Bridgerton S3 is coming next month and you may have noticed it trending the past few days because they released the trailer, but they've also been releasing short character- and ship- centric promo videos, and one of the latest ones is particularly funny to me, a frequent incest shipper.

Long story short, Eloise Bridgerton and Penelope Featherington used to be best friends until Eloise found out last season that Penelope is Lady Whistledown, an anonymous kind of vitriolic gossiper, and that had a feeling out. (Folks who have kept steady with the show please correct me where I'm wrong.) Penelope has been in love with Eloise's older brother Colin for years, and this season Colin and Penelope will be the romantic focus. So in the trailer, Eloise confronts Colin about the increasing time he's spending with Penelope, and he tells her he's only helping Penelope find a husband (it's how their story plays out), and Eloise says "I hope she's not looking for a husband in you" (almost word for word of I recall correctly). This will obviously, I think, be one of the things that clues Colin into the rift between his sister and Penelope, because no one knows about it really. Now this quote alone is a gem out of context, but the short video is even funnier because it's Penelope and Eloise standing side by side, Penelope looking at Eloise with something like worry and unease and guilt, while Eloise is clearly miffed and looking down on Penelope, and then there's Colin right behind them looking from one to the other and back inquisitively, trying to figure out what went wrong with those two. Again, without the context, this is hilarious.

There's this post going around saying that the most unrealistic thing about the show is that none of the eight Bridgerton siblings is gay, but I keep thinking it's more unrealistic that not one or more of them is seen experiencing some kind of incestuous feelings toward another sibling.

I still haven't seen the show, but based on what I've heard about the siblings, I agree with you!
