its terrifying that no matter what, even subconsciously, we place ourselves and others into cages which are our schemas about them. these enclosures limit our perceptions of people to the conclusions we draw about them. this is a result of an evolutionary habit to try and understand concepts through patterns and categorizing stimuli.
