Daily fish fact #764
Pygmy corydoras!
This tiny catfish tends to grow to be about 2.1 cm (0.8 inches). They have an unusual habit of hovering in the water column instead of resting on the bottom!

It looks funny, right? You think it looks funny.
I do too. But it lives its whole life. So you have to take it seriously eventually, right? And be respectful and shit.
I think it can noodle in the sand for worms.

Finally finished my 10g aquarium <3
Stocking: 1 female koi betta, 6 pygmy corydoras, 5 khuli loaches, 4 ghost shrimp (3 babies and mama), 2 nerite snails
The betta was in a sorority when I bought her and she's been so patient with everyone else, even sharing nibbles off pellets on the sand with no signs of aggression or aggravation
Tank is slightly overstocked so I wouldn't reccomend this number of fish for all 10 gallon tanks, but I'm accommodating for the fish with less feeding, proper hides, lots of plants, and consistent water changes + larger filter. They've really been thriving and I'm so happy <3

I don't get to see my pygmy corydoras too often, as they are my nocturnal crew in my interspecies neon tetra tank, but every so often they do cute shit like hang out together on the anubias 🌿

And we are completely set! The tank has fully cycled, nitrites and ammonia at 0, and after a quick clean of the glass and sucking out some thread algae that bloomed in the sand, the tank is fully ready for its inhabitants!
They won't be arriving for a couple weeks yet though, I've still got to order them and funds are short atm. But soon! 🌿🌱🦐🦐

The fish in my 20g long have been dying off. It's really sad for me. I think maybe columnaris? I just got a new medication delivered which I will be adding today.
The shrimp are unbothered by whatever is killing the fish. I'm planning to move in the next six months or so...no plans on acquiring new fish until after that happens, I'm already stressed about moving my three tanks of nano fish and inverts (and six cats. and my 16.5 year-old dog). But I would like to save the remaining occupants if I can. :(
