Kayden is ready to build a better bowl with Primal’s freeze-dried nuggets. We tried their duck formula, which is made up of 78% duck, organs, bones, and 22% produce, and supplements. This food is made with human-grade ingredients, 100% certified organic produce and no synthetic ingredients. Which is why Primal is my favorite, no synthetic ingredients! You will not find any grain, gluten, corn, wheat, or soy in this food. Primal uses thoughtfully sourced ingredients. For this formula the duck is cage free, and raised without antibiotics, steroids, or added hormones. 

This is a complete and balanced food. You can feed it dry as a treat, topper, or re-hydrate it and feed as a meal. I’ve been re-hydrating a few nuggets and using them as a topper for Kayden’s meals. I’ve been feeding Primal for about two years now, and I will say it is Kayden’s favorite! Something else that I love about Primal’s formulas is that they put the proteins temperatures on their bags! If you are into the Chinese theory or see a Holistic Vet like we do it makes it super easy to know what formulas Kayden can eat. Kayden can only eat neutral and cooling foods. So on this bag of duck formula you will see a C for cooling, perfect for Kayden!

For all of you who have written me or called me wondering about my sweet Mooshka, here’s an update. This is the first time in a month that she’s wanted to lay in her basket on my desk😘 we are still very touch and go, but it’s clear that she’s currently feeling better. As of today she is done with antibiotics and her steroids have been cut to every other day, to just a wee dose and she hasn’t gotten worse.. a very good sign. She’s on milk thistle twice a day and her diet has been completely switched to a exceptional raw wet diet which she is eating like a horse, another great sign. No new lesions on her skin, just the same ones but they are healing everyday. Her coat looks better than it has in weeks. I have no illusions.. she’s been a very sick kitty, but her sweet and feisty personality has been showing up again , in between stretches of sleeping for hours which finally feels like recovery time instead of fighting for her life time. So we shall see what she has decided. Thank you all so much for your love and prayers. You have no idea what it’s meant to me. At this point in time, animal nutrition has taken over my life to the point of obsession. We are unknowingly and innocently feeding our animals food that may be killing them.    If you have been following my blog for awhile you know the I love Primal Pet Food. I am so excited to be working with them to do some reviews for their feline products. To start off Freya is PICKY, picky with proteins, and texture. I found out she loves duck, so I picked Primal’s Freeze-Dried nuggets in the duck formula. This food is a complete and balanced meal. These nuggets are shelf-stable and ready to serve. It’s as easy as portioning out the meal, and shredding the nuggets to rehydrate them. Primal’s products are humanly sourced, crated in the USA, and use organic produce. Their products contain no antibiotic, or synthetic vitamins.  Not only did Freya like these nuggets, we have another very picky cat who also loved these!

Happy World Food Day - a day celebrated around the world to honor the founding of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations. This year’s theme is: “Grow, Nourish, Sustain. Together.” The @fao website says that “Preserving access to safe and nutritious food is and will continue to be an essential part of the response to the COVID-19 pandemic, particularly for poor and vulnerable communities, who are hit hardest by the pandemic and resulting economic shocks.” In addition to donating to organizations helping to feed those who need assistance, we try to focus on food sustainability in our house. My human sometimes orders from @imperfectfoods to reduce food waste, orders protein from sustainable sources like @butcher_box, and buys my food from sustainable brands like @openfarmpet and @primalpetfoods.
