#quarantine episode
I need everyone to know that speedsters are allergic to nanobots.
No, seriously. They're allergic to nanobots.
Speedsters have absolutely insane metabolisms, which means that they have an absolutely insane immune system. They don't get sick. Ever. Their immune system works at warp speed and takes out germs the second they enter their body. Call germs 'the Rogues' because they're getting tackled by super speedy blurs before they can even think about causing issues.
Okay, so they have a great immune system and don't get sick ever. What does this have to do with nanobots?
Great question! When nanobots are injected into a speedster's body their immune system sees them as a threat. Only problem? It doesn't matter how fast or efficient their immune system is, their body can't destroy a bunch of tiny metal robots.
Because their bodies can't fight off the nanobots they start to display typical cold/flu symptoms instead. Vomiting, fever, runny nose, coughing, being tired, ect. The nanobots aren't causing this reaction. Their own immune system causes this reaction. The fever is the bodies attempt to kill off the 'germs'. The vomiting, runny nose and coughing is the body's attempt to expel the 'germs'. They feel tired because their body is putting everything into fighting off the 'infection'.
In a normal person the nanobots wouldn't even be an issue because they'd be able to avoid detection. They can't avoid detection in a speedster body because their immune systems are dialled up to 500 out of 10.
As a result you get instances like this:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(Inertia had injected Bart with nanobots and Bart had a reaction)
Just an FYI for people because this is extremely fun and versatile information. Especially because none of the speedsters are really aware of this and it doesn't kick in right away. I could totally see a situation where a mission requires nanobot injections and mid mission the speedster goes down out of nowhere. It's also great if you want to do a stereotypical sick fic or something and want to get around that pesky speedster immunity.
Anyway, it's fun information so I thought I'd share

The set pics and interviews are making things look more and more apocalyptic although if there’s one thing about America they make school persist no matter what. And if not then I’m enrolling those boys myself.

Hey ! How r u doing ? Abt the prompt, I wish we saw a universe where Lena never learned Kara is SG and ends up dead/injured bc she collaborated with the DEO. Like the vilains are "she's the brain, we need to take her down before we take down SG" it could be a whole other AU or altSG (somehow survived) n come to Earth Prime to get help from our Lena. Sry idk if this is rly interesting, I'm just craving angst rn... hope you doing ok ^^
CW: brief torture and Alt!Character death
---
Kara thinks she’s found it. Finally, a world in which no one’s dead, no one’s angry. All it takes is not telling Lena at all, which feels like the weight of a million worlds on Kara’s shoulders but if it means everyone lives and Lena loves her, loves Kara, then it’s a weight worth bearing.
This is the best for everyone, Kara reasons to herself. Lena’s trust is preserved, her goodness intact. Everyone is whole and healthy. There’s just one thing Kara fails to account for.
Leviathan.
The group rears its ugly head and make their play using Obsidian lenses, but the Superfriends manage to stop them. Because they have Lena, and ONLY because they have Lena, they are able to stay a step ahead.
Until Leviathan comes to the same conclusion.
All it takes is a single moment for Lena to be snatched into the shadows, vanishing from the lab even as Supergirl is talking to her. When Rama Khan offers a trade for Lena’s return, Supergirl is the first to arrive. She finds Lena encased to her chin in stone, arms propped out like macabre marionette.
Lena’s barely conscious, features dusty and breaths labored against the pressure of the rocks around her. From the moment Kara lands, Rama Khan is quick to demonstrate his power. His fingers twitch, and the rocks encasing Lena’s right arm shift and compress, filling the room with the echoing snap of bone.
A gasp of a scream steals from Lena’s chest, precious breath she can’t quite regain.
“I’m here!” Kara shouts desperately, hands lifted in surrender. “I’m here. What do you want?”
“Don’t play games with me, girl. The kill code.” Rama Khan has made his demands clear from the start– the kill code Lena wrote to combat the Leviathan backdoor in the lens tech, for Lena’s life.
When Kara is too slow reaching into her belt for the thumb drive, Rama Khan’s hand twitches again, snapping another boulder to the stone at Lena’s back, the other rubble squeezing to make room. Lena coughs on impact, a spray of blood speckling the rocks at her chin.
“Stop! Please! I have it– you can have it, just please stop!”
Rama Khan extends one hand towards Kara. “No sudden moves.”
Kara carefully deposits the drive into his palm, watching Lena as glazed green eyes roll and struggle to remain open. Lena’s skin is pale beneath the dirt, and the area around her lips has already begun to tinge blue.
“There, you have it,” Kara announces once the drive is relinquished, backing away slowly. “Please, let her go.”
With the drive in hand, Rama Khan smirks. HIs fingers curl, and instead of releasing Lena the rocks constrict with a sickening crunch that Kara will remember for the rest of her days.
When the stone finally crumbles away, Lena crumples with it, and Kara knows.
Kara knows during the momentary flight to the Tower, she knows through the long minutes of attempted resuscitation. She knows long before Alex steps away from the CPR in defeat and stares at the screaming flatline.
Lena is dead.
There’s a vacuum where Lena’s body now rests, limp arms positioned neatly at her sides. The presence that was Lena is now gone, despite the bruised and broken likeness left behind. There is a dearth of Lena in her own body, and the void left behind is palpable as Kara sits alone in the medbay with the empty shell of her best friend.
Elsewhere in the Tower, others mourn. Alex sobs into Kelly’s shoulder, and Brainy consoles a broken Nia in the kitchen. There’s no one to comfort Kara besides the echo of her friend, and so Kara sits unblinkingly until her eyes ache and sting.
“Mxy.”
A plea. A surrender. Both.
Either way, he comes.
When the imp appears, Kara finally feels the tears start to threaten.
“Tell me this isn’t it.” PLease, tell her that this isn’t the final reality. Tell her this is still just a possibility, and that somewhere, a Lena out there is alive, hating her.
Mxy kneels in front of Kara. “No,” he confirms, his genuine sympathy audible in his voice. “This isn’t all there is. There’s still the one you started with.”
Kara nods shakily, and when she next blinks she finds herself sitting not in the medbay, but in her own apartment.
“I’m sorry,” Mxy tells her. He disappears with a snap, and Kara can barely bring herself to wipe her tears enough to read the label on the single tape he leaves behind.
The one Kara keeps.
Coming to split second decision, in the next blink Kara is on Lena’s open balcony. Inside she sees Lena alive and well, all sharp angles and angry movements as she makes herself a cup of tea. That anger blooms when Lena catches sight of her, but morphs into shock and then confusion at the state Kara is in.
Perhaps she senses that Kara’s tears this time have nothing to do with guilt. Maybe that’s why Lena seems to think, then softens minutely before approaching– not to slam the door in Kara’s face, but to wrap Kara in her arms.
Kara clings to her, even as Lena issues a warning.
“This isn’t forgiveness.”
It doesn’t matter. Not tonight. Tonight, all she needs is Lena.

sometimes one decides to start rewatching a crown of candy because one misses the amazing roleplaying and storytelling in said gorgeous, wonderful season
and sometimes one who chooses that path suffers the consequences (i.e. screaming internally every ten seconds and the overwhelming urge to punch a nonexistent piece of cake in the face)
