I want - no, I need more long term, in depth ships. The kind of ships that I can’t stop thinking about. That have a real chokehold on you as an rper. Really thought out, headcanoned and plotted ships. Where we obsess over them endlessly. Go back and forth and stay up late just to read one or two more replies. Where you can get so attached to the characters involved that you can feel what they’re feeling, the good, the bad, the ugly. The kind of ships that really make the RP experience. The ones we can really develop, see grow over the months, have long angsty threads of, but also short fluffy or smutty ones as well. Or where we can post a random one liner just to mix things up here and there! Yeah, I need more ships like that. So please, like… message… send a carrier pigeon... doesn’t matter! Because as the great t.swif.t once said… it’s a need.

if you do not mind can i ask you a question? i am fairly new to tumblr and not very fluent in English so i fail to understand some tumblr terms. Can you tell me what does the tags "a wolf and his queueman" means? i have seen other variation of this tag such as "i will queue heavily at you" so what does this actually mean?

oh my gosh ofc i don't mind you asking :) it's lovely that i was the one you decided to ask! like, i wouldn't call myself a tumblr oracle or anything, but i have been around these parts enough to know a bit about a bit, y'know?

so, for whatever reason (if there is a specific reason that i don't know about somebody who does should absolutely feel free to wade in and enlighten us both) the kool kids on tumblr (read: the nerds) use puns as a fun queue tag for the posts they queue up instead of the ones they post or reblog into the void as soon as they see them.

because i have no idea of your level of understanding of the english language, i'm going to post the oxford dictionary definition of the word 'pun' for any further comprehension that might be needed. i hope you don't take offence at this as i'm really not trying to patronise in any way:

so, lots of us on tumblr will choose either just a random pun that correlates with the word 'queue' i.e. my queue tag for my og main blog from 400 years ago was queue queue ca choo, which was a pun on the beatles lyrics coo coo ca choo from their song i am the walrus. i picked it because it was a (fairly) recognisable line and just something puntastic that i thought would be fun and kind of worked (debatable).

OR

lots of us will pick a queue related pun that is specific to our blog i.e. my queue tag from this teen wolf/sterekblog of mine that you mentioned: a wolf and his queueman. this is actually a really frickin terrible pun but one taken from the sterek fandom because it alludes to the phrase a wolf and his human (meaning derek and stiles)... yeah, i told you it was bad!

to further explain, my buddie blog queue tag is fire and resqueue, bc buddie is from the 911 fandom which is a show about—you guessed it!—fire and rescue!

okies, i hope this helps, nonny? sorry if it's actually a shitty explanation; my brain currently resembles that black gooey shit that seeps out of derek when he gets shot with a wolfsbane bullet bc i've sarcastically had a few very fun few days lol

this is 5 months late, but i just wanted to let everyone know that quitting really was the best thing i've ever done. the sheer amount of relief i had at leaving an incredibly toxic working environment that was just filled with a lot of lateral violence and an abusive manager. i sometimes miss my coworkers and the clients, but how i felt 5 months ago, not just about my job but about life in general, is vastly different to how i feel today.

i found a wonderful job that i love, that i'm good at, and that has just embraced me whole-heartedly. it's supportive, the work is fulfilling, and my team of coworkers and management are all fantastic. it helps too that i got a $5 raise, which means that i can comfortably pay my bills, create a safety cushion, and send money to my sister who has been dealing with a lot of medical issues.

my head is clearer and i'm feeling so, so good about the transition. it was scary as hell to walk away from a job i'd been doing for 4.5 years but it was so worth it and i'm so grateful that i did.

i've been on tumblr for like a decade or so now, and for the most part that's been a good experience. i stick to my fandoms and my mutuals and i write my fic. every once in a while, discourse wanders my way and i get to decide to engage or not. i have no interest in engaging currently. the very idea of arguing with people over something we either love or hate in opposing fashion sounds and is exhausting. so, i fully invite anyone who just doesn't like or agree with me to block me. it doesn't have to be deep. we like/think/want/feel different things and there's this nifty option to never see/hear from each other again that can only improve both of our lives. so like... do that. ✌️

As if it was some kind of magnetic force and he was the north. "Okay," she muttered softly. The moment she had been dreading for most of her adult life was here. And she was agreeing to it. She couldn't believe herself. "But only for breakfast." A smile formed and she leaned down to kiss him briefly. "However long that lasts." Slinking out the bed, Tre moved to grab his t shirt, pulling it down and over her head before she stood there in nothing but it. "You got coffee or something? I'm going to need it. You kept me up way too late last night and I am old now, my friend."

i probably took the girl next door thing a little too literally but...whatever. also i grew up in suburban california (not lemoore) and we definitely had block parties but is that a thing anywhere else? (someone told me they'd never heard of them idk)

You’re pretty sure the boxes in Jake’s house are still packed since he’s been in Lemoore for all of three weeks, and yet the neighborhood already adores him. You want to find it in you to be irritated that they’ve taken to a single man living alone much faster than they did with you.

You bet Jake never gets any questions about why he’s bought a house before getting married.

Cue eye roll.

To further your annoyance, you’re just as taken with your next-door neighbor as everyone else. You just hope you’re better at hiding it than they are.

(You’re not. But in your defense, you're the only one that comes home to see him vying for neighbor of the year by raking the leaves in your front yard, still in his flight suit.)

As if the dads need to be any more on edge, as if the moms need to trip over their words more frequently around him, Jake brings a pie to the neighborhood block party.

An actual fucking peach pie, that he made from scratch and it’s his mother’s recipe isn’t that so darling?

You briefly wonder if there was any merit to your sixth grade teacher telling you your eyes might get stuck given the amount of time that you spend rolling them.

Jake, the ham that he is, takes it all in stride. Lets the moms, grandmas, and teenage girls fawn over him, lets them pull him all over the party. Spurs it on, really, leaning in so they can get the full effect of his charming smile.

It’d be nauseating if he wasn’t so damn charismatic.

It’s maybe a little embarrassing that you’re so observant of Jake that you can tell when he gets a little uncomfortable, when Mrs. Wilkins runs her hands a little too firmly up his arm, fingers playing with the hem of his shirt where it strains around his bicep.

You’d like to think that his grin is extra warm in your direction when you appear at his elbow, making excuses about how he’s wanted over by the grill.

You try not to laugh as you hand him a beer. “You looked like you needed a save.”

He nods, looking grateful. “Thanks, darlin’.”

“Nice of you to agree to this.” You gesture to the tables of food and endless games of cornhole set up along your street. “They were pretty excited to have a welcome to the neighborhood get-together for you.”

“Walter just wanted an excuse to use his Big Green Egg, I’m sure.”

You snort. “Yeah, probably.”

Jake looks over your shoulder, panic curling in his tone. “Quick, kiss me!”

It’s a testament to what good friends you already are that you don’t even question it, instead leaning into the hand he gently places on your cheek and allowing yourself to be pulled into his hard chest.

His lips are surprisingly soft and you bite back a moan as his hand tangles in your hair. You're a little breathless as you pull back, trying not to let your mind spiral at the gossip storm you're certain you've just started.

“Where is she?”

“Where’s who?” He asks, widening those green eyes in feigned innocence.

“Whoever was coming over here? Was it Mrs. Wilkins again? She isn’t very subtle.”

He grins, eyes sparkling with trouble. “Nowhere, darlin’, just wanted you to kiss me.”

Your lips part in surprise, slapping him on the chest to reprimand him for that sneaky little trick.

“Better stay close though. I think Mrs. Wilkins might have it out for you now,” he continues, snaking an arm around your waist and tilting his sunglasses down so you can see him wink. “Don’t worry, I’ll protect you.”
