 As she enter Elrianode, Laby suffers from the twisted memories she witnesses in the dome. Not only was she suddenly dragged out of the illusion, but the reality of the outside world was too much for Laby who was trapped in a sweet illusion. Nisha tries to calm Laby, and lead her to a cave with a familiar energy.

2/5 -  Collect Trace of Primordial Chaos (Chrysalis, Forgotten Elrian Sanctum) 0/5 

 Although Nisha chose to enter the cave to calm Laby, the situation only worsened. Although Nisha placed Laby back in an illusion, Laby kept waking up scared. Nisha felt familiar beings surround them to attack. I will not allow anything to bully her. I will removed their presence from this world.

3/5 - Collect Grand Compass Pieces (Skin Splitter, Elrianode) 0/20

As the move forward and defeat monsters, they arrived back at the entrance of the cave. Although she didn't want to go back, a mysterious voice stopped Laby. A warm voice she heard even in a bad dream... She wanted to know who she was. They would need preparation to go deeper into the cave. Let's defeat nearby monsters and gain experience.

The cave was full of monsters. However Laby feels like everything will be solved if she meets the voice. Let's defeat the monsters and find the owner of the voice.

All dreams eventually come to an end.

Laby walked through the cave as if she was walking through a labyrinth. Among her mixed up emotions, Laby could no longer tell which are real and which are mere illusions. You said you were going to protect Laby... Laby calls out desperately, but there was no reply. As Laby begins to breakdown in this never-ending nightmare, a voice from her side keeps her together.

Don't disappear. Give me all your pain and sorrow, so I can protect you.

Laby realizes who the mysterious voice was. Her friend that allowed her to stay inside a sweet illusion now says that she would take all her pain instead of her. Trusting Nisha to take care of her, Laby gives all of her emotions to Nisha. Nisha... Laby's precious friend who always protects Laby. I want to meet you before I fall deeply asleep.

Laby headed towards the sanctum. "She" was waiting for her answer at the heart of the sanctum.

In your ramble you talked a little bit about the Primordials, and it's been rattling around my brain for a little now. So I wanted to ask more about them !! When the war with the Eridians started, were they even aware of it ? Were there consequences for the planets they inhabited after it was all over/after they got sealed in the vaults ? Once someone becomes aware of a Primordial's existence, do they experience The Horrors ? Or is it just like kinda having a roomate in your brain with a lot of eyes [No need to answer all of these Im just curiois by nachure]

Oh yeah they were absolutely aware of them lmao. When a bunch of small bug people show up to your doorstep and start throwing you and your friends in prison for seemingly no reason you are bound to notice.

Usually, there were, since the Eridians were so hellbent on control. They wiped out every other sophont civilization in the galaxy, and many of said civilizations were nourished by, assisted, uplifted - and, in turn, worshipping and sacrificing themselves to the Primordials. Some Primordials saw what was to come, and committed suicide before they could be imprisoned - for example, in Gehenna's case, a Primordial ended their life there, their body turning into an extraordinarily rich core deposit and their child hibernating for eons before being hatched and killed (yep, the Ruiner was an infant Primordial!).

NEW TALES SPOILERS FOR THE NEXT SECTION!!!!! PROCEED WITH CAUTION!!!!

Primordials themselves are able to merge with sapient beings (but most readily do so with humans - as I have said before, we are etherically receptive) and once this occurs, the sophont retains their consciousness, the Primordial just hangin back in their body and only occasionally coming out, though of course by hangin back they also progressively mutate their vessel (in the Destroyer's case, it was powerful enough to completely overtake Tyreen's body). This is the stuff that happens to Vincent, Tyreen & Anu (although, temporarily and forcefully in that last case) in canon and Wainwright, Rhys, Fiona & Nisha in the rewrite (as well as a few OCs).

What occurs beyond this point is a complex process roughly called Primordial influence. Essentially, these guys are so impossibly powerful and ancient their sheer will, or sometimes even just presence, causes things to happen, ranging from changes in the body to strange curses (Gythian moment) to other things. Sophonts substantially affected by this influence may be considered Bonded. This process is gradual, but can be significantly accelerated and augmented through certain procedures, the fastest ones being just injecting the Primordial's blood/implanting its flesh into oneself (this is exactly happened to the first "canon" Bonded as seen in GL&T, just pay attention to the echo logs and posters strewn about the ship!) or being deeply and sufficiently emotionally connected to the Primordial (Eleanor Olmstead moment! The rings serve as a further means of connection/"bonding". No fuckin wonder JFV!Lock and Wright can do weird shit like share a mindscape). One may also artificially become a quasi-Bonded through proper application of core, but I already made a post on that lol.

yknow what. here it is. my full borderlands rewrite/fix-it/theory??? notes. enjoy.

the 6 siren powers are phasegrasp, phaselock, phasewalk, phaseshift, phasesight and some other power that im not sure about. there's also phaseleech, the 7th siren created as a failsafe. said powers are rebelled guardian souls (unbound by fate) that, upon "possessing" a being, can only be banished on death OR near death. and yes, siren vessels can survive near-death if they give up their powers

phasesight grants one psychometry, the power to read the "memory" of a place, as well as clairvoyance, the power to see remotely

all vault monsters (except the ones that were said to be constructed by the eridians or look artificial, like the traveller or graveward) are actually a part of one race of abominations called the primordials. the eridians discovered them and the amount of influence they have on the universe and tried to seal them away

vincent was capable of possessing vessels because primordials can influence, possess or even merge with sentient beings. sirens can detect their influence

it is possible to shield against the power of the primordials using what can only be described as occult means. sigils, crystals and other flashy things all work provided you believe they work. this is why vaults that contain the primordials are so ornamental and grand - their intricate shape is part of the ward keeping the primordials in (and it's also why the machine looks so magical. that's because it is)

typhon deleon is mostly replaced by leda calypso, as in she's the one who leaves logs everywhere. leda is also a phasesight siren - phasesight is an unusual non-combat ability to read the "memories" of objects or places (as if they were imprinted on by a siren). she dies in childbirth and Sight is inherited by commandant steele who uses it to find a vault and quickly ascend the ranks of the crimson lance

angel lives through bl2 (Shift fucks off and possesses tannis) and is subsequently kind of adopted by wainwright ("angel's mom was a jakobs" is basically kind of canon so.... yeah. also, asshole absentee father gang) plays a minor role in the eden 6 arc, can be found on sanctuary afterwards. tries to hide the fact she used to be a siren but fails because of, well, we know how tannis is. this they/she demigirl is in love with gaige and in this essay i will

nisha fakes her death to get away from jack and manages to find aurelia. the two become a cool  "be gay do crimes" duo of girlbosses. sometimes they vaulthunt together sometimes separately but they always keep in touch

aurelia lives because she isn't really the arc villain. she's a rival, she's a vh opposed to the crimson raiders but she's not evil. also she's at first completely unaware her unfunny brother's on the same planet, so there's for lots of weird funnies and Hammerlock Bickering (tm)

the vault of the traveller contains 2 primordials, the tricuspid star and the rotation of fortune. the star merges with rhys and the rotation merges with fiona. rhys just kinda doesn't figure out how to use his powers ever. fiona uses hers to become a legendary vault hunter.

tyreen betrays troy. she leeches him almost completely (enough so that he loses his siren powers) and he's forced to either work with the raiders or die. ofc he accepts to help the vhs stop his sister as he has nothing else to live for anyways. he befriends angel :). also tannis forces him to wear an actual shirt lmao. also also he becomes a video game streamer

after that happens, tyreen slowly gives into the destroyer's influence over her. it calls on to her, even kinda possesses her (like in that scrapped "Evil" echo portrait) technically nothing special happens here except the final boss is more climactic and there's more foreshadowing to it

maya lives... well, at least through the vault part. she still dies but her death is ACTUALLY MEANINGFUL. basically: lilith lives and doesn't fly into elpis, maya does. i mean come on it makes sense with phaselock and all. ava inherits phaseleech (ah yes tyreen and jack, the two people who continue to fuck shit up even after death).

after gythian dies, wainwright inherits its power. basically he merges with what remains of the monster and gradually becomes a primordial himself (just very underpowered and in the general shape of a human)

also wainwright eventually adopts troy.
