So….I am in the very beginning of the 3rd season of Yellowstone (First two episodes) and there are already a few scenes which makes my head hurt for Jamie.
Starting with Scene 1
There is the scene in the very first episode where the cowboys, John, Casey and Tate are about to move to the summer camp. It’s shown as if they are literally on the brick of heading off when Jamie comes along on his horse to join them. At this point Jamie is still part of the cowboys and is living in the barn with them. Therefore, he has every right in the world to assume that he, Jamie, will join them and help out in the summer camp. That is his JOB at this point.
The overarching plot of this episode is that John Dutton is unable to be Livestock Commissioner/ Commander/ Whatever because of the events in the finale of season 2. He gets to nominate his successor for which he choses Casey first. Casey doesn’t feel like it; so he declines with a „lol, no, big pass, good luck with it I guess, I am out“ kind of vibe. Interestingly, Casey suggests Jamie instead („[…] you have a politician; and he’s living currently in the barn[…]“ is very close to what he is saying, I believe). John does not do that. He offers it to Beth instead who also declines and walks out.
This political position is clearly a key factor to Johns way of saving the ranch, Yellowstone, but John seems to be unsure of what to do or he just forgets about it. That’s until Jamie arrives.
So…Jamie, CLEARLY completely unaware of what is going on, assuming that he is still with the cowboys instead of being offered another job as LITERALLY LAST CHOICE, comes out with his horse all excited, wearing his hat and visibly smiling. THIS IS THE EXACT MOMENT when John APPARENTLY decides to tell him that he will be the new Livestock Commissioner.
John makes sure to tell Jamie that he will not stand another disappointment from him and then leaves with Jamie’s co-workers up to this point, his brother and nephew. This excluding Jamie in every way from everything which gave him self-confidence up to this point and literally leaves him behind to take his horse back in, I guess.
I mean WHAT????
The nonchalantness of it all, I think, makes me really angry. If John REALLY doesn’t trust Jamie with this position HE COULD HAVE FOUND ANOTHER WAY. He could have made Beth do it or even Monica or LITERALLY ANYONE ELSE.
The best choice of course, in my opinion, would be Rip, but John apparently still doesn’t considers him family; which is also just nonsense at this point.
I just don’t get that he waited until Jamie had his horse ready and settled and then told him in the most humiliating way possible in front of all these people. I simply don’t understand that. I mean John didn’t what Jamie to die so I guess he has some feelings of being a FARTHER to him but what was this then?
Jamies reason for being in the barn was for him to regain self-confidence in a field where he doesn’t experience so much stress. John just put a lot of stress on him. Again.

I doubt that many people here are interested, but I decided to post the equivalent of "fix it snippets" for Yellowstone. I never came up with whole fics for them, just like a couple hundred/thousand words because I kept getting mad at canon.
And allll pro- Jamie & Kayce being bros instead of having a total of 3- 4 scenes together in 5 seasons.

Talking tom and friends season 4 episode 1
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The kids who inherited it are putting it up for sale, and Jamie talks over the pros and cons of the purchase with his birth dad, Garrett (Will Patton). (You’ve got that right, John.) John doesn’t mince words and confirms they’re going to kill everyone left in the militia.Īnd speaking of Jamie (Wes Bentley), our least favorite Dutton is out on a ranch listening to a realtor try and sell him the place, complete with cattle, pens, furniture, etc. If he doesn’t issue them, then they’ll know where he stands.
Tumblr media
John tells Kayce to ask Jamie for the warrants to take down the ones that remain.
Tumblr media
Kayce believes it was the white supremacist militia and John wonders how many of them are still alive. No, Kayce’s sure Jamie is still seeking his dad’s approval in his own twisted way. Plus, Jamie only leased the land for the airport because he was trying to keep the ranch together. Kayce doesn’t think anyone would work for Jamie. They banter good-naturedly about their wounds and Kayce says, “If you die on the way home I’ll bury you next to Lee and then I’ll sit on your grave and I’ll tell you I told you so.”Īfter a few lighthearted moments, John changes the mood by revealing Beth thinks Jamie’s behind the attack. Kayce starts to strip to join his dad for a soak, unwilling to let him ride home alone. John won’t back down when Kayce tries to get him to behave and declares if he dies on the ride back that’s just the way it goes. Kayce can’t help but smile as John points out the doctors also said he wasn’t supposed to drive but never mentioned riding a horse. Kayce follows him into the woods and finds John soaking in a hot spring, and John claims he’s just following his doctor’s orders. Kayce ( Luke Grimes) spots him riding off and is shocked, wondering if his dad’s trying to die. Paramount Network’s Yellowstone season four episode two finds John ( Kevin Costner) taking chances with his recovery by saddling up and going for a ride, alone. The Prince and the Wildfire

Jamie Dutton x Reader: Reader is a newer ranch hand on the ranch, a wild child, reckless and fun. Jamie falls for her when he's sent back to the bunkhouse after his attempted suicide.
You had been on the Yellowstone as a ranch hand for the last few months. You tore through the ranch like a tornado, especially when you met Teeter. You were both two peas in a pod, always causing trouble any time you could. What was the fun in life if you couldn't raise some hell sometimes. You had been there the day Rip brought the Dutton Prince, Jamie Dutton into the bunkhouse. The man had looked absolutely broken and defeated. You'd felt for him the minute he'd come in. The man who had fallen from grace. Slowly you'd grown closer to him, being one of the few that saw him as the man he was, the man he wanted to be and not the man his father tried to make him. Over the time you'd been on the ranch, you'd grown closer to him, developing a crush on the Dutton son that was growing more and more by the day until you couldn't deny it anymore. You were in love with the boss's son.
It was Saturday night and everyone sat around the table in the bunkhouse, playing cards as usual and drinking. You were bored. You needed some excitement. Getting an idea, you look over at Teeter. "T! This shit's more boring than watching the grass grow. You know what we need?" She asks with a mischievous grin that only widens when Teeter perks up and answers. "We need a rodeo is what we need! We got horses, we got bulls, we got calves. What the fuck we waitin' on, you sackless sum bitches?" You laugh and stand up, grabbing your hat and a rope. "I love how you fucking read my mind, T." You turn and look over at Jamie who was just sitting on his bunk. You grin as he throws his hands up in defeat and nods. "What the hell? Might as well." You clap and grabs his hand, dragging him out of the bunkhouse as everyone else follows. You watch as Lloyd and Ryan make makeshift chutes for the bulls and broncs while everyone else gets ready and argues over who's going first. You tighten the gloves on your hands and look over at Jamie with a grin, pulling him in for a quick kiss, taking the man by surprise as you'd never made a move before. After pulling back, you wink and run over to the chute, climbing up onto the gate and straddling the largest bull on the ranch, a mean son of a bitch that no one except you, Lloyd and Teeter had the balls to handle when he needed treatment.
Jamie was shocked by the kiss, his eyes following you as you climb into the chute and onto the big black bull's back. His heart was hammering in his chest, nervous as hell as he watched you. He couldn't figure you out from the very beginning. You were wild as hell, but around him you were almost shy until today. He'd kept himself at arm's length because he didn't know if his feelings were returned or not, but now that he knew, he couldn't keep his mind off of the thought of you pinned beneath him, crying his name. If you survived this damn insane idea of a rodeo, he planned on dragging you off the second he could. He watches, holding his breath as Lloyd pulls the gate to the chute open and the bull breaks free into the round pen, bucking, jumping, turning like a wild tornado, dust flying as you held on, looking like a pro, like you'd done this for years. He grins from ear to ear as Ryan shouts "That's 8 fucking seconds! Holy shit!" He jumps the fence and helps coral the bull after you'd jumped off and picked your hat up out of the dust. Once the bull was put away safely, he turns, his eyes blazing with desire as he approaches you, reached out and wrapping his arm around your waist and pulls you to him, kissing you deeply, his tongue delving into your mouth as he picks you up in his arms and carries you out of the pen, ignoring the whooping and hollering of the guys and gals from the bunkhouse. He didn't give a damn about any of them. The only thing he could think about was getting you both naked as quickly as he could. He was almost passing the barn, on his way to the bunkhouse when you break the kiss and pat his chest. "Barn. Don't want to wait." You say softly, your voice laced with desire. He grins and steps into the barn, slamming the door shut as he sets you on your feet and quickly strips off his clothes, kicking his boots away as he watches you do the same.
You smirk as you look him over, your body already on fire for him as you crook your finger, beckoning him to you. He had a fire in his eyes and you wanted more of that. You wanted to see just how hot that fire burned. Jamie doesn't hesitate. He steps forward, closing the gap between you both and picking you up, wrapping your legs around his waist before taking a few steps forward until your back was pinned between the old weathered wood of the barn and his strong, warm body. He trails kisses over your neck, grinding himself against you, growling against your skin as he feels you already wet and ready for him, your hand reaching down and grasping him, lining him up with your slick entrance. "Someone's eager aren't they, baby girl?" He purrs and gives you that lopsided grin before going back to your neck, latching onto the juncture of your neck and shoulder as he snaps his hips forward, filling you completely in one hard thrust. The feeling of you wrapped around him almost stole all of his control as he fought the urge to simply fuck you hard and fast to find his own release, but he wouldn't do that. He had to make sure this was so good that you'd never think of another man. In his mind, you were as good as his, and he was going to prove that to you right then and there. He begins a deep, slow pace, grinding his body against your clit on every inward thrust, his lips moving to capture yours. He hisses against your lips as your nails rake his back and your soft gasps and moans fill the air. He feels you begin to quiver around him, his cock throbbing at the feeling, begging him to let go and give you both what you wanted. He breaks the kiss and grips your jaw in his hand, his other holding your hip tightly. "That's my girl. I've got you, baby girl." His voice was almost a growl as he speeds up, angling his hips to hit just the right spot. He smirks, his eyes locked with yours as he feels you come undone around him, your cries of pleasure filling the old barn as he follows behind you, spilling inside of you with a soft grunt of your name. "(Y/N)....fuck..." He gasps, chuckling softly as he tries to catch his breath. He feels your hands smooth over his back, caressing the scratched, sweaty skin as your breathing slows back to normal. He gives you a loving smile and places a soft, sweet kiss to your lips before carrying you to the pile of hay in the corner of the barn. He grabs a horse blanket and lays it down before laying down on it, pulling you to lay on his chest, his fingers caressing your hair as he watches you drift to sleep on his chest. "My sweet wild fire." He murmurs softly before drifting to sleep himself.

Brevíssimas Impressões #5 - Cabo do Medo - John D. MacDonald
Tumblr media
PERSONAGENS:
Sam Bowden - Advogado do bem. Pai de família. Atirador. Barqueiro. Metido a engraçado.
Carol Bowden - Esposa.
Jamie Bowden - Filho do meio. Vários planos violentos.
Bucky Bowden - Filho mais novo. Várias sonecas no banco de trás do carro.
Delegado Dutton - Delegado.
Sievers - Investigador particular e organizador de surras meio incompetente.
Kersek - Policial morto em ação na cena da hora do vamo ver memo.
