The Car Incident - A BNHA Next Gen Fic

So this is my piece for @protobnhaweek day 6! I didn’t have much inspo for this event but this was the one prompt I just HAD to do something for.

It’s an unbetaed ficlet, but it was one I had a lot of fun writing. It’s a scenario that me and my friends have been discussing for ages.

Hinata and Yuuki are Yamikumo’s kids with canon Katsuki. Natsuki and her briefly mentioned sister are the kids of proto!Katsuki and a friend’s OC, Rokku.

Just a note to add that we say that genealogists have somehow been able to make it so they can mix the DNA of two eggs or two lots of sperm so same-sex couples can have children that are biologically both of theirs. Surrogacy and sperm donors are still very much the necessary thing but the baby will basically have three parents.

Okay! Now on with this fic.

The problem with having superheroes for parents was that they never let you do anything fun.

"Dad, can I borrow the car? I think I could use my quirk to make it fly!"

Katsuki looked up from his phone to study his son carefully…before promptly bursting out laughing.

"Fuck no! That's not safe, kiddo. Maybe start with your bike." Katsuki paused for a second. "Make sure you wear your helmet."

Hinata scowled, stomping up to his room. There was no point in asking his other dad. Many knew the great Yamikumo as reckless, but he wasn't going to be letting a 14-year-old borrow a car either. He'd just hoped for a second…

Ugh.

Training his quirk was important, and he knew his parents agreed with that. They helped him train in their own ways, and their friends and family did too. So it was rare that an idea to do so was thrown back at him like that. He didn't like it. He knew it was possibly dangerous, but he was certain that he could do it.

He flopped onto his bed, pulling out his phone. It was a good job that he still had plan b.

The problem was that Hinata's quirk wasn't flashy. His telekinesis was strong, but no one was walking about wishing they could just call items over to them. He'd worked hard so he could lift a lot. So making the weight of the car float? Not a worry. He wasn't sure how long he could do it, but that was fine. 

That was what he'd wanted to see.

He'd shot a message over to his best friend and basically his cousin, Natsuki. And she'd be over as soon as his dads were out.

An hour passed, and Hinata was welcoming Natsuki inside. Her black pigtails bounced on her shoulders as she looked around the hall.

"You're sure no one's home? Ren and Dad said if I get in trouble one more time this month... I'm grounded. And then, Ichika will make me hang out with her."

Hinata rolled his eyes, looking around himself. For a second he thought he saw a flash of green, but when he blinked, it was gone. He shrugged.

"We're good. And the car's still here since the Dads are meeting up after work, so they'll both be on the bike. This might be our only chance."

Natsuki huffed, before gesturing for Hinata to lead the way. Her face broke into a massive grin as she did so.

"Lead the way Hinachan."

He scoffed at the nickname but led her into the garage. He opened the garage door as she used her quirk to not only get the car open…but started too. Unlocking might not be flashy, but, boy, was it useful.

A crash in the house grabbed both of their attention though.

Hinata ran inside, Natsuki on his heels, ready to claim they hadn't been doing anything. But it was nothing. A picture had just fallen off the wall.

Still, they spent a few minutes looking around as Hinata locked up, just to make sure they were alone.

They were.

Back to the car they went, Natsuki getting in the passenger seat and Hinata, the driver.

His hand rested on the console, his eyes closed for a second. He focused on the weight of the metal, on lifting it into the air. Of a car flying through the air. And it started to float. They kept low to the ground as they left the garage. But soon, they were on the way.

"This is so awesome!"

The cry from the backseat made both Hinata and Natsuki jump. He looked over his shoulder for a second and swore. 

In the backseat sat a nine-year-old girl with short green hair. She was leaning forward in her seat, practically beaming at the older kids, but no one could deny the mischief in her red eyes.

"Yuuki?!! When the fuck did you get there!"

She shrugged.

"When you and Nacchan ran back inside."

The picture…she'd probably knocked it off with one of her floating explosions! Fuck!

"You're going home."

"No, I'm not. We're going to McDonald's."

Hinata so wanted to turn around and glare, but he had to keep his eyes on the- road? Sky? Whatever. He settled for glaring through the mirror instead.

Next to him, Natsuki cleared her throat, avoiding his gaze as she looked out her own window.

"Actually…she might be right. Not about Mcdonald's, though that sounds good. If you park this thing on the ground, are you gonna be able to get it in the air again?"

Hinata turned to glare at her for her betrayal. Then he sighed.

"I'll probably need a meal first. You're right."

Yuuki squealed from the backseat.

Ugh. Sisters.

They were nearly at the Mcdonald's, and Hinata was struggling.

The weight of the car and three people in it was a lot. If he was honest, he was probably only still going out of sheer stubbornness and adrenaline.

He could see people on the ground, pointing up at them and taking pictures. It was pretty awesome.

It should probably have hit him that some people would be less impressed by his actions. People who might report him to the authorities. And those authorities might speak to the heroes on patrol to bring them down.

He was just getting ready to lower them when he heard the sound of explosions, and then someone was in the air next to the car.

Someone very familiar. 

"Hinata Akatani Bakugou! What the fuck do you think you're doing up here?" 

Next to him, Natsuki looked like she was sinking down in her seat, and he imagined Yuuki was as well.

"Don't think you two are getting off scot-free. Your dad is down there Natsuki. We were on patrol today. And Yuuki, why didn't you call us to let us know what was going on?"

Yuuki mumbled something. 

"What?"

"I said I wanted a McDonalds," she repeated glumly.

Their Dad snorted and patted the car door.

"Yeah, don't think you'll be having any fast food treats over the next few weeks. Get down into the spot we've cordoned off. Now."

Hinata groaned and slowly started to release the hold on his power. By the time the wheels hit the ground, he was exhausted, and he could see both parents glaring at them from one window. Uncle Cherry Bomb was on the other side.

Fuck.

"We should've driven into the country," Natsuki whispered. 

Hinata didn't have the energy to argue. Natsuki chambered out of her seat and out to her Dad. Hinata unclipped his seat belt, but he couldn't bring himself to move further. The door opened, and his other Dad poked his head in, sighing as he helped him out of the seat to move him into the back seat. Hinata barely noticed he was in his civilian clothes.

"I'm finished for the day, so I'll be driving you both home. But you'll be hearing about this when we're all home later. Why the fuck did you think it was okay to do something so reckless?" 

"Wanted to test my quirk, and it sounded fun?"

Yamikumo frowned down at him as he strapped him in.

"Maybe next time you want to try something so major you should make sure you do it when adults are around. That way we can ensure it's legal," he replied dryly.

Hinata huffed quietly.

There was no way he was going to admit his dad had a point.

At first, I couldn’t figure out which I liked more. I don’t really have favorites when it comes to ships, so I was torn between KatsuYami, KatsuYuu and YamiYuu. But then, I realized. Why not all three?  And that’s the power of polyamory, baby.   (👉⌐■‿■)👉

Another thing I couldn’t decide was whether Yami would have similar scars to Deku or not, since paralleling their experiences wouldn’t be completely accurate. That’s why I left it blank AND decided to leave a blank slate for all of you to edit to your liking! Blank slate is below the cut! By the way, Yamikumo’s shirt just says “Holy Shit”.

Prompt: 27th - Twisting the Reality | Twin AU

It's the 28th for me, but I'm going to pretend I didn't fall asleep while I worked on this late last night/early morning.

In this AU, Midoriya is in the Support Department while Yamikumo is in Gen Ed! Midoriya is friends with both Shinsou and Mei, while Shinsou and Yamikumo have not befriended each other despite being in the same class.

Day 2 of @protobnhaweek - Canon Counterparts! I decided to go with Bakugou Squared, since it's the most explosive combo, and I wanted to draw something silly. You can't tell me that proto!Katsuki doesn't see his doppelganger and immediately decide to be friends, to hell with the consequences.
