Project Tsumi is an interactive comic that weaves asks into it's narrative! It follows a different story told with the Project Sekai cast! (Who am I kidding, it's just an overly-complicated AU.)

Assumptions and Headcanons - Pre-Canon Timeline

Consider this the intro before I finish the actual timeline. This section focuses on clarifications and ideas that enrich the Persona Timeline, specifically the Pre-Canon one.

Who created the Sea of Souls? Who lives there?

It's unknown who created the Sea. It either created on its own, or the Great Will had something to do. Every timeline is connected by the Sea, so this is your only chance to realistically crossover with FeMC. There might or not be a whale that lives there, depending on how canon you consider Trinity Soul to be. Its in the deepest part of the Sea where the Seal locking Nyx is located. The guy in charge (or closest thing in charge) is Chronos.

It isn't all that impressive when a higher being claims to come from the Sea. Every soul came from it and will return one day. They're probably taking advantage of the fact that humans don't know of the Sea to sound more important than they are.

This is why I consider PQ to be semi-canon, since otherwise Chronos wouldn't have been okay with the Velvet Assistants holding a dancing competition in the Sea of Souls.

That's right SMT fans, the Sea is the same as the River Styx.

Why couldn't Erebus reach Nyx' psyche before P3?

As mentioned in the timeline, Nyx' psyche was still scattered across the Collective Unconscious. Erebus could try all he wanted, but he would never find enough of her to call her physical body down to Earth. During P3, enough of Nyx' psyche was finally gathered into one single being: the Nyx Avatar (aka Ryoji). This caused Ryoji to be the literal embodiment of Death, since that's their entire purpose. I wonder what would happen if they met Chronos...

So, P3 happens and the Nyx Avatar is sealed by Minato/Minako before they can finish calling down Nyx' physical body. Erebus now knows where to find Nyx' psyche. There's a specific place now. However, the Seal prevents him from ever reaching it. Elizabeth thus comes annually to kick his ass and the Fall never comes.

I like to believe that a part of Ryoji is still fully aware in the Nyx Avatar after everything that happened, so Minato/Minako is not alone while being the Seal.

Neither may speak (one is being a Seal and the other one is being sealed away), but there is an understanding that they will never be truly alone. Just like when Ryoji was Pharos.

Did the rumors that became true during Eternal Punishment stay true after Nyarly's defeat?

I don't think so. The power to rewrite reality using word-of-mouth is really potent, but was only being powered by Nyarly. I believe the moment he was weakened, all rumors that came true dissolved into simple rumors once again. So, Kiyotada Sumaru stayed a fictional figure.

That was a low blow, Nyarly.

Where did the first Velvet Room attendants come from?

We know Igor was a doll, but if you ask me, Nameless, Belladonna, and the Demon Painter used to be human. Their exceptional and otherwordly talents in the arts made them stand out to Philemon to make them the "Muses" of the Velvet Room. Nameless was probably a German pianist (as a reference to a certain composer who also lost one of his senses), Belladonna was an Italian opera singer, and the Demon Painter was a painter from Sumaru City. It seems only Belladonna kept her human name. It also seems like you can leave your post whenever you want. It was confirmed that Nameless and Belladonna were still in the Velvet Room by P5, but no such reference was made for the Demon Painter.

Igor is almost impossible to pin down since his name is really old and dolls have existed everywhere since almost forever. Since he is sometimes referenced as powering the Velvet Room, I just placed the creation of velvet itself as a possible start for the timeframe of his creation. Can't have the Velvet Room without velvet being a thing.

Now, is the Velvet Room the same as the Black Lodge? Nah. But for fun we can imagine that Mark Frost and David Lynch have been to the Velvet Room.

If Tsumi to Batsu isn't canon, what happened to the Red and Black Books?

I believe the fun part lies in their unknown whereabouts, which serves as fuel for fanfics and other stories. For all we know they're in the hands of an unknown Persona User and/or another mysterious organization. Who knows? I mostly included them to fully connect Jung to Philemon and explain why he seems like such an important human to the latter. Igor may have begun to interact with humans under his master's orders and in part to look for the potential owners of the Books, but he ended up growing fond of his guests and attendants.

On a side note, can you imagine Philemon's heart attack when "The Red Book: Liber Novus" was published and mass produced in 2009? Before realizing, "Ah, this is just Jung's diary, not the magic book". Then again, the publisher was called Philemon Foundation, so we might have a case of ghost company in our hands.

Why did Stephen upload the Demon Summoning Program to a single high school instead of sending mass e-mails like in SMT?

I have a few theories: The first one is that there wasn't an urgency to gather Demon Summoners for an upcoming apocalypse. According to semi-canon sources, Thorman and Gotou existed at some point in the Persona Universe, but either due to Kandori's capitalist machinations or as a consequence between Phil and Nyarly's bet, they were never able to truly gain power. Adding this to my second theory, that Stephen used to attend Karukozaka high school, would explain why he tentatively only uploaded it to his old school's servers. Less desperation and more indirect experimentation, one might say. This would also explain why he became more of an offscreen mentor to Tamaki once she gained the program, since Stephen would have more time to continue developing and experimenting with it. One successful user was enough for now.

Personally, I believe he ended up working for the Nanjo Group after P1, who sponsored this and any future projects he had until his death. Considering he is apparently a trascendent entity, this cushy existence would have been a nice break from the other universes.

Wouldn't it be fun if Stephen was the original creator of beta Evokers but set aside the project due to the lack of a "supernatural power source"? And this project ended up in hands of the Kirijo Group after they split from the Nanjo Group? And then Kouetsu Kirijo only had to finish it by adding the Plumes of Dusk?

What was Nyx doing at St. Hermelin, anyway?

This is something I struggled with. In the end, I settled for someone finding a large Plume of Dusk, thinking it was a pretty rock, and getting the Snow Queen Mask made out of it. A Plume of Dusk this big ended up attracting a lot of Nyx' psyche, which made a mess when combined with Drama Club teenage girls as seen in the number of victims. In the end, it evolved into the Snow Queen Curse. For all we know, the Mask was trying to use the girls as puppets to help bring the Fall, but Nyx' psyche always got to them and they committed suicide soon after.

Personally, I would have stopped producing the Snow Queen at my school after the first two deaths, but to each their own.

Which war did Masataka Amano die in?

This is a huge supposition on my part since even the dates are approximates. I have four contenders: the Falklands War, the 1982 Lebanon War, the Second Sudanese Civil War, or the Sri Lankan Civil War. Pick your poison.

The game says that Gekkoukan was founded after the Kirijo Group laboratory exploded around 1999. The school logo says that Gekkoukan was founded in 1982. What is the truth?

The way I made this work was by making the original founding of Gekkoukan in 1982, like in the logo. Maybe it started as an actual learning insitution, where the graduates would have a possible career in the Kirijo Group. After the entire Death ordeal, they decided to hide the old labs by building a better state-of-the-art school building on top and relocating Gekkoukan there.

the steady drum of volleyballs hitting the hardwood floor distracts atsumu's thoughts for a while. soles squeaking, teammates shouting, and the tune of the coach's whistle bouncing off of the walls. he's finally out of his head.

but, as always, the regular discussions in the locker room pull him right back in.

"how long has it been? three months? and you still haven't asked her out?"

atsumu hums, shutting his locker and giving hinata an exhausted look. "yeah, since before christmas."

"what's the hold-up?" bokuto pats atsumu on the back with wiggling eyebrows. "is little 'tsumie afraid?"

that makes him irritated. he knows he should have made things official weeks ago. the badgering isn't helping, though.

"shut up," he huffs and hides a frown with the hoodie that's pulled over his head. "until ya get a girlfriend kotaro, i don't wanna hear shit."

bokuto whistles. "okay, okay. but seriously, what's the issue?"

atsumu thinks for a second. he's honestly not really sure. he's been meaning to, he just can't find the right time.

but, he's pretty sure that's just an excuse.

"you don't have an excuse miya," sakusa smirks as they walk towards the parking lot. "i agree kotaro, i think he's scared."

"no!" atsumu quips, a little quickly. "i mean, i don't know. i really don't know. i want to, i just...can't."

"is it her? does she want to? are you getting mixed signals?" hinata rests against the hood of his car.

"no, she's always happy to talk to me. she gets excited to see me, buys me dinner, and responds immediately. she's perfect."

"soooo," sakusa raises his eyebrows. atsumu sighs.

"i just don't want to disappoint her."

his stomach flips. he's thought about it for months at this point. he wanted to make you his before the first date was over. but, his past got in the way, clouding his confidence just a touch.

past girls using him for the little money he makes. some girls accusing him of spending too much time at volleyball, and not providing enough attention. others just in it for attention, lusting after the instagram posts and twitter updates with their faces in them.

atsumu wants you to be his, and he doesn't want you to leave.

"atsumu, it's been three months. i think she knows you by now. besides, if she was interested in you for the wrong reasons, wouldn't she have left by now?" bokuto's words help atsumu to relax a little.

"yeah, yer right. god, what do i even do? i feel like a fuckin' high schooler," he whines, throwing his bag into his car.

"you're in luck. valentine's day is tomorrow, which means you have the perfect reason," sakusa slides into his car. "c'mon miya, where's your romantic side?"

atsumu thinks about that the entire drive home. he doesn't know what to do. he considers taking you out to a nice dinner, somewhere fancy and luxurious. but, reservations have probably been booked for months. he thinks about using a card, but that's lame. really, he wants to call you for advice, just like he does with everything, but that won't work.

he throws himself on his bed with a sigh.

maybe he'll never ask.

little does he know, you're in the same boat.

sitting cross-legged in the middle of your bedroom floor, you look like an art project gone wrong. glue sticks, markers, and different shades of pink cardstock litter the ground hiding the failed cards and notes from before. you sigh, putting the finishing touches on what you hope to be the final product.

a small, pink card with a bumble bee and hearts with the words bee mine in shaky cursive underneath. you're still deciding what to fill the inside with.

you don't want to say too much, but you also want to make sure you get your feelings out. it's been almost six weeks, and atsumu still hasn't made things official with you. you see him at least three times a week, he takes you to dinner but never calls them dates. he invites you to parties, event dinners, and even took you to his cousin's wedding last weekend.

what's taking him so long?

as soon as you see the clock on the wall, you groan. atsumu should be here any minute, and you haven't written a word on his card yet. he asked you if he could come over tonight, saying he was dying to see ya. since it's the night before valentines, you decide this may be your only shot. you quickly scribble something down, hearing his footsteps through the thin walls of your apartment. quick hands shove the evidence into a garbage bag before you scurry to wash up.

"honey, i'm home!" atsumu sings as he opens the door. "wait! close yer eyes!"

"why should i listen to someone who just entered my home without permission?" you say, eyes firmly closed from your spot on the couch.

"yet, ya listened anyway huh?" he teases when you flip him off from the couch. "keep em' closed pretty. i'm not ready yet."

your heart beats a little quicker. "o-okay, but i have to tell you something."

"alright sweetheart. just a second," he grunts, tripping over the strings of the five heart balloons that he holds in his left hand. he shuffles over to you at sets down a container of chocolate-covered strawberries (that he had to beg osamu to make), and a dozen roses. you smile when you hear the crinkle of cellophane.

atsumu's stomach is doing flips, but he can't do this anymore.

"okay, you can open." his voice sounds a lot more nervous than he would've liked. when you open them, he can't quite read your face.

"atsumu," you breathe. you aren't sure where to look.

"i know, it's a lot, but listen," he flops down next to you, grabbing your hands in his. "i didn't want to be lame but, i just wanted to tell you."

"okay," you ease him on. he takes a deep breath, before smiling wide.

"i think that ya have got to be the most beautiful girl i have ever seen in my life," he looks at you with hearts in his eyes. "from the moment i met ya, i wanted to make ya mine. i want to be the one ya come home to after a long day, i want to see ya in the stands during my games with my jersey on," his cheeks get a little pink.

"i want ya to be mine. my girlfriend."

"atsumu," you breathe, just like before. this time is a little more shaky, but with a bigger smile. "i want to be yours. i want you to be mine."

he laughs running his hand through his hair. "really?"

you nod, holding his face in your hands.

"really," you smile, pulling him in for a kiss. atsumu doesn't pull away until he absolutely has to, wanting to drown in this moment and keep it forever.

"baby, i don't think ya know how happy i am right now," he really can't stop smiling, no matter how hard he tries. he feels like a weight has been lifted off of his chest, amazed at the instant relief he feels after telling you.

"you didn't have to do all of this!" you pull at the balloons, watching them bounce off of one another.

"yes i did! plus, ya gotta try one of these. my brother made 'em and they're amazin'." you reach down to grab one, but he stops you.

"let me grab one!" you giggle, but he smirks.

"what's in your hand?"

you freeze, forgetting all about the card that rests between your fingertips.

"nothing."

"oh c'mon angel, lemme see!"

you shake your head, but he persists.

"why not!"

"because it's stupid, especially compared to all of this!" you gesture towards the flowers and berries.

"please," he begs, giving you a large pout. you roll your eyes.

"fine, but save the comments for yourself. i worked really hard on it."

atsumu pulls the card from it's envelope slowly before giving a quiet gasp.

"i know, i know, it looks like a preschooler did it. just give it back and-"

"are ya kidding me?" he practically shrieks. "this is goin' straight on my locker. 'gonna tape it right to the front."

"are you serious?"

"mhm," he hums, smirking when he reads the inside of the card.

happy valentine's day atsumu. you're the most handsome man i've ever met, and the funniest too. i hope that you will "bee mine" once and for all.

"what's so funny?"

"nothin', i'm just thinkin' that you might have a crush on me."

you roll your eyes, scooching a little closer to him on the couch. he wraps his arms around you and plants a kiss on top of your head.

"for the record, i have a crush on ya too. a huge one."

Bandai Combines Godzilla, Evangelion, Ultraman, And Kamen Rider Into Shin Japan Heroes Universe

A new Shin Japan Heroes Universe figure project has been announced. The world of pop culture scene is no stranger to crossovers, and there have been some tasteful collaborations that turned out to be a dream come true for fans. Bandai’s latest robot toy, the S.J.H.U PROJECT Shin Universe Robo 

Released as part of the Shin Japan Heroes Universe collaboration project, it physically combines iconic characters and machines from the Shin Godzilla, Shin Evangelion (Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 Thrice Upon a Time), Shin Ultraman, and Shin Kamen Rider movies. The announcement took the form of a new 3D CG short, directed by legendary tokusatsu — meaning “special effects”, but is colloquially used to describe shows starring costumed superheroes — filmmaker Hiroshi Butsuda (Super Sentai, Kamen Rider series), and features the song “Tsumi to Batsu Inorazaru Mono yo (Crime and Punishment, Those who don’t pray) by Neon Genesis Evangelion theme singer Yoko Takahashi. In it, Godzilla, Ultraman, Kamen Rider 1, and Eva-08 are seen joining forces to defeat a common enemy, before infusing into one shared body. While the execution isn’t all that bad in the two-minute video, the look certainly didn’t carry over well to the product line, particularly where proportions are concerned.

Two of the first three Neon Genesis Evangelion soundtrack releases between 1995 and 1996 featured new songs performed by Takahashi Yoko and written by Oikawa Neko (of The Cruel Angel's Thesis). The songs were titled yokan ("Premonition" - released on the album NEON GENESIS EVANGELION Ⅱ, February 1996), shiawase wa tsumi no nioi, and mugen houyou ("Happiness Smells of Sin" and "Eternal Embrace" - both released on NEON GENESIS EVANGELION Ⅲ, May 1996). None of them appeared in the show, though the latter two would become the opening theme to 2001's The Ayanami Raising Project and the ending theme of 2003's Girlfriend of Steel 2, respectively, both PC games.

shiawase wa tsumi no nioi seems to have the strongest lyrical connection to the themes of the series, being - as the title suggests - a sort of meditation on how happiness often comes at the expense of another, and how people hurt one another without realising it. The other two songs are more straightforward romantic love songs, albeit ones still tinged with melancholy and longing.

Anyways, I'm hoping to write up some more in-depth lyrical analysis on them soon, but I'd definitely recommend listening to them if you're a fan of the show and haven't yet! It took me a while to discover them, as for a while those second two OST albums weren't available on the streaming services I used.

incoherent rambling about Shion Sonozaki

Writing this as someone who’s still reading the game (I’m in the middle of Tsumi) but MAN I think Meakashi is one of the best things I have ever read and extremely tragic and Shion’s characterization really blew me me away. She is one of the best portrays of a mentally ill and traumatized person I’ve ever seen and they take the “risk” of making her do and think some very horrid things yet mange to not demonize her mental illness and not link it with villainy. She’s bitter and easily jealous and often projects on the people around her. She has this anger inside of her a part of her that wishes that everyone was as miserable as she was even people who’ve done nothing to her. And by the end of Meakashi she killed a lot of people. Some was revenge against her abusers and some was for survival. But she also killed because she wanted to drag everyone down to hell with her. Perhaps in her mind killing people like Mion and Kimiyoshi was also revenge. Weather it be her inferiority complex and chance at a good life or that she desperately wanted them to defend and stick up for her and they failed to protect her. And felt betrayed by the people who cared about her as the love she received throughout her life was very inconsistent  I could go on how the arc carefully writes all the moves she makes. What specifically leads her to murder someone and all the build ups to her murders cause they’re all VERY considerately handled. It never felt like she went out of her way to just go and kill someone there was always steps towards it that made her tick until that idea in her head won her over and she took her chance. But while l I adore how a lot of Shion’s "ugly” traits are handled she also has this childish, naïve, purity about her that’s truly heart breaking. Yes, Shion does a lot of absolutely horrible things in this arc and even at the beginning of it you can definitely tell there’s something “wrong” with her. She thinks in a very unempathetic or apathetic way about a lot of things. She’s desensitized to violence due to her upbringing and thinks cruel things like how she wouldn’t care if Satoko died or thought she should die for Satoshi. But it’s not just hate for the world she holds but hate for herself and existence most of all. After all she’s really just a kid who was abused. She feels like her bitterness towards her family is unjust and does genuinely know how horrible her desires to do something about it are and hates herself for. She wants to defend herself but she feels like she’s invalid in her anger and internalized this idea from her family that she IS the problem and suffers intense self loathing. There’s also the side of her that genuinely wants to get along with her family because their her family. She holds onto this innocent idea that somewhere deep inside they must care about her and even they would have their limits. And the fact that her family can flipflop between being kind to her and being cruel to her fed into her naivety. And While it’s not hard at all to grasp Shion’s bitterness towards her family there’s never a moment in Meakashi where she has an emotional breakdown about the targets of her abuse like Oryou. She pours her heart out on how she misses Satoshi, how she projects her jealousy and anger onto both Mion and Satoko but Oryou or any other member of the Sonozaki family never get that despite being the ones that hurt her the most. Heck if you look at the text Shion never directly spells out why she did what she did. And I think it’s cause Shion downplays her abuse to herself. Heck Shion gets very self loathing monologues directed at herself and over her abusers. She’s internalized the fact that she’s a mistake. I think the demon allegory she internalizes when having an identity crisis is interesting for this reason. She never has a bitter monologue about how she turned out this way and blaming the people who were truly responsible. I genuinely don’t think Shion would have ever murdered anyone if she didn’t have someone to hide behind as an excuse. And while Satoshi is the absolute PERFECT candidate for this scenario with how similar they are and in her eyes he’s “free of sin” I can totally see her doing it for others if things went different. While Mion and Satoko were objects of Shion’s jealousy and anger for her I could also totally see her murder on their behave to in the right circumstances. Because convincing herself she was standing up for someone innocent and acting selflessly and unconsciously doing what she wanted someone to do for her was the only way she felt validated in her desires. Nearing the end of Meakashi her mind is an absolute mess. On the surface (Which is also her true feelings to an extent) it looks like she’s having this high of ecstasy and sadistic pleasure as she finally is able to let out all her pent up anger and fight back. But she’s also a mess. She feels absolutely horrible for what she’s done. There’s a lot of things about Shion that makes her feel like she’s detached herself from reality because of how empty and isolated she feels  and I think she’s disassociating from the horror she’s caused by indulging in her sadistic pleasure and getting lost in her identity crisis and all the confusion she’s feeling. 

 But despite that she really does want to be caught and is desperate to be figured out. And latches onto Rena for support and pulls at straws with things Keiichi says she wants SOMETHING 

and not just that but also that someone will love and accept her for her and not just Mion. She wants to be seen for who she is and someone to tell her that she DOES have a place in the world. She both loves and hates the things Keiichi says to her in the final stretch as while they touch her heart. It strings because these words weren’t truly meant for her and she knows that. And by the end her mind is so muddled and she’s exhausted and kills herself from the guilt. Aaaa this post is such an incoherent mess and ended abruptly but I love Shion Sonozaki

this is an account for the project sekai au comic project tsumi!! this is ichika’s design for the comic, she’s one of the mcs :D every main character’s design is on my page!! their full refs are coming soon, there’s only one person behind this ,,,

I saw your comment on charlietulips post about the project Sekai Collab with Evillious, the original Japanese for the gacha (The thing in the picture, not the event) is "Tsumi no kaiko-roku" (罪の回顧録) which means "Memoirs of Sin", but they turned the 'Sin' into 'Wrongdoings' (Probably because the game is 9+) even though 罪 can only mean something like sin / fault / offense / crime, not something as light as a 'wrongdoing'. Especially when 罪 in Evillious usually only refers to 'Sin'.

Yeah, you're right!

For the gacha, the assigned name was 罪の回顧録 which should be translated as "memoirs of sin".

Now, the kanji 罪 (I don't why the keyboard doesn't represent it correctly: the kanji has a slightly curvy stroke on the left) doesn't have to be necessarily translated as "sin" to be correct: the kanji can express different words around the same general meaning (like many more in japanese, as far as I've noticed when translating those "quartets of evil" skits).

For our case, the "tsumi" kanji can be translated in many different ways, words that all around the concept of "doing something wrong" in both the everyday or even criminal sense.

For this kind of vagueness, a translator must rely on the context of the expression, in order to translate correctly.

As for the other word (回顧録), that looks like a compound word (as there are a few in japanese, like that: you take two kanjis with different meanings and you put them together to form a word which meaning joins the one of the separate words).

For this case, 回顧 (kaiko) is defined as "recollection" (remembrance, memories), while 録 is translated as "record".

Putting those two together, you get 回顧録 (record of recollections, record of memories), which is a "memoir". I think that one is the correct translation.

But as for "tsumi" being translated as "wrongdoing"...it's not really wrong per se, since tsumi is a general word with the general meaning of "wrong action", "doing something wrong", as we have seen: it can even mean "fault", which has a lighter connotation than "sin" and "crime".

Despite that, I don't think it's a fitting translation for the context of evillious: the series is all about a re-elaboration of the concept of the "seven deadly sins", not the "seven deadly wrongdoings" (which is an incorrect use of the term).

A translation like that just inappropriately plucks out the core of the series and the concept from which it derives its existence, for the sake of what? Protecting children as young as 9?

But does it actually serve its purpose by giving the wrong idea of what the series is about? I don't think so.

Or maybe, this translation was made in order to avoid the religious reference about the catholic doctrine of the "seven deadly sins"? That may be another reason.

Still...I think it's a deceitful translation that tries to sugar coat what the series is actually about; that's not beneficial to anybody, since a person can also get the wrong idea about the actual kind of contents evillious has to offer, that are much, much darker than what the vague sugar-coated word "wrongdoing" entails.

I've said this a lot in the last few years in my life but those excessive politically-correct campaigns usually do more harm than good.

You can't expect to protect anybody by lying to them. That's the opposite of protection (if they actually aim to protect people at all): it's deception.

(about Sudou and Suou)here is the thing, Sudou is completely insane cause of Nyarlathotep, he dont even know what these voices are and Suou didnt really put any effort into saving him despite knowing what Nyarl has done. I understand why the gang may not want anything to do with Sudou but again his action was not his since it was all Nyarl doing. Nyarl managed to completely breaking him and chatting with Sudou for few mins wont undo it. Sad the timid boy who wanted to be a poet got it worse.

GOD THANK YOU. I wish more fans would realize that Sudou isn't mentally ill but his "insanity" is purely the product of Nyarlathotep. Tatsuya Sudou is literally just. Some Kid. Nobody particularly special in the grand scheme of things.

He straight up says in P2EP that murder (in quite a gruesome fashion) is the only way to make the "voices" more manageable.

The extra scenario in the EP remake gives us a bit more insight into how Suou views Sudou [translation credit]:

Tatsuya: So you’re JOKER on this side… Tatsuya Sudou. Seems like something “he’d” do.

...

Sudou: I’m a stand-in, y’know, a stand-in. Just ‘til the real one graces me with his awakening. The real JOKER ain’t me. You’d know that beeeeest of all though, wouldn’t’cha?

Tatsuya: …Yeah. Jun isn’t a filthy murderer like you.

...

Tatsuya: Lay just one finger on Maya-nee and I swear I’ll hunt you down and kill you like the dog you are. Every time, in every world…!

Sudou: An’ whose fault is it that bitch died, huhh? Whose fault is it the other side got blown to hell!?

Tatsuya: Shut up…!

Suou obviously holds a lot of contempt towards Sudou, but as Sudou points out, Suou is projecting a bit.

In fact, Suou throws out another line in an attempt to reason with Suou:

Tatsuya: Sudou, it’s not too late; you can still start over. Don’t listen to “his” voice any longer…!

But like you said, a simple conversation isn't going to be enough to break Sudou from Nyarlathotep's spell.

Quite frankly, I'm not sure what would be enough in Sudou's case. Jun was able to do so because of his immense care for Maya. Kandori didn't quite escape Nyarlathotep's grasp, but he was clearly able to use his last bit of free will available in Deva Yuga to keep the true Maki, the only person he came to love in the end, safe inside the physical manifestation of his heart and desires.

Sudou... doesn't really have anyone that he cares that much about. Possibly Kashihara in the Tsumi timeline, but Kashihara was just about as insane as Sudou is and really just exploited him for what he falsely believed was the Oracle of Maia.

I really, really wish Sudou got a happier ending. Yeah, yeah, serial arsonist and murderer. Whatever. Like you said, his actions were not his own. Noriko knowingly, willingly, and without remorse contracted the murder of two people. The girl saw that the JOKER call was legit and was like "hey, lemme do that again". I do really like her character but like. I just wish Sudou was given that same leniency in the story for actions that he had no control over. He really did nothing wrong and deserved so much better.

Fushimi gets bullied and Yata saves him and they became friends. Yata thinks Fushimi is cool and can do amazing things and Fushimi wants Yata to never think badly of him or he thinks he'd lose Yata. Niki finds out about his son's new friend and decides to ruin Yata's perception of Fushimi by exposing what he knows as his son's faults for fun. Fushimi thinks he's lost Yata but it turns out Yata doesn't care about that and still likes him. Inspired by the song "Tsumi no Namae" by Hatsune Miku/ryo

Oh I could see this happening, like Niki just laughing and telling Yata all the bad things that Fushimi does, his poor habits and bad attitude and all the negative things he can think of, all in this teasing tone while Fushimi sits there with his fists clenched feeling powerless. Like imagine this some time after Yata takes care of Fushimi when he's sick, like they're just beginning to get really close and Fushimi's started clinging to Yata without realizing it. Even though Fushimi has a bad attitude he always wants Yata to think he's cool and that he's someone amazing, like Fushimi only makes plans that won't fail because if they did Yata might not be interested in him anymore. And part of him is always worried that Yata will make other friends who don't have Fushimi's hang-ups and then why would he want Fushimi to stick around when he has other people who are so much better (wait, this scenario is starting to sound familiar...). Fushimi does his best to keep Yata away from Niki especially because he's afraid Niki will break this thing that's become precious to him, he can't stand the idea that Yata might be another precious thing that gets ruined by Niki.

Even so they do occasionally hang out at Fushimi's place, Fushimi has a general idea of when Niki usually shows up and he'll allow Yata to come over only if no one's home. One day they're at Fushimi's place and instead of being in his room like usual maybe they're working on some sort of school project right near the front door, with stuff laid out all over. Fushimi leaves for a minute to go to the bathroom and that's when Niki shows up, all amused to see Saruhiko's friend is still here. Fushimi reappears and tries to get Yata to leave but Niki thinks they haven't even started having fun yet, he notices how desperate Fushimi seems and wonders if Fushimi's afraid that Niki will show Yata embarrassing pictures. There's something in the way Fushimi flinches that gives Niki an idea and he smirks like oh wait, maybe we can share secrets, why don't I tell your friend all the things only I know about my little monkey.

So then Niki starts listing all Fushimi's faults, all the times Fushimi messed up or pushed people away, how Fushimi's rude to anyone who tries to befriend him and how pathetic he really is (all of this said fondly, like Niki just loves his worthless little monkey). Fushimi finally manages to shove Yata out the door and Niki laughs even harder, Fushimi retreats up to his room and just throws blankets over his head as he sits there hunched, thinking Yata won't ever want to see him again now. But then the next day Yata's sitting in his desk by Fushimi's, chatty and bright and smiling like nothing happened at all. Fushimi's kinda on edge, waiting for the other shoe to drop, but Yata keeps acting like this is just any other day and that Fushimi is still his best friend.

Finally Fushimi can't take it anymore and imagine as they're on their way home Fushimi just stops and asks isn't Yata going to say something, about all the things 'that guy' talked to him about. Yata gets this serious look as he asks if Niki is still at Fushimi's house, and if he is Fushimi should come stay at Yata's for a while. Fushimi's all confused and Yata grabs his hand and says Fushimi is his best friend and he doesn't care about Fushimi's faults, he's still the coolest guy Yata's ever met. Fushimi's eyes get a little wide and Yata grins and says what kind of friend would he be if he left Fushimi over something like that, after all Yata's got all his faults too and Fushimi doesn't care about those.
