“I like it LOUD ... LOUD and GOOD. I prefer it that way.” That’s what I said. And to no one in particular. My voice trailed off, I found a new interest ... Wearing nothing but a grin and grey flannel boxers, my bare feet moving toward the door, I directed myself outside, to walk atop the sun-softened, night-cooled, moisture-dampened earth. Slowly ... quietly ... stepping ... bare feet slapping against the smooth stone, then wicking and wisping through anklet-grazing grasses … “Whish-whish” ... My toe rings spinning against the green-tufted blades, gently sweeping my heels along the freshly-mowed, dark-green carpet, arriving at it’s coolest spots without surprise, all to “tiptoe test” the May waters of our backyard swimming pool—my pathway to an annual refocusing ... my chance to restore, recover and renew—a blessed rebirthing of sorts; ALL beneath the heightened-heated-healing elements of Summer and its posse: water, sun, sky and ... self. Here in the darkened quiet of our peacefully-lit backyard, “Mama Nature” awaits my company again. She whispers at me through the trees, comforting me with her breeze, securing me with her shifting night sounds; and my childhood swimming pool ... patiently waits to become my playdate once again. Wearing nothing but a grin, and my grey flannel boxers, I gently dip my ringed-toes in ... beneath the blue-watered surface, flashes of silvery-painted toes of a deepened mauve. The sensation brings with it energy and emotion; rhythm and a thought: This pool will soon break my fall; this water will carry my weight and lift my soul. And from that moment, forward ... Summer will be set in motion, and the ripe ‘ol age of 45 will finish out strong, right up and into September’s last song. ~ Raquel #quickbursts #writefromsight #fastwrites #writingprompts #humpdaymood #loudandgood #summercoming #goaheadanddipyourtoe #testthehealingwaters 🍃☀️🍃

I found this mixer for cheaper than any other mixer I can currently get secondhand and now it's just a matter of justifying the cost to myself
Tumblr, I'm in a bit of a bind.
My mixer died last week (and tried to take my fingers with it when I reached in to rescue my cookie dough) and new mixers are Expensive As Hell.
Does anyone know where I might be able to source a mixer that can do both cookie dough and bread kneading? Doesn't need to come with the attachments as long as they're relatively simple to source after the fact. I'm not picky on brand either.
I have been combing craiglist and fb marketplace but no one has working mixers they're willing to part with currently and thus I remain minus a mixer which means I'm doing all my mixing by hand.

Double Tap didn't mean for it to happened. He didn't mean to show that memory to Stormbreaker. Yes, he has deeply missed Quickburst, especially after the war to the point that he thought leaving Caminus would give him some release of his pain. He missed Quickburst as much as he loved him. And travelling back to his memories when he was most happy caused him to show Stormbreaker the memories of Quickburst.
When the green mech was about to cut the connection, Double Tap gasped as he felt a whiplash of their memories as he began to see the tank's, starting on the night that Stormbreaker won him as a prize. Double Tap felt what Stormbreakee felt as he stood in the back of the room watching the two go at one another. He too began to get warm, the heat travelling down to his groin section as he watched himself get pounded by the larger mech.
As he watched the memory unfold in front od him, he then began to remember this event from his own point of view and it was as if both their memories and feelings of that night merged. He feeling what Stormbreaker felt, and the tank feeling what Double Tap felt. Which wasn't much except for his uncontrollable heat and the increasing desire for Stormbreaker.
Double Tap also felt the jealous that came off from the tank that was directed towards Quickburst but the green mech decided to ignore. Why would there be a need to be jealous of someone who is dead?
He wasn't surprised when he felt the need of protection coming from Stormbreaker because he had demonstrated many times before when he protected him from Impactor and Demolishor, as well as from that smaller tank from the bazaar. But he was surprised to feel the affection and trust from the final memory, let alone how Stormbreaker had similar feelings that Quickburst had towards Double Tap.
Once the final memory has ended, Double Tap diaconnected the link and once his senses were back in his own frame, he looked up at Stormbreaker with wide optics. He opened his mouth to say something but what could he say?
Gladiator’s Lament
pacifist-bartender:
Double Tap couldn’t agree more. Going down memory lane with fond recalls of the past would help his mood a lot. Plus, it would allow for the two of them to get to know one another even better than before.
After offering the cube, ths green mech sat next to the larger mech before pulling out one of his cables from the side of his helm. “I would like that.” He stated before he connected his end to the tank’s cable dock. Within a matter of seconds, Double Tap had linked with Stormbreaker and they were both delving into the Camien’s memories.
Choosing to stick with his home planet, Double Tap took his time in showing details of his memories to Stormbreaker. He decided to show the day that he began his teaching in the way of the flame. Becoming a city speaker himself. He showed Strombreaker when the Camien met with the council and Mistress of Flame, his memories recording his feelings of excitemend and joy as being accepted into the tutelage.
Double Tap decided not to focus too much of the mundane teaching and training, and moved on when he met his colleagues and how they invited him to go have dinner as a gang. The restaurant had a bar and the gang chilled in that second, ordering high grades and food like it was no tomorrow. Perhaps this was the place that inspired Double Tap to be the bartender that he is -or was- in the present.
The memory goes on with Double Tap being quite buzzed and stumbling back to his home with the aid of two of his friends. He forgot how much of a light weight he is. One friend though caught Double Tap’s eye; a handsome looking mech who was a grounder like him but slightly more build than he was. Double Tap was returned safety and once he had properly locked up his home, the young Camien crashed for the night.
Double Tap showed Stormbreaker more memories like that; he and his friends hanging out, relaxing at bars or parks, having fun during teachings. Although, those snipbits of his memories also showed the green mech’s growing attraction to the other mech. The mech was known as Quickburst. Double Tap felt flustered and shy around Quickburst but the other mech didn’t seem to mind or noticed the other’s awkward behavior.
Double Tap didn’t mean to derail from his memories but the Camien accidentally showed a time when he had his heat and how hot as well as flustered he was, especially around Quickburst. Realizing that he almost showed Stormbreaker a memory where he self served himself, Double Tap quickly changed the memory and tried focusing on something else.
But no luck. Double Tap became embarrassed and he couldn’t focus on a single memory and he decided that he was going to cut the link.
Stormbreaker was grateful for the connection and the escape into another world. All he knew were the slums before this. Now through Double Tap he could witness a new world, a new city, and new faces. He smiled as he watched the smaller mech go through his life.
There was so much joy and completion there, Stormbreaker feeding off of Double Tap’s happiness. The vows he made to the Mistress of the Flame, his experiences at the bar, and most importantly the relationship that was developing between him and another mech.
‘You lost him, didn’t you? He was the one you were longing for in the war,’ Stormbreaker thought to himself as he watched Double Tap’s shy behavior from afar like some kind of god. He had no influence on the events and yet he was cheering for Double Tap.
It would have been so nice if someone could find a happy ending.
Stormbreaker was taken off guard when he was shown one of Double Tap’s earlier heats which he had shared with Quickburst, the name of the mech previously unidentified. The hulking tank grew warmed despite all his best efforts not to react, his frame warming at the images and emotions.
He remembered the day he had won Double Tap from the arena and how wonderful he had smelled. The black and green mech was unable to stop the memory from leaking into Double Tap’s mind, the intense desire to protect his potential mate and make sure he was sated for the remainder of the heat.
There was also a twinge of something akin to jealousy in Stormbreaker’s memory. He had proved to be a better heat-mate in the sense that he had kept Double Tap away from nearly everyone who tried to steal him or cause him harm. Quickburst had abandoned Double Tap in the war by dying–as harsh as that sounded–but Stormbreaker was a tank. The strongest survived and the weak perished.
Another memory slipped past, Stormbreaker showing Double Tap how after the heat had passed how much he wanted to continue protecting the tricolor mech. Some of those feelings Quickburst had conveyed were Stormbreaker’s as well, the mech trying to show how he wasn’t so different from the other.
One final memory all Stormbreaker’s own was transferred, his affection and trust towards Double Tap displayed through the memory of when the smaller mech had saved him from the medics and stayed close for the rest of the night. It made his spark feel safe and cared for.

The Best Hand Mixers for Your Baking Needs
Africa Studio/Shutterstock.com
An electric hand mixer is the perfect accessory in the kitchen for those times when a full food processor is too much but mixing with just a whisk won’t cut it. Here’s a look at the best hand mixers out there.
In each case, we’ve looked at power, precision, and accessibility. After all, you don’t want a heavy mixer that’s cumbersome to hold on to, but neither do you want one that takes forever to actually mix anything properly. Expect great options here whatever your budget.
Best Overall: Braun MultiMix Hand Mixer ($62)
Braun
The Braun MultiMix Hand Mixer looks like the mixer that Darth Vader would use and it’s just as effective (at mixing, not furthering the goals of the Empire, that is). Its 350w engine means it’s typically 50% more powerful than most of its competitors so mixing is faster and more effective here.
It has a one-handed control system so you can easily turn the speed dial to adjust between the 9 speeds available to you. Alongside that are multiple attachments so there’s a whisk or beater for every baking or cooking scenario. In particular, its sturdy dough hooks are great for preparing homemade bread or pizza.
It’s far from heavy either, weighing in at just over 2lbs and with an ergonomic handle for extra grip.
Buy on Amazon
Best Premium Choice: Breville Handy Mix Scraper Hand Mixer ($130)
Breville
The Breville Handy Mix Scraper Hand Mixer is a pretty clever hand mixer. It’s not as powerful as the Braun but it knows how to use its 240w motor perfectly. That’s because of its Beater IQ interface which automatically detects the type of attachment you’re using then adjusts the speed appropriately so you get the most out of it.
Alongside that, it remains quite quiet with scraper beaters that resist clanging the sides in order to maximize contact with the contents of the bowl. Its motor is quiet too, no matter what speed it’s running at. Additionally, there’s a mixing light so you can view ingredients easily while they mix, and there’s a count-up timer for precise mixing. For plentiful features, you can’t go wrong.
Buy on Amazon
Best Budget Choice: Hamilton Beach Hand Mixer ($15)
Hamilton Beach
A good hand mixer doesn’t have to cost a ton, providing you don’t need all the features possible. The Hamilton Beach Hand Mixer demonstrates that. It has a 250w motor which is good for most mixing tasks. That’s backed up with six speeds and a QuickBurst button for a quick boost. The beaters and whisk are fairly conventional so don’t expect anything too fancy and innovative here, but it’s still good for most regular tasks.
Where the Hamilton Beach Hand Mixer stands out a little is its bowl rest feature so you can easily leave it hanging on the side of a bowl without a problem. There’s a snap-on storage case too which is great for when you need to store it in a cupboard for an extended period of time.

Best Lightweight Mixer: KitchenAid 7-Speed Digital Hand Mixer ($55)
