I do the taping for @interstellarcanid and have had a lot of luck with YouTube videos for athletes using it. The confusing bit is the amount of stretch you put into it, and seeing the tension they use visually helps me.

cool!! i found a blog post from someone who uses it for their shoulders with some videos but it was late so i didnt get the chance to watch them. i was wondering about the tension tho so ill definitely have to check that out/keep an eye on what theyre doing. thanks!!

My cat yells at a phone jackpoint in the middle of the night. Not every night, but it's been probably 5 or 6 so far. I've checked the point for bugs or anything he might be interested in, and I cant see anything. It's one specific point he returns to. All I can think is it might be making noise that I can't hear. Do you have any other ideas on what might be drawing his attention? Thank you for this blog!

Sorry this one took so long for me to get to!I think you may have hit the nail on the head with your assessment! Sometimes high pitched noises can cause cats to become agitated. Luckily your cat is only showing vocalization in response to this trigger. Some cats may even grow aggressive and bite or swipe at people if they’re very stimulated from a noise like this.It’s tough because it’s happening in the middle of the night. Try placing some of your cat’s favorite toys near the jackpoint, so if they become too overstimulated, they can work out some aggression in a healthy way! Try playing near the jackpoint so they can get used to the noise and associate it with a positive interaction. Maybe even try giving them a few treats close to it. If the cat seems to be really upset, try some pheromone diffusers nearby. It’s not a surefire fix, but at least they won’t be so stimulated that they become uncomfortable or really upset.

Dave I was just in a match where we got gravved, and then our Zarya thought it was a good idea to shoot HER grav at the Genji in front of us and well you can imagine about how well that went. So our little group got double gravved. But our Zarya still got potg out of it so I guess it could have been worse.

that is the second funniest in grav thing i’ve ever seen/heard, the first funniest being the genji who deflected the enemy mccree’s deadeye back into his own grav’d team

I was especially interested to read that they have different types of animals speaking with different mita or regional dialects - so the lions speak Tainui dialect because of Tainui’s association with Kīngitanga, the Māori King movement, the hyaenas are Ngāti Kahungunu, Rafiki is Tūhoe and Timon and Pumbaa sound like they’re from Te Tai Tokerau. (They’re looking at featuring Ngāi Tahu, from the South Island, in the dub of Frozen which is the next project, and Moana mostly featured Te Whānau-ā-Apanui and Ngāti Porou dialogue.)

I have a lot of problems with the ways Disney operates as a business entity, and with their weakness in matters of queer representation to date, so I’m not just blanket praising them, but I do think it’s pretty cool that they are working with Matewa on projects like this. I don’t know if one would follow from the other, but wouldn’t it be great fun if they eventually made an Aotearoa-set animated movie, developed from the outset as a bilingual production showcasing Māori talent?

I’m trying to get better at dropping things I’m not enjoying

i’m actually a level 10,000 master at dropping things i dont like immediately, laying out the cut and dried reasons why, and then moving on with nary a glance backwards. But i really dislike having such strong opinions about entertainment that it creates distance between me and other people, or that the only things i can say about what they like are critical and negative.

 I want the possibly untenable goal of both having my strong personal thoughts and opinions, and being able to discuss stuff i dislike without being abrasive to people who love it. But quieting the disdain and letting go of the beef I have to see the positive qualities more clearly takes a lot of internal effort.

I may try Food wars again another day but i’m a bit in despair over the next suggestion: Overlord, which is another one i have already thrown into the swimming pool of Anime Not Intended For Me, A Gay 28 Year Old Who Has 0 Interest in Huge Tiddies
