Ralph Penbury but he’s drunk/high/both and staring at your lips while you talk to him. He leans in closer and you quiet instantly, the words dying on your tongue as he closes in on you. He licks his lips and you think that maybe he’s about to kiss you, the thought alone has your eyes fluttering shut in anticipation just as the butterflies flutter about in your tummy. However, just as your eyes close, you hear him clear his throat and then softly ask, “W-what- erm- What lip balm do you use? It smells lovely, like lavender with a hint of rose. Is it, er, is it tinted? It looks beautiful on you, l-lovely even.”

You have to stifle a disappointed sigh as you open your eyes and collect your thoughts before you answer him. Little do you know, Ralphie does want to kiss you and, maybe, after another bump of coke or another glass of champagne, he’ll finally have the courage to do so. However, for now, he’ll content himself with asking questions, specifically ones that are in his comfort zone of topics; the kind of topics that overlap with both his interests and that of his sister and her large, socially-important friend group. One such topic happens to be skincare, something the male Penbury twin is very passionate about (hence why he has a lovely, mostly-smooth complexion).

🧨 : An unexpected headcanon for Ralph?

Ralph is surprisingly dominant. Don’t get me wrong, he’s a switch to his core; he’s fully capable of and immensely enjoys fulfilling both roles. However, he definitely has a slight - very slight - preference for being in charge, mainly because every other aspect of his life has been almost entirely out of his control. His career will be his father’s choice; he is the only son in the family, so he will naturally take over the family business once his father passes. His entire social circle is full of Victoria’s friends. Indeed, even most of his day-to-day activities are dictated by the elder Pickering-Harmal-Hill twin; go to brunch here at this time, then meet Lottie Whitehead for a game of croquet at this other time, then go shopping for the next party, etc. You’re the only person who ever allows him to be in control of anything, and he takes full advantage of that.

Of course, he’s certainly more of a soft dom, simply because he finds it hard to ever be mean or degrading towards you. However, he will do his very best to rise to the task if you ask him to be a bit rougher with you. He also doesn’t have many rules - or, at least, none that hold up outside of the bedroom. Ralph doesn’t want to treat you the same way everyone else treats him (always ordering him to sit up straighter, to smile less, to be quiet); he just wants to be there for you when you need someone else to take the reins, so he tends to be - what some would consider - incredibly lenient with you. Moreover, Ralph absolutely loathes having to punish you, which makes it all the better that your actions hardly ever warrant punishment. The two of you had always worked quite well together, even before you became a couple, so there are hardly any severe disagreements; there’s even less outright defiance. When there is defiance of any sort, all it usually takes is a stern, disapproving look from either one of you (depending on who is being the defiant one in the present circumstances) or even a gentle but firm reminder to get the disobedient party back on track; you two click so well.

At first, taking charge wasn’t easy for Ralph; he’d spent a lifetime being bossed around, having his creativity and ambition consistently stifled, so he struggled with confidence issues. Although it didn’t take long for him to acclimate to a more authoritative role, within the first four months of your relationship, he’d already become a natural leader. Now, a year into your marriage, it’s as if Ralph’s always been this self-assured, assertive man - both in the bedroom and out of it. Something about being with you gives him the strength to finally tell his sister to back off and the confidence to defy any person who would have him hide who he truly is; an adorable, vibrant man with a heart of gold, a killer fashion sense, and a strong tendency to giggle when he gets excited.

Eddie probably is even tho circumcision is really common here, but not because he’s parents were morally opposed to it… just because they really didn’t care enough about him to make any kind of decisions when he was born, the most they truly ever did for him was give him a name and somehow manage to keep alive til the age of 8 or 9, when Wayne moved in with his brother (Eddie’s dad) and took over most of Eddie’s care (I’m sorry but I hc him as having a pretty shit mom too… I think people often forget that mom’s can abandon their kids and also be shit parents… like that’s really not all that rare). Ralph definitely isn’t (I’m sorry, he just isn’t). Am I forgetting anyone???

Ralph wanders off at a carnival, making you lose sight of him, so you go all Daniel Day-Lewis “I’ve abandoned my boy!”… Just anxiously running around, desperately searching for your Ralphie. Meanwhile, he’s having a helluva time watching some guy on stilts masterfully juggle colorful wooden pins at one of the outdoor shows.

Ralphie has never said much about his job, but you’ve seen how exhausted it makes him throughout the week

Nevertheless, he still tries his hardest to always make sure you know you’re loved and adored by him

He can see how much work you get done when he’s not home and he’s always so happy to get to home home to you every day

Still, even on his days off, he can get exhausted quite quickly

You had your own list of things to get done during the day, but for some reason, today had racked on more things than you were used to

Dishes, dusting, vacuuming, and of course you had to go out shopping for the groceries and a few new accessories Ralph had ordered for the two of you to wear to dinner next week

The both of you laughed when you arrived home at the same time

Ralph brought his things inside before helping you bring the groceries in and you put them away together

The house was quiet and once the both of you looked over at each other after putting away the groceries you both agreed you needed a well deserved night of relaxation

No getting all dressed up, no going out, no parties, just peace and quiet at home together

You went upstairs into your shared bedroom and changed into your pajamas, letting your hair down and helping Ralphie brush out his curls

He gave you a sweet kiss onto your cheek before helping you brush out your own hair, making sure to be gentle

With one more kiss, you grabbed a few things from your bedroom and headed downstairs into the living room

Ralph grabbed his ukulele to quietly strum and you grabbed a book to read on one of the sofas

He had lit the fireplace and turned on the radio to play some soothing music for the two of you as you sat onto the couch

He had even grabbed one of the soft throw blankets from the hall closet and draped it over you on the couch before heading off into the kitchen

Once he came back he set a little tray of snacks onto the table before you as he sat next to you on the couch

Cheese, crackers, a few little fruits that were prepared in the fridge and some meat from the local butcher you had been saving for a night like this

As you snacked and talked about your days you couldn’t help but lean over to sneak a few kisses onto his cheeks as he sat next to you

You knew he loved it when you gave him lots of affection

He had laid himself onto the couch, his head resting in your lap as he quietly strummed on his ukulele, one of your hands holding up your book while the other was in his hair, massaging his scalp

It had been so long since the two of you were able to have a nice night in together, especially one as relaxing as this

Every now and then he’d stop his strumming and look up to you for a moment, only for you to give him a smile and lean down to give him a gentle kiss before going back to your respective hobbies

He always loved getting to relax with you after long days like this one, but just being able to come home to you was enough to put a smile on his face again

omg that is a little difficult to imagine 🫢 but i think i have an idea of how he would act…

Ralph is used to having people shut him down, especially his sister

Whenever he gets upset or angry, he doesn’t have any big outbursts or even looks visibly upset

He’ll shut down and close himself off for a little while

He needs some time to himself just to calm himself down and recollect his thoughts

He would hate to be near you when he gets like this, he’s never had an outburst in front of you, or anyone else for that matter, but he would hate to do something he knows he shouldn’t

You’d always want to check in on him though

You’d see him sitting in front of the fireplace, quietly watching the flames as he took deep breaths to help calm himself

You’d have some tea for him and maybe a snack and leave it at the side table for him whenever he’s ready

And of course you’d give him a little kiss on the forehead because you know he probably needs it

He knows you’ll be waiting for him when he’s ready to come out

There was only one instance that you’ve ever seen him go over the top and lose himself

You were at another one of his parties, enjoying yourselves and just having fun with one another, but there was one partygoer that just wouldn’t leave you alone

He kept trying to talk to you, buy you drinks, flirting and he obviously wasn’t understanding that you weren’t interested

Once Ralph saw him get a little touchy with you he made sure to be firm and let him know that you were with him that night but he just wouldn’t listen

When Ralph saw him grab your arm and try to pull you onto the dance floor with him it was like he saw red

Ralphie yanked you back into him and with one swift motion the other man was knocked onto the floor, his drink spilled all over him

He was never the type to be confrontational with other people, but when other people weren’t treating his lady with kindness and respect then that was crossing the line

Ralph would never ever want anyone to make you feel uncomfortable, especially some brute that wouldn’t take no for an answer

No one messed with you for the rest of the night, and you were able to spend the rest of the evening with your handsome man

Though sometimes you wished Ralph would be like that with you a little more often

He was so dreamy when he was being possessive

It was completely out of the ordinary, and though it wasn’t him, you loved it when he made sure others knew you were all his
