I do not have a set roleplaying schedule. There are some days where I'll be lurking on the dash but don't have a whole lot of muse, days where I have a lot of muse and get a lot of replies / starters out, or days where I'm not online at all.

I do not roleplay via Tumblr IMs. I use the IM system for OOC communication only.

You need to at least have a rules page + list of muses (if multimuse) with their basic information. Otherwise, I will not write with you.

Please, please cut your posts. (This is easy to do on desktop but harder to do on mobile.)

My blog is very oriented for desktop Tumblr: I have custom theme enabled, and there are a lot of tags/pages on my blog that are difficult to view in the mobile app.

My writing style for threads is third-person limited, past tense, prose. The fanciest I get for formatting is small font.

re: Damon

He is based in Charmed (1998) and is not human. His species, Darklighters, are Underworld beings tasked with assassinating Whitelighters and humans destined to become Whitelighters --- aka guardian angels for good witches.

His sense of morality is very Neutral Evil. There's a write-up on what exactly this means here and how his morality alignment compares to other alignments here.

He is not a good person and doesn't really try to be one.

His primary function as a certain breed of Darklighter is to seduce and impregnate cisgender human women destined to become Whitelighters, preventing them from doing the good needed to gain Whitelighter status and as a bonus spreading the influence of evil and raising a new generation of Darklighters.

Currently, in the mortal world, he is the lead singer in a gothic rock band. Their lyrics are in both German and English (but primarily German).

Since he is originally from Germany (1800s Lower Saxony, to be specific), he does still speak the language (as well as his native language of Northern Low German) and will code-switch between English and Standard German. There are also a lot of mannerisms he has that are very culturally German.

Damon is demiromantic bisexual. He is very kinky and has a high sex drive, but romantic attraction is not something that comes easily to him.

Kinda a PSA, but mostly an explanation to clear up a misconception that may or may not have formed. This doesn’t apply to anyone I’ve fully plotted with, got to the starter preparing point with, concluded plotting with, written with before, anyone I have made a starter for, anyone who has made a starter for me, haven’t got beyond introductions with or anyone I’ve literally just encountered. This may eventually make it into my rules if I believe that will help for future reference. Below this read more for now!

The following information has been relevant since my 2022 revamp and onwards. Not prior that year. Clarification wise.

Just in case anyone who is following that I haven’t written anything with thinks I’m using them to boost my follower count, that is not the case. In order for me to be able to form muse for and to be able to write this muse, I need to have a complete discussion that involves me getting through three explanations of information essential to this muse / interacting with them. With discussions regarding the sent explanation before I move onto the next explanation, then rinse and repeat until all three are done. Then I’m ready and one of us will start. I will not and never will send all three explanations of information at once. That would be too much information to digest in one read.

The first explanation goes over how and why my muse will generally meet other people, unless I have a specific ideas when it comes to your muse. The second explanation goes over how dynamics uniquely work with my muse. The third explanation goes over what my muse looks like appearance wise and explains how I write. I’m patient so I understand people being busy and forgettable, but I’m nowhere near the sharpest person. If you stop responding before I get to any of the explanations, in the middle of them or before I know what your thoughts are after each, then I’m going to patiently wait for you to do so, assume you’re busy, assume you’ve forget or assume you will eventually. Basically as far as my mind is concerned assumption wise, we’re still plotting. Cause until we’ve actually discussed those three explanations and decided who is going to start, then I can’t progrsss. I won’t be able to form any muse for you.

So it’s not that I don’t want to write with you. It’s not that using you for a follower count. I do want to write with you and I’m not using you for a follower count. It’s that as far as my brain is concerned, we either haven’t had the necessary discussion yet for me to form and have the muse to write with you or we’re still in the middle of it. It doesn’t matter whether I last sent a message to you in 2022, 2023 or 2024, I’m in limbo waiting to get through my three essential explanations of information and basically at a stand still. I hope this clears up any concerns over my interest in writing with any of you. I do want to, genuinely. Thanks for reading.

NAME : Kris

PRONOUNS : She/her

PREFERENCE OF COMMUNICATION : Tumblr IMs and Discord. My Discord I’m only comfortable giving out if we’ve already established a bit of a rapport so I generally like to wait a little regarding ooc chatting before offering or giving it to someone.

MOST ACTIVE MUSE : It can change but lately it’s almost always a dragon and second is a fae. I think a lot of that is because they’re part of groups with dynamics with other muses of mine that I can also have fun with incorporating. Even if it’s just them chatting or talking about recent events. Haha, I really like connected stuff so it’s a surprise I don’t have more connected muses.

EXPERIENCE / HOW MANY YEARS : A side blog for about a month before I took the plunge and made this one! Leeeetttt’s seeeeeee, like 2015? I was a senior in high school and I’ve been here suffering ever since!

BEST EXPERIENCE : Absolutely absolutely the worlds and friendships I’ve made here. Some of my favorite years here were getting to create so much with @thewolfisawake​ and a friend who’s unfortunately no longer online. Kirei and I have been friends basically since I started and oh man, the love explosion I could go on about. Eight years this year! My rotten soldier, my sweet cheese, my good-time gal, she’s been with me through the best and worst days of my life and I cannot ever begin to truly articulate how much our friendship means to me.

Getting a little less sappy, even though our third friend is no longer around, I’ve felt so honored to have still been able to make connections here and getting to create new worlds, new plots, and new friendships with people. It got a bit disheartening for a while because I wasn’t writing as much because it felt like all I could find were people who frankly didn’t bother giving me the time of day because I was someone new and someone they didn’t already ship with. It was hard to get interactions or write with new people. So this past little while has been an absolute blast.

RP PET PEEVE : Oh my gosh I feel like I go on about this so much that it’s going to get annoying but it’s always my most consistent number 1 issue over the years. Shipping. Smut. Only caring about ships. Only caring about smut. Heck, only caring about solely your muse in a ship or only caring about writing smut for our ships. Dropping even attempting to interact with a muse of mine like a hot potato just because you realize the possibility for romance isn’t happening or because I didn’t immediately jump onto the ship bandwagon with them. I swear I’m not anti-ship because I also really like writing romance and I think writing smut can be fun! I just hate when it seems like that’s the only thing someone cares about when writing with me.

I guess it’s like...you create this fully fleshed out muse with hopes, dreams, aspirations, story hooks, and relations to other muses but none of that gets touched because you’re only used as fodder to write out “And (my muse) kisses (your muse) before having wild and raunchy sex with them” over and over again. I feel like it comes as no surprise if you’ve followed me for even a short amount of time that I really enjoy creating plots and events and things like that with our muses. It’s just how I prefer to do things. I’m also here to, like, write with people, not write out romantic scenarios for people, if that makes sense.

So if it’s obvious, and it always feels like it’s pretty obvious to me, when what we want out of something isn’t matching-- and worse, my muse is being treated like a glorified sex doll? Yeahhh. It’s why I wrote that big dramatic rule update/PSA post a minute back when I was going through some spring cleaning (also talking about my #2 pet peeve-- mutuals I can’t get to write with me)  and-- I’m glad I did? I was right, I would not have wanted to deal with that with how stressed I am now and I’ve been enjoying using Tumblr and writing out muse mess as a breather. So, pat on the back to past me I guess?

Kind of stealing Marshy’s sentiments (who I’m also stealing this meme from too, hi) I’m a big fan of ships but I’ll never insta-ship, and depending on the muse, I genuinely mean it when I say that it may take time to get there, but I think the journey is part of the fun anyways. Anyways, I rambled again! Sorry!

PLOTS OR MEMES : I’m fine with both! I always tend to automatically resort to memes or fun dash things rather than long-form plotted threads when I’m super busy or tired, which is why I haven’t touched a tracked thread is a hot second ahahaha.... But I like both! 

LONG OR SHORT REPLIES : *SpongeBob out of breath meme* How long are we talking? I can do long, it just depends on the muse, my energy, and if I have enough to work with. Longer threads may take me a while to get to since they require more attention and focus, but it all just depends!

ARE YOU LIKE YOUR MUSES : Some yes and some absolutely not and thank goodness for that. I feel like most of my muses differ from me more often than not, and the only ones I may share similarities to are the introverts like Veritas, Raven, Aur, etc. Veritas, being my first ever muse, has more pieces of me than anyone else, but really that’s more like some of her personality beats and awkwardness than anything else and I still think she’s still a lot cooler than me personality-wise anyways!

Important PSA

I wasn't going to get on my laptop today and I wasn't really on yesterday, even on mobile, because I had an interview and I didn't sleep well do I didn't have the energy to be much of anywhere tbh. But I feel like it's important to address something that was brought to my attention.

Generally I don't make posts or involve myself in drama so this is going to be a rare post because this is a serious topic that I unfortunately find myself needing to address.

It has been brought to my attention that one of the people I've interacted with has been blatantly plagiarizing other members of the rp community's posts. I would first like to make it known that had I know this person was blatantly copying other peoples rp posts and passing them off as their own I would have never interacted with them. It's abhorrent that it happened in the first place.

Second I want it known that all of the posts from my muses are ones that I have written. Canon dialogue belongs to canon and is not mine but my character's posts are my own, written by me. I'm rarely on my laptop and when I am on tumblr, whether it's mobile or on my laptop, I'm lurking in my drafts or ims to get caught up or just generally lurking.

Third I have blocked the offending blogs and I will be going through and deleting anything that I have rebelogged from them, whether it's memes or rp threads.

Finally, I would like to offer my sincerest apologies to all of everyone who is effected by this situation. I feel betrayed by this situation and I'm not, as far as I know, who had their posts stolen by these blogs. I feel extremely disappointed not only in the offending blogs but in my self for not realizing something was going on sooner.

I offer my sincerest and deepest apologies to @barrelcrow and @melnchly along with anyone else that had their posts plagiarized. I didn't know this was going on.

Meme for Roleplay Muns (Accepting!)

1. What is your favorite trope to rp?

Does the slow-burn romance count? Because I love that! Otherwise, I adore things like reunion threads (school reunion, friendship/romance reunion), sharing a bed, Historical AUs, crossovers, and generally just getting out of day-to-day school threads at Hope’s Peak, SDR2 in-game threads, or coffee shop AUs. I’m usually pretty amenable to different tropes and storylines as long as my writing partner and I get along well, both in terms of OOC communication and IC writing.

I guess I’m saying I don’t really have a ‘favorite’ trope. I think it’s far more dependent on the muse I’m writing Sonia with and their portrayal, as well as a good OOC relationship with the other mun. 

2. Name 3 things you admire about OCs.

First and foremost has to be the creativity and the dedication to creating muses entirely from scratch. As someone who only writes canon now but used to write OCs, there’s something to having a blueprint of sorts when you write a canon muse (protag, side character, or otherwise). You have something to work off of, and in turn, something other muns will expect from you when you write a canon muse.

In turn, you don’t have those expectations when writing OCs. You have a lot more freedom, but you also have a lot more responsibility to creating a character and their entire universe (whether it’s a contemporary setting or something completely out of this world!).  

Second is the ability for OC-writing muns to place their muses (for the most part!) in a variety of different canon verses and having them all work. With canon muses, especially popular canon muses, it’s easier to get away with not knowing a lot of different franchises in order to write with others. Chances are, your writing partner will know something about your muse and fandom. But OCs don’t have that leverage when it comes to seeking out writing partners, and in turn craft plenty of different universes to write in.

And third would be the tenacity muns of OC muses have in going out and forging bonds and friendships with muses and muns of all sorts, canons and OCs alike. We’ve all seen the PSAs of “don’t discriminate against OC muses” and I’ve seen that bias play out on my dash. And it can be disheartening to find a blog you really want to interact with, especially a canon blog, and that mun simply isn’t interested in writing outside of their fandom at all or won’t accept OCs.

But those OC muns who keep going despite the bias, despite being automatically labeled as a self-insert or Mary Sue? Incredible. I love it. 

4. What old character would you love to bring back?

Ooh...what a question.

Well, I think in the right setting, I’d love to devote a bit more time to Fujiko Mine from Lupin III. I have a Fujiko blog, but with a small fandom and a lot of attention towards romance and sensuality with Fuji-cakes, it’s a little disheartening for me to write her most of the time. I’d like to write her more with the right muses and muns interested and willing to write a longer storyline, really. She’s a very flirty, sensual muse who uses her body to get what she wants, and writing her can be a bit of a challenge when muns might expect instant shipping or smut with her.

But she’s shrewd, manipulative, an amazing shot, and has plenty of skills that help her hone her various burglaries and thefts. She’s also blunt, manipulative, snobby, and puts herself first in every situation. She’s...well, a lot.

Otherwise, most of the muses I’d want to bring back are more dependent on the muses I could write them with. I’d bring back Misato Katsuragi from Neon Genesis Evangelion if I had a Ryoji Kaji and/or Ritsuko Akagi to write with. I’d bring back Julia from Cowboy Bebop if I had a Spike Spiegel and/or a Vicious to write with. At least at the start, there’s just those canon dynamics I haven’t explored in years that I’d love to delve into again!

And if Riverdale hadn’t gone to shit in later seasons, I’d consider bringing back Veronica Lodge. Either in her Archie Comics or Riverdale incarnations (though I’m more inclined to the latter).

I can say for certain that I’ve got no interest in bringing back my Harry Potter muses...ever. Long before the author pulled her shit, the fandom was already troublesome enough. So I’ve said farewell to Hermione Granger, Narcissa Black/Malfoy, and a group of OCs I wrote for about 10 years.

25. One thing you’d like new roleplayers to know?

The most important thing I’d say to new roleplayers is to learn what you want out of RP. There’s a lot of different styles of writing, storylines, characters, etc. And it’s perfectly okay to change your style, preferences, etc. as you grow and spend more time in the RPC! But if you stay true to what you like and want to do, you will have a good time.

Additionally, write what you want to read and write for the sort of blogs and muses you want to write with. Everyone starts somewhere and everyone is learning, no matter how talented you believe they are. Being intimidated will ultimately hold you back from having a good time: as long as you’re adhering to rules/preferences, jump in to interactions! If someone says no, there’s plenty more writers here to write with.

And finally, it’s okay to take a break. Sometimes replies just don’t come easily: maybe you’re burned out. Maybe you’re stuck. Maybe you need a mental health holiday and binge your favorite game/TV show/movie/book. Maybe you need to plot with another mun to get some ideas. Or maybe you just need to log off and spend some time away from tumblr.

All of these options are valid and should be respected. But I’d still recommend never to stop writing completely: this hobby is for everyone. All ages, all styles, all writing experiences.

Power Dynamics in the Second and Third Age

HEADCANON

Melkor, as he is portrayed here, is designed to be at the disadvantage.

It’s a part of his lingering punishment that he is weak. His body is frail, and though he will not die of age, he is no more durable than a normal elf. In all of his canon verses that are available for RP, Melkor holds no power.

In v: The Raven Man, he is known as Crabandir and dwells in Mirkwood, where at least some elves know of what he is. He is treated with caution, but for the most part he is also treated humanely, and even kindly. Never will elves of the greenwood automatically fear Crabandir.

v: Lives on the Line is an extension to The Raven Man, in which Melkor has traveled to Imladris and revealed himself in order to warn of the threat of Sauron. This means that the elves of Imladris are completely aware of his identity. He still prefers to be called Crabandir, however the elves of Imladris are, generally, less inclined to forgo his past, and Melkor or Morgoth are common names for him again here.

. In this verse there is no need to play the ‘I’m avoiding metagaming so my muse doesn’t have a clue who yours is’ game- don’t worry, unless your character is a child or a visitor, they probably know. They might not know his motivations, or how exactly he came to be there, but they almost certainly know who he is, and the reason he’s openly given for staying. It is unlikely that the elves of Imladris would fear Melkor, so much as resent him, or suspect him of manipulation- but he is rather too pathetic to be feared. 

In both of the above verses, Melkor is completely and utterly at the mercy of the elves. He is skittish, obedient, and even submissive around them, because he was broken down and accustomed to being treated like dirt by men who held power over him before he ever arrived in Mirkwood.

This PSA was brought on originally on my old blog by some interactions that continued to disregard Melkor’s situation, and portrayed characters as reacting with fear or submission to him. There is no reason that, in any situation possible, an elf should be feeling obligated to be submissive or obedient to Melkor. The power dynamic has shifted. He is the one who has reason to fear for his life and well-being, not the elves. He is the one who would be feeling he pressure to be perfect, to please in every way, and to ensure that no one ever became upset with him, because the elves have every right to snuff him out and send him back to the void at the slightest wrong or misdeed.

This blog was designed to explore a Melkor who is forced to confront powerlessness and humanity. Threads or asks that go directly against that design in ways I cannot work around will be dropped or deleted, as the whole blog makes this pretty clear tbh.

Friendly PSA

There are a few different versions of Peter Parker zippin’ around on this blog which I freely switch between on a regular basis, and I wanted to quickly cover them in a bit of detail.

My default is 616 Pete, who I will fall back on for most general threads.  For me, the most interesting part of writing Parker now is how much older he’s become, a teen hero who’s now one of the bigger names in the Avengers.  I draw from different points in his canon, but in general, One More Day hasn’t happened, he’s either a full Avenger or part of the New Avengers, with Future Foundation sprinkled in there for good measure.  His suit is third generation unstable molecules, and his identity is only known to folks he trusts.  Basically talk with me beforehand to figure out if your muse knows him as Peter or Spider-Man, he is very adamant about this.

Chris Pine is also a more general-purpose fc for an older Peter Parker, mostly for 616 though.

Second is MCU, with Tom Holland and Aaron Tveit.  The latter is used when I want the character to be older, around his mid-twenties.  A tad more experienced, grounded, but still retains his wit and quick mouth.  If anything revolving around romantic ships happens with a character in the MCU not directly a teenager, then Tveit will be the default, no exceptions.  Even with Hollandaise sauce I’m likely not to really focus on the shipping part, and more the coming-of-age, what-the-everloving-heck-is-going-on types of stories.

So the timeline will be: Tom Holland: 15-18 years, Aaron Tveit: 24-28, and Chris Pine: 35-38
