Regular and Recurring LGBTQIA+ Characters in series on TV & Streaming Video
These are characters who have first appeared or been revealed as LGBTQIA+ during the 2022/23 season, or whom I’ve recently learned about or whom I hadn’t mentioned in previous posts of this type (that is, on my old blog). Needless to say, this list is also highly arbitrary and incomplete.
Netflix
The Sandman
the Corinthian (portrayed by Boyd Holbrook)
Johanna Constantine (portrayed by Jenna Coleman)
Desire (portrayed by Mason Alexander Park)
Hal Carter (portrayed by John Cameron Mitchell)
Carl (portrayed by Ben Wiggins)
Lucifer Morningstar (portrayed by Gwendoline Christie)
Mazikeen (portrayed by Cassie Clare)
Young Royals (Netflix)
Prince Wilhelm of Sweden (portrayed by Edvin Ryding)
Simon Eriksson (portrayed by Omar Rudberg)
Marcus (portrayed by Tommy Wättring)
Continuing the tradition from my old blog (which has been unceremoniously deleted by tumblr without much of an explanation why) I’m doing daily posts during June to celebrate LGBTQIA+ pride by showcasing openly LGBTQIA+ celebrities and various content about or created by LGBTQIA+ people such as music videos, characters on TV shows, movie trailers, …

The focus of the photograph for me is the Empress María Alexandrovna. I am always looking for pictures of her, as she is described as beautiful when young. I can see indications of that in pictures such as this one, but I am also beginning to understand why it might have been that many mistook her shyness for coldness and aloofness.
On the photograph from left to right: Julie, Princess of Battenberg; Elizabeth of Prussia, Princess and Prince Carl of Hesse, Prince Wilhelmina of Hesse, Empress Marie Alexandrovna, Prince Louis of Hesse; Prince Gustav Vasa from Sweden; Princess Alice of Hesse and Prince Alexander of Hesse
