@marbles290 And where's Alec's apology to Magnus for calling him overdramatic and accusing him of overreacting? When that's one of the most hurtful things you can say to someone with ptsd, especially when his life and the lives of everyone he loves were on the line on both occasions. Alec has said waaay more deeply hurtful things to Magnus than Magnus has to Alec, it's just y'all choose to ignore them and shrug them off why you won't let go of Magnus', and we all know why.

TELL THEM!

“Let’s not be dramatic” he says, when asking Magnus for hair to prove he’s not a fucking murderer. 

“Don’t make this personal” he says when he’s lied about a weapon that could potentially kill every single  downworlder in the world.

Like I’m tired of this argument. ALEC DOES NOT GET AN APOLOGY!

And btw Todd advertised that episode as Malec heavy twice, and there wasn’t anything vague about it in his tweets. He also said that we would see lots of passion when it came to Malec, and we’ve seen none of that.

Todd answering a question from a fan on twitter isn’t advertising.  Also if you go back and look through every time Todd did a series of twitter answers, Malec was always asked about more than any other character or couple.  There are only so many times and so many ways he can give the same damn answer.  

As for passion, I think that Malec has had a lot of passion.  Passion doesn’t always mean something physical.  pas·sionˈpaSHən/noun1.strong and barely controllable emotion."a man of impetuous passion" I think between Alec apologizing to Magnus in the first episode, the whole Magnus keeping Alec tethered thing when he was unconscious, the honest conversation about their vastly different levels of experience, Alec defending his relationship and Magnus to Maryse multiple times and Magnus going above and beyond to appease Alec’s family because he knows how important that is to Alec are all examples of how passionate they have been this season.

Yes this. Of course thinking that he could deal with the kind of stuff listed and actually succeeding at dealing with it are two entirely different things, as I'm sure that we will witness in the near future. I think that deep down he never thought the reason why Connor could be going to jail would be that serious. But yes, nevertheless, his reaction was /very/ peculiar. Quite similar to the one he had in that hilarious tête à tête they had in the shower this season. :D

MY ABSOLUTE FAVORITE THING about it was seeing how far down the [list] of crimes ‘murder’ had been during what must have been his thought process/analysis of the whole situation. 

Like is it a glimpse into Hampton’s psyche or a mere reflection of how his thoughts are organized and compartmentalized? Because let me tell you, the sequence of Bribery > Arms Dealing > Grand Theft Auto > Prostitution (which is a crime in Pennsylvania, apparently) > Vehicular Manslaughter > (AND THEN FINALLY) Murder made me pause the first time I saw this image and I had the strangest thought that Oliver’s knowledge of The Crime Life may be, in some ways, influenced by quests and/or story lines in the GTA video game(s)...

That had been a very unprompted thought which very quickly turned into a headcanon for me for a solid five minutes.

Even now I can’t help but wonder that he might have possibly finished some terrorism / pedophilia documentary recently and so that’s where he started off and then at some point around ‘bank robbery’ got his mind wandering to the video game (which canonically is something he enjoys and even if it may not be to his own gaming tastes GTA is still pretty popular enough to be like a gamer’s staple), to MURDER, to more rational possibilities (perjury and identity theft and tax fraud, bless you Hampton) and then finishing it off with ‘wildlife smuggling’. 

That list (along with the shower scene banter) had been so in character and I know I’m over-analyzing it or whatever but it’s funny in a weird niche sort of way which is... very meta in that it’s how I comprehend Oliver (and by extension, Coliver) as a character part of the show separated as he has been from the story line.

The Armato Bros

This is one of the first Bangtan Bombs I watched when getting into the fandom and it left me... very confused. So, I thought I’d look at it with fresh eyes! The story unfolds in several steps...

Step 1. Jimin makes up some story about him being J-Min of the Armato family. JK is late due to tie changes, which is noticed by J-Min.

Step 2. J-Min introduces JK as his brother. 

Step 3. The shoot resumes.

Step 4. J-Min glances at his bro which is directly followed by him banging the glass on the table. Jimin-ssi, what’s with breaking the props?

Step 5. Alex Armato JK’s shoot continues.

Step 6. J-Min admires his magnificent bro.

Step 7.  Are you hungry, J-Min-ssi? You seem to have your eyes set on a snack.

Step 8. J-Min’s shoot continues.

Step 9. I’d say that Alex Armato JK finds his bro magnificent as well.

Step 10. Holding onto his bro’s arm, J-Min begins to, well, babble nonsense.

Step 11. It seems that the younger Armato does not mind.

Step 12. The moon is, indeed, yonder.

Step 13. In conclusion, I’m still confused by this entire interaction. As a very tiny baby army, I couldn’t understand why everyone was screaming about these two being brothers when the flirting was much louder than the “bro” calling. I do think they both looked amazing. And were very much aware of that. Perhaps a bit too much.

Edit. Thanks to @queenlara I am now aware that Jimin used the term 남동생/동생 here (dongsaeng) which in no way means actual (blood) brother. It’s the termin used for a younger male person.

Whoa, one of my favorite fandoms and video games, so of course I have to make a fic rec for it! If you have any fic recs for this fandom, make a post and send it my way, I’m always down to read more UD fics!

Please read all tags on these fics fully before reading them, as a lot of these deal with dark themes, such as suicidal thoughts and self-harm, and many include ableist slurs. Most of these fics are Sam/Josh, Mike/Josh, or gen, with one Chris/Josh, and all of them are complete.

Fix-It fic where Wendigo-Josh is taken to the hospital, but the doctors don't really know what to do with him. Chris and Sam try to help him, although it's hard for them to forgive. Doesn't mean they will let their friend turn into a monster. And besides, if anyone can trick an ancient spirit, it's probably these two.

6. I could be your perfect disaster, you could be my ever after by queenlara (Sam/Josh - Rated T+)

Sam has always had uncommon opinions regarding soul marks and hates hers in particular, but a chance encounter with her reclusive neighbor, Josh, after a thwarted burglary attempt might just change her mind. Soulmate AU. .

One moment on the verge of tears because of a misunderstanding, the second making dirty jokes and rolling around; Josh is truly a force of nature.

Mike ignores it mostly, focuses on getting back to normal. Tries and fails to get back into the swing of college, has awkward get togethers with friends he feels like he has nothing in common with anymore, joins a gym, goes on a few dates that go appallingly.

It might not sound like it but he's doing well.

Like Dr Hill says you don't get over something like that, not ever, it's always going to be there and pretending it isn't isn't going to help. What you can do though is learn to live with it, get used to it. People, Dr Hill says, can get used to just about anything.

And then they find Josh.

Note: Though the story is not rated, there is some semi-explicit sex.

14. leave some morphine at my door by physique (Sam/Josh - Rated T+)

Sam doesn’t really dwell on the doctor’s words too much even though they repeat in her head like a broken record: The Washington boy’s gonna be okay.

Note: This isn’t the first fanfic I ever read for UD, but it is the earliest one I have bookmarked, and it holds a special place in my heart.

Emily visits Jess in the hospital.

Magnus and Alec didn’t even feel like a realistic couple in the latest episode, emotionally maybe, in the minimal screentime they were given, but physically?? There was no giddiness over their first time, no caresses, no kisses on the cheek, mouth, hand, whatever. Only a shoulder pat that was probably improvised by Harry.

Idk I feel like they seem more like a couple than ever before.  I hate to say that it’s an age thing because I don’t know anything about you but I feel like younger people expect all of those things when a relationship becomes physical but I know plenty of people in relationships like that who don’t exhibit things like that.  Hell, two of my friends were sleeping together for weeks before I found out about it and I only found out because one of them went missing at a bar and being the mother hen that I am I text her asking where she was and she said she’d found our other friend and went home with him.  They’re still sleeping together but you would never know from the way they act around each other.  I just feel like PDA is something that gets left behind by most people after high school and by the rest after college and I see both Magnus and Alec as very mature characters.

Here's hoping that we'll get a kiss before that ep. but I'm not holding my breath ;( A kiss (more like a brush of lips most likely) besides the one in 2x03 of course, which will probably be one-sided since I don't think that Alec will be waking up until the end of the episode, when the gang take Jace to see him at Magnus' loft.

I’m here for all the kisses we can get. I really hope we get more than 2. I’m betting around 5. (Look at me giving myself hope and in the end nothing will happen lol)

And it’s not just RIB’s grossness that’s irritating me to no end, it’s also the disgusting 80k+ people that I share a blogging space with who are agreeing with them.

it really is disgusting how these are the same people who are so self-congratulatory for being enlightened third-wave feminists and creating a safe space for marginalized people. like even if i'd never watched an episode of glee i think it would still be clear that it wasn't a read so much as it was blatant verbal abuse.

Nah they took their sweet time to develop Climon in 2x08 with long conversations and heartfelt kisses while Malec got a fade to black first time, 2:58 min of screentime in an episode advertised as “Malec mania” and a pat in the shoulder in the last episode. They messed up big time.

Idk I actually feel bad for Climon shippers, I think that it was rushed and out of no where, especially compared to the development that we’ve had with Malec since Magnus was introduced in S1.  Other than Clary checking out Simon’s abs in 2x07 there was little to no indication that she had feelings for Simon.  Going into the episode knowing that there were going to be hallucinations I honestly thought that scene was fake when it first started.   Also I don’t know that one person’s vague tweet counts as advertising an episode.  

And I’ll disagree with you on the time thing, they have to balance a lot of characters and story lines and I think that the amount of screen time that Malec has been given is very fair.  I think that we’re jumping the gun here with being upset about all of this given that there aren’t any other couples on the show atm to parallel them with.  Obviously Climon is going to get some attention these next two episodes because it’s new but if it stays cannon into 2b then the real test will be how Malec is treated in comparison to Climon.  Until then I honestly have no problems with how they’re being treated.  I think it’s fair and very well done.

Sorry I just saw your message! But yeah my theory was based on Magnus' clothing/accessories from Harry's livechat as well, and since we'd already established that he'd wear that outfit for their first date in 2x06, that's how I knew their kiss would happen in that ep. too. :)

I mean, I was totally expecting a kiss during that episode, it would be disappointing if there was no kiss, but I thought this scene could be a different episode, but now I see the clothes are the same, so this is definitely episode six.

LMAO I feel ya. I’m already dreading that particular plot line being ignored only to come back in the future to bite Walsh in the ass and needlessly shake things up with Coliver. 

That brief plot line for Oliver/Thomas was seriously so predictable it’s kinda sad.

I'd prefer the alternative, if only because I'm a sucker for couples who team up and work together, to make sense and attempt to get out of whatever messy situation they find themselves in. All the while they struggle and come to terms with seeing each other in this new light, completely for who they truly are.

I, personally, wouldn't enjoy seeing them ignore each other for multiple episodes and fall completely out of love (esp. when I don't see the show lasting longer than a 4th season), but I guess that it's a very real possibility after the Thomas reveal. There's a reason why they chose that guy for Connor to sleep with particularly. Even if it's still unclear if he did it out of apathy or vindictiveness.

Oh, don’t worry, my imaginary arc exists only in a different universe where the writers have a long-term plan for the story and aren’t so determined to cram forty-five different story lines in forty-five minutes. 

I’m pretty sure that the two of them are going to have to work on their relationship now that there’s no turning back for Oliver. Before the fire he had that ominous discussion with AK about all of them (including Connor *gasp*) being in trouble (now she’s in jail!) and even before that he’d been reading about Murder Night 1.0. It’s only a matter of time before the puzzle pieces fall together for him in the remaining episodes. 

It would be a horrible pacing of the narrative if they decide to prolong the suspense and keep Hampton on the fringe when the rest of the characters are scrambling to circle the wagon and sort things out. Then after that the most convenient way to keep him part of the story (instead of running the hell away from the Murder Family) would be by getting Coliver back together and on a road of ~forgiveness and ~healing.
