QURAN – THE ULTIMATE CONNECTION BETWEEN THE ALMIGHTY AND HUMAN BEINGS
Quran – the complete and concise message of Almighty Allah to humankind. Almighty Allah is the sole creator of this whole universe including us, human beings! As mankind evolved through many phases of time, the Almighty sent his various messengers in the form of Prophets to teach mankind of righteous path. Yet, the message that was delivered aimed at a specific audience and never carried the element of “entireness” in it. Eventually, the final message that had all the components of inclusiveness and finality came to mankind in the form of the “Quran”. It served the purpose for deliberation of a whole plan as to how humans are required to spend their lives in conformity with the teachings of Almighty Allah.
Quran was revealed on the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) in a period of 23 years. It was not a one-time activity, rather parts of it were revealed during different periods of time as per the circumstances of those times and the underlying necessities. Another feature that distinguishes it from the rest of the revelations remains that it is a direct conversation between the Almighty and HIS most unique creation, the human. There were no intermediary human circles that quoted it rather the verses were directly narrated by Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) as He (PBUH) heard it from the angel Gabreel.
You [Prophet] are sure to find that the most hostile to the believers are the Jews and those who associate other deities with God; you are sure to find that the closest in affection towards the believers are those who say, ‘We are Christians,’ for there are among them people devoted to learning and ascetics. These people are not given to arrogance, and when they listen to what has been sent down to the Messenger, you will see their eyes overflowing with tears because they recognize the Truth [in it]. They say, ‘Our Lord, we believe, so count us amongst the witnesses.
Why should we not believe in God and in the Truth that has come down to us, when we long for our Lord to include us in the company of the righteous?’
For saying this, God has rewarded them with Gardens graced with flowing streams, and there they will stay: that is the reward of those who do good.
