Alan Rickman sadly passed away on this day 7 years ago.

I know a lot of people complain about how much more lovable Snape was in the movies compared to the books because of him, but I honestly feel no one could have brought out the complexity of Severus Snape as delicately and brilliantly as he did. He handled the character with such nuance and care. From the sassy looks and comebacks to scenes involving heavy emotions like 'always ', his acting was soo utterly brilliant and captivating. No one else could have done justice to Snape's character the way he did, he basically commanded the audience's attention with every line he spoke.

RIP ALAN RICKMAN and thank you for so flawlessly bringing out such an important character to life. You will continue to hold a special position in the hearts of generations of potterheads.

Just another thing to be mad at JKR for. One day in the future, when she eventually passes away, I'm going to feel so conflicted.
