Featured National 62yr Old Shurugwi Man Offers US$5 Bribe To Uncle Who Busted Him Raping His 9yr Old Niece 10 June 2021 By A Correspondent- A 62 year old Shurugwi man allegedly attempted to buy his freedom by offering US$5 to the uncle of a nine-year-old girl who walked on him while he was rap_ing his niece. The man, the court heard, allegedly rap_ed the minor in her mother’s kitchen as she was giving him water to drink. Instead of drinking the water, the man allegedly rap_ed the girl while her siblings were playing outside. Her uncle only came in as the man was rap_ing the girl before dressing up and offered him a US$5 bribe to conceal the matter. This was heard yesterday when the man appeared before Gweru regional magistrate Mrs Phathekile Msipa facing one count of rap_e. He pleaded not guilty and was remanded in custody to today for judgement. It is the State’s case that on November 6 last year at around 11am, the complainant was playing with her two siblings aged seven and one year at a road near their homestead. Their mother had gone to a funeral wake. The court heard that the man, who was walking along the road saw the minors and asked the complainant for water to drink. The man allegedly gave the complainant’s seven-year-old brother his catapult and asked him to shoot some birds. While inside the kitchen, the man sat on the bench while the complainant fetched him water. When she brought him the water the man allegedly asked her to sit on his thighs and she complied. Discombobulated

I can’t stop just feeling off. Things are weird, not working, surreal, expensive, loud, louder, dirty, dry, wrong, more than I want, irritating.

Something just combusted tonight.  Started when I spent the afternoon on the phone with Cando, laughing with the funeral director at Dunnigan-Dix about how much the funeral folders would cost if my parents used their services, and wasn’t it ironic that for a million years my parents were _in charge_ of producing the funeral folders? 

Then Kirsten Newby asking me if I’d take in Charlie’s cat for two months. The Charlie that is obsessed with kissing me whom I had just gently rebuffed from pursuing me, who PK is staging an intervention with to keep him from committing suicide on his 25th birthday and helping him into a treatment center. (For what....I don’t know. Let’s just discuss what it would be like for me to take care of this kid’s cat for 2 months when I was trying to keep him at arms-length. But that I’m also feeling guilty, because why shouldn’t I help? Especially when I can?

Then the conference call with my neighbors about the $800 deck repair project for which my association does not have funds in reserve to pay for so I’ll need to produce it this week, along with the $1600 for my new computer since I broke my iPad, plus wow, check that out, appears something is wrong with my freezer, likely that the temperature coils are iced over since I accidentally left the door ajar in 100-percent humidity earlier this weekend because I was getting popsicles out and could not be bothered to ensure the door was closed, and now the fridge is warm which means I need to do something like defrost the freezer or call a repairman or just suck it up and hope all my food doesn’t spoil. Why not spend a couple more hundred dollars when you don’t have a job? Good clean fun.

The 3 hours of tap dancing outside my back window. It’s more every day. It used to funny. Now it makes my nerves hurt. I see this poor girl tapping away and I want to throttle her. This poor, clueless, super-nice girl from Minnesota teaching tap dancing on Zoom in the backyard. I know she’s moving in 6 weeks and try to talk myself out of being an asshole about it. But not sure I’ll make it past tomorrow

And then my walk tonight. My glorious silent nighttime walk that has gotten me through 5 of 7 nights a week this long, lonely, isolation. Tonight it was cacophonous. The fireworks, staccato and on the beat without a break. Delivery trucks. City utility trucks. Cars zooming up ramps to the freeway. The dude walking up H Street with a _freaking boombox playing rap_ on his shoulder, just striding along behind me. The drunken couple down Broadway, weaving, holding each other up with both arms, in my way, blocking my vision. The reverb of the train engine pulling the commuter rail into South Station, the orange line train on the tracks next to it, the dirtbikes and mopeds and tricked out motorcycles going fast and loud down Arlington and Columbus and Herald Street because why the fuck not.

Suddenly, everything just hurts. My head, my ears, my soul, and I can’t see it ending. There is no quiet beach. No quiet street. No way to sit in my apartment without a malfunctioning fridge and a tapdancing neighbor and the neighbors packing boxes above me.

I’ll be extra glad to sleep tonight. I’m craving it. Craving the silence, and hopefully a reset.

Isaac Sithole, 43, appeared before Harare magistrate Edwin Marecha charged with rap_e. He was advised that the lower court could entertain his bail application since the victim was not a minor before the case was remanded to today. Sithole will lodge his bail application. The complainant in the matter is a 42-year-old woman residing in Rhodesville Squatter Camp, close to Sithole’s residence. Prosecutor Peter Kachirika alleged that at around 1am on April 22 Sithole returned home drunk and started calling the woman’s husband. The court heard that he did not get any response because the woman’s husband was not home and he went to the house where he was attended to by the complainant. It was alleged that Sithole told his neighbour’s wife that he was going to sleep with her that morning, but the woman did not respond thinking that he was just acting drunk. Sithole allegedly opened the door of the complainant’s tent and removed her blankets before turning to the woman and making her lie on her back facing upwards. According to State papers, Sithole then lowered his trousers and pulled the woman’s panties aside before forcing himself on her. The complainant screamed for help but it was alleged that no one came to her rescue until Sithole had finished the act and left. At around 6am that same morning, the complainant was seen by another neighbour weeping and she approached her. When she enquired what the problem was, the complainant narrated how Sithole had slipped into her bed early that morning and forced her into se_x. The woman was accompanied to file a police report against Sithole, leading to his arrest.
