lol talking to a family friend & told him im trying to get diagnosed for adhd bcs the more i learn about it and treatment options the more hope I have that I can have some semblance of a better life for myself and instead of being like “good for you” he’s playing at the “oh but narcotics are stimulants and you’ll get a dependency and you can’t trust big pharma and it’s not worth it.” Like you’re not entirely wrong but you’re incredibly narrow minded & don’t know what you’re talking about if you think that the only medication for adhd are stimulants (there are other drugs that aren’t stimulants that can help to clinically “normalize” an adhd brain), and also like how dare you try and tell me that trying to build a better future for myself where i don’t feel like dying everyday isn’t worth the risk lmaoooooooooo

#soooo easy for someone to say who can wake up when they want to & doesn’t have emotional disregulation that makes them want to physically #harm themselves multiple times a day lol #as well as being able to pay attention to any singular thing for more than 2 seconds unless my livelihood depends on it LMAOO #also like im not stupid this information is from the leading ass researcher of adhd whose been studying this ish for DECADES #he said himself you wouldn’t withdraw insulin from a diabetic patient #it’s the same thing with adhd your brain cannot do the jobs it needs to do so why would you prevent yourself #from being able to do them if you can ?#like I didn’t pull this ish out of my ass but he sure did lmaoooo im big mad he’s so dumb sometimes #ranting im sorry I will def delete this just need to vent #search up Dr. Russell Barkley #& listen to his episode on Ologies - Attention-Deficit Neuropsychology #honestly kind of changed my life & made me feel seen for the first time in kind of forever
