One of those experimental drawings I did back in 2020.
I remember I was reading Fritz the Cat comics and after feeling inspired, I wanted to see how much effort would it take to make a digital drawing feel like as if it was done/printed on newsprint. It was mainly some texture work and also using the G-pen brush (with anti aliasing off) on Clip Studio Paint. For the panel idea, I just drew whatever that came to mind and made these two on the fly. Same for the dialogue.

Sgt. Benjamin Sinise is reassuring his love ones back home that'll be alright. He's not sure when he'll come back, but he'll make sure it'll be on a Christmas Day. That would in '44, after sustaining a wound in France. He would live on and have a family of four in a new home in the town called Putnamville CA.
Meet Benjamin Sinise, Becky's great grandpa.
I was originally going to make this with a deer, but changed it to a grey hare. In doing so, I made a new bit of lore for Life Beside the Tracks; more info about Becky's family background. I'm super happy that this happened, mainly since adding lore to my world makes it more interesting to look into.
