Definitions of the Degree of the Potential Erosion Danger of the Mountain Brown Soil of Azerbaijan

Abstract

On plots of fields under crops under crops, the signs on which it is possible to determine the degree of erosion of soils are the inside covering and plant heights. Moreover, even the phenomenon of erosion on pasture do not found a definite place in the common grouping of erosive processes, although the nature of the manifestations of pasture erosion is very much different from other types or categories of erosion.

Glaze

The final glaze is based from previous glaze tests. The matte/satin glaze using a large ratio of magnesium as flux had a nice soft touch but was a little dull.  I based this recipe on the magnesium matte previous, keeping the magnesium flux high but shifting the glaze slightly towards being satin.

Grolleg clay - high alumina to make glaze matte

TWVD Ball clay - lower alumina - balances with grolleg for satin. Also works as a suspension agent.

Neph Syenite - Melts at a lower temperature, reduces surface tension

Talc - Supplies RO flux’s as well as Si (not as high in magnesium as dolomite

Dolomite -  Increses magnesium flux but has high loss on ignition.

Soda + potash feldspar - Both supply R2O flux. Soda is more powerful and these balance to help with the melt.

After testing this glaze and encountering the unhealed pin hole and cutlery marking issue I decided to change the glaze to source more calcium than magnesium flux to stop the cutlery marking as well as adding boron in colemanite to make the glaze longer lasting and resistant to marking. As a result of this the colours may become brighter also. To be more towards gloss (slightly more satin) this will help with the melt fluidity and the glazes ability to heal the pinholes. I will test the glaze on a drop and fire glaze firing also to help the pinholes heal and the glaze to develop.
