

“LOOK AT HOW PRETTY AND PURE HER SMILE IS. LOOK AT IT-“

while they were doing this tsukidate walked into the kitchen and IMMEDIATELY left because he knew if onagawa saw him he would be dragged in too LOL

later he went to shichigahama and was like “don’t go into the kitchen, onagawa made another one of those powerpoints.”

they last like 2 hours too?? misato would literally rather be doing anything else, and futaba is just impressed as to how he has enough information to go on for so long

they all cry when dogs die in movies, EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM.

misato and watari’s lips are quivering, futaba is actually shedding tears, and the third years are full on crying

tsukidate is the type of person that when he trips and feels himself falling, he just does a handstand, then gets up and walks away like nothing happened.

everybody around him is like 😧

watari really enjoys MHA, his favorite character is kirishima

since futaba likes reading dictionaries, his mom entered him in a spelling bee in like his second year of middle school and he won first place

when misato stubs his toe or something, he doesn’t say ow. he just scrunches up his face in pain and slowly falls to the floor and sits there for a good 2 minutes (this may or may not be based off of me idk)

onagawa has never been to a tan tan girls concert, but the team is secretly saving money to buy him a ticket

tsukidate cried watching your lie in april

shichigahama is always making new sasa kamaboko flavors, and he’ll just randomly go up to any of his teammates and be like “can you try this and see if it’s good?”

tsukidate went on vacation once and trusted the team to take care of his plants (he gave them instructions and everything) while he was away. he was not pleased to see all his shrubs, succulents, and his bonsai tree flopped over dead.

literally did not talk to anyone for a day. he was not happy.

futaba always has blankets with him because he’s always cold

onagawa is not a morning person, you have to give him at least 30 mins until you try and engage in conversation with him

watari does not like spiders. at all (he’s said before: “yeah they’re manly and all, but they’re even manlier if they stay away from me”)

nobody likes game night because all they have is monopoly and uno, and tsukidate is incredibly good at monopoly as he wins EVERY SINGLE TIME. and futaba is also really good at uno

watari drinks milk straight from the jug

watari ALSO likes to leave empty cereal boxes in the pantry (which irritates tsukidate and onagawa)

misato is very easy to startle, so people will always unintentionally scare him and make him jump

SHIRO HIGH

they actually get together with ao high a lot

sometimes tsukiyuki will be nowhere to be found, chances are he invited himself over to ao highs dorms

they’re honestly not even phased

everybody, and i mean EVERYBODY is scared of mutsu.

the GLARES that he has given some of his teammates has literally sent chills down their spines

the team as a whole thinks that ominato should lighten up and not be so uptight so they all try to include him in stuff

he has laughed ONCE, and it was more of a snort

they were cracking jokes about some of the other gymnastic teams and he was like “pffft-“

everybody just turned their head and looked at him bc wow i didn’t know he was able to do that-

it’s not uncommon to just see tsukiyuki doing walking handstands around the dorms instead of walking normally

tsukiyuki can actually dance really well

ominato usually has headphones in, but the volume is always so high up they can hear him blasting Aomori Nebuta Dream with his stone face (nobody ever bothers to tell him tho)

tsukiyuki has snacks on him ALL THE TIME. like chances are if you were to stick your hand into his tracksuit pocket you would find like a bag of cookies

he’ll really eat anything but his favorites are oreos and potato chips

tsukiyuki has most definitely been mistaken for a 12 year old and he uses that to get free food

azuma needed braces. i can’t really elaborate on that, but yeah

despite his go getter attitude, he’s really respectful to adults and upper classmen (you would be shocked how polite he is)

another one that uses his baby face to get free food

ryugamori is really quiet, but once you engage into conversation with him his whole personality changes

he’s the type of person to talk on and on about what he’s passionate in, but once he realizes he’s been talking for too long he’ll get embarrassed and be like “oh sorry, haha” (no pls don’t be sorry continue)

surprisingly very competitive

despite his usually calm demeanor, he is terrified of haunted houses and stuff like that

went into one with the team and shrieked the whole time

all of them are so close where they can just be in the same room, doing different things and not saying a single word but it won’t be awkward

AND that’s all i’ve got lol, hopefully the bakuten fandom enjoys these, they were very fun to make!
