BIOGRAPHY

Neve was born and raised in the outskirts of Dublin by their mom and stepdad. The 'step' label was entirely a formality; their mother got married when they were still a child, and their biological father was never in the picture.

The three of them were as loving and close-knit as a family could be. Sadly, life isn't fair, and they only got a handful of years together before Neve's mom got sick. At the end, she was more calm and accepting of her fate than the other two, making them promise to hold on to each other after she was gone.

Luckily, the loss brought them even closer together and they managed to stay true to their word. Even now that they're an adult, if you ask Neve who their best friend in the world is, they will say it's their dad without a second thought.

Their mom had left an extensive vintage record collection behind, and when Neve started showing an interest in music, their dad supported them fully. He even went as far as remodelling their garage to serve as a practice space.

Neve shared their interest in music with their friend and eventual boyfriend (and bandmate) Zayne. The two started dating back in middle school, and if you asked Neve later on how long they'd been together, their answer was always the same: "For as long as I can remember. So basically forever."

They formed a band with people in their shared social circle, and while they were all close friends and had fun playing together, the thing that drove them was that they were also all serious about pursuing music professionally. After playing for years, they were finally gaining some traction locally when the death of Zayne's brother brought everything to a screeching halt.

Because of how important his brother was to the family, Zayne agreed to step back from pursuing music, relocate to the United States, and even have himself reprogrammed with his brother's personality. Neve was angry, distraught, and utterly heartbroken, even when he offered for them to stay together. What would be the point? He would be Zayne in name only. He wouldn't be their Zanny.

Nobody in the band wanted to replace him, and they couldn't really make it work without him, leading to them splitting up. Losing both their partner and their band at the same time was hard on Neve. They couldn't even distract themselves with university, because they had chosen to get a degree in Music Performance, and now the thought of performing made them recoil.

It wasn't until they met Kelly and Prince, whom had also been through the loss of their previous band, that Neve could even entertain the idea of performing with a group again. With a friendly push from their dad, they joined the two in forming Haunted Doll Watch and eventually toured around Ireland and the UK. It was exactly what Neve needed to slowly start feeling like themselves again.

They may have gotten over the heartbreak of losing their previous band, but what they couldn't get over was losing their boyfriend, even after years had passed. When Kelly brought up moving to Dallas, it was partially to support him and partially wanting to reconnect with Zanny that made Neve agree.

Neve has always been the typical girl (but not a girl) next door; friendly, speaks their mind, cute in an approachable way, and loyal to a fault. They are working as a bartender at The Obelisk and mostly thriving in their new life in spite of Zanny remaining... Well, not Zanny. But they haven't given up on him yet.

Aesthetics: The colors and bright lights of an innocence lost then recaptured, the Arcade is home, but the machines are old and worn- he can never go back, not really, the blood on his hands stains buttons and while his teeth are blunted and he is muzzled there are people who remember what he used to be, razor-sharp and deadly, motor oil and rich, well-worn leather flying a flag of loyalty. There’s no cross on the bend outside of town where the bike crashed, but something died out there that day. The physical injuries are minimal, now, but his mind has never quite been the same- maybe the peppy chiptunes are as much a prison as gunfire and rumbling engines. Maybe he’ll never know.

HISTORY

Bostonian transplant when he and his sister were ten, they were present in town and old enough to remember what happened to Duncan Farley, only a year after their arrival. He had his own theories about what happened, but he was a child- he never spoke or acted on them.

Fell in with a rougher crowd in his late teens and early 20s, familial loyalty to a local biker gang led to Tilt becoming a runner and mechanic at only 15, initially just to get himself out of the trailer park they’d moved into.

He flourished in the art of violence and misleading others, and from 19 to 27, he was a prominent member of the gang, regularly running drugs and guns and building an impressive rap sheet until a bike accident late one night on a twisted, rain-slicked backroad nearly took his life.

After a couple years of recovery, largely only supported by his twin sister, after their single father’s death, Tilt found himself capable enough to reintegrate into society- but no longer the ferocious young man he had once been. He took a job at the Fun Palace as the mechanic, somewhere he adored from his youth, and put his general technical skills to good use keeping everything running- so well that when the owner retired when Tilt was 29, he was offered the opportunity to take over and buy the place out.

He spends most of his time now at the Fun Palace, and has a near-encyclopedic knowledge about arcade machines from the 80s to present day, and despite still requiring the presence of a carer in his day-to-day because of periodic seizures, Tilt Ward has quickly become a well-loved member of the boardwalk’s ‘regulars’.

Incredibly jovial with a kind word for everyone, Tilt is also a regular handyman, willing to use his technical and mechanical knowledge to fix things up for others, like cameras, TVs, Cars, and old equipment.

He doesn't talk much about his past as a biker, as many of those memories were lost in his accident, including much of the way he used to pressure, extort, and threaten the people of Greenview in the name of his former crew.

He has an open door policy for the young folks around town to come by the Ward place for anything- dinner, a couch to crash on, or a listening ear, and with his memory issues and general inability to really muster up judgement, many college students tend to take him up on this.

He has a quick alert button on his person at all time that notifies his sister Amelia and a handful of other trusted parties when he thinks he feels a seizure coming on, and this has allowed him to live somewhat free of a constant handler.

En Pomona cree que las cosas serán sencillas debido a pensamiento elevado con el que se venden, es todo lo contrario, en un inicio no encaja en ningún lado, salvo con Amelia, su compañera de cuarto, ¡Oh Amelia! Cómo había aprendido a quererla con esa sonrisa un tanto maquiavélica y los planes de triunfar bajo la manga, ser mejores amigas había sucedido de la noche a la mañana, unidas prácticamente de una manera simbiótica, no había manera que no supiesen los secretos de la una o de la otra, invitación al Círculo les llegó en el mismo momento, honor máximo les habían dicho, básicamente el boleto dorado para personas en su condición, sin embargo Vada la rechaza en un inicio, siente que es ir de boca del lobo a otra boca de diferente lobo que tiene más dientes, así que se van distanciando de a poco, ella hace su propia vida, la cama de un lado queda vacía la mayor parte del tiempo, no le importa tanto, al menos eso cree, pero la invitación le quema siempre en el mismo cajón en la que la ha dejado, nunca deja de preguntarse el si hubiera.

Recibe mensaje críptico de Amelia aquella noche en la que desaparece y decide buscarla, sabe que fiestas del círculo son secretas y lo poco que conoce es porque mejor amiga siempre fue un poco boca floja, así que no es sorpresa que no encuentre rastro alguno de lo que deberían de ser, se rinde fácil, se adentra a edificio de literatura en búsqueda de refugio de la lluvia y ahí las escucha, cuatro chicas que claman saber qué paso con su amiga, espera lo peor, se vuelve loca, va con el decano, le exige explicaciones porque dinero es llamativo sin embargo consecuencias y duelo lo son aún más, así que quiere explicaciones las clama en gritos a puerta cerrada, pero de repente es un trato que le cambia la vida, y Nevada no es tonta, lo acepta sin chistar, se encuentra prácticamente dentro del círculo ahora pretendiendo que nunca supo, nunca sabe.

Se gradúa de filosofía y con las conexiones del círculo empieza un retiro espiritual holístico para las almas perdidas, paralelo a negocio tan lucrativo también comienza a volverse viral en redes sociales predicando las mismas palabras, cursos de manifestación, qué cuarzo eres, tiradas de tarot electrónicas, descubre negocio provechoso y se lo apropia, no siente culpa por el avance tan rápido, por el dinero descarado que termina haciendo, sabe que roba ideas de comuna en la que ha crecido pero esta está prácticamente olvidada, de su familia no vuelve a saber y está cómoda con oportunidades que la familia Caddel le ofrece siempre y cuando cierre la boca, una lástima es, que en realidad, todo parezca terminarse cuando a Vera Quinn se le ocurre publicar todo aquello que los demás parecen haber querido callar.
