Another set of acetate drawings onto ink splatters and acrylic markmade backgrounds. Whilst I thought that the colours clashed greatly, I still thought these worked really well. And I thought the corn on the cob stood out a lot, partly due to the shadow it formed.

oh my gooooood one of my absolute favourite ever artists is taking part in an exhibition of some of her most interesting works, restaged. and it is taking place at a time i can afford to be there. at a location i can actually get to! so exciting to have the chance to experience performance art pieces from as far back as the 70s in person

Goodness, apparently it's ages since I actually got my act together and posted something I've drawn? Anyway, here's a little copper dragon with a hoard of pennies, who would like a tummy tickle. Second try. For some reason Tumblr would not display my dragon. Maybe this will work though?

The last of my silhouette hearts. Some extremely random colours here, but it was a good experiment to try!

Some recent things. The crow was the last thing I painted. I have been sketching up a storm lately. It has kind of become a Couch Thing. Some people will sit and crochet. I will sketch birds and flowers and landscapes and whatnot. It relaxes my brain a bit.
Of course, I then take forever to add paint. But anyway. With the coming of colder months, I hopefully will have more time for arting and actually writing. I tend to hibernate and nest and work on shit when it’s gross and cold outside.
So I painted a crow who was a lot of fun to paint. Building up the layers from light to dark really made me see how many colors are contained within the color black itself.
Second is a rough abstract pencil sketch of L’Arc de Triomphe. This is my favorite style in which to draw and paint - abstract and airy city scenes. I plan on painting it, eventually.
The painting of the Chanel bottle was done in watercolor and Brusho (favorite shit ever, it’s basically watercolor in powdered form), and I then digitized it for shits and giggles. I still have no idea what I’m doing in my ancient version of Photoshop, but I played around a bit and kind of dug the psychedelic Chanel No. 5 thing.

Randomly thinking about a time way back when I worked in retail where, after a stressful rush, my boss took me to his office to yell at me for being slow ringing people up and threatened to fire me and then just sent me back to work for the last 30 minutes of my shift. And I have always been someone who is sensitive and cries easy so I'm behind the counter sorting hangers just fighting for my life trying to Not Cry until I was no longer at work
And this old man walks up to me and goes "What sits at the bottom of the ocean and shivers?"
And I'm like "What?"
And he repeats "What sits at the bottom of the ocean and shivers?"
So I go "I don't know, what?"
He says "A nervous wreck!" And I laugh a little and he immediately leaves the store
And I don't know if he was just an old guy who wanted to tell jokes (because that's always a common occurrence for me in customer service) or if he could see I was upset and was trying to cheer me up in some way. But in any event it did work because I was so bewildered I wasn't dwelling on being yelled at by my boss anymore so I didn't cry, I was just wondering what that old man's story was
