Hey everyone! I wanted to make a list of my favorite fics/authors because all of these fics are just SO GOOD and deserve to be appreciated more.

#1 @gimmethatagustd if you have spent any time on my tumblr you know how much I adore Jai. Jai's writing was some of the first writing I found when I joined the fandom and every fic that is put out is wonderful. Two fics I want to highlight are Wannabe photographer and Keep Singing This Lie (Taekook)

#2 @borathae SIBI!!! I have visited Sibi's master list so often because there is so much to discover and all of it is just so well written. Sibi is one of those authors where when a fic is posted I stop EVERYTHING to sit down and read it. The Sanguis Duology had (and has) a major chokehold on me and I find myself itching to reread it even though I read it only a month ago. I'm going to link Sibi's master list because I can't choose just one fav fic

But do you think that because of jk's songs like seven, snty and 3D which were like gp friendly jk's popularity in sk might have increased? See i know that the sk industry or gp does challenges that fit the tiktok kinda vibes and even jisoo's flower was done by many many ppl (it actually reached my country too where i didn't just see the kpop fans doing the trend but even some celebs who never does anything related kpop doing the challenge or using the song) and jk's all these three songs were are actually pretty popular in sk. alot of idols has mentioned him as their fav/role model and even has recommended other songs from his album too. isn't it like being popular and having strong fb a different case? So do you think jk is more popular?? Seven did well in SK because it did well all over the world. 3d and snty not so much, like crazy did better than both those songs in all major aspects. If a song's acclaim and chart placement lies on how many people joined it's challenges, then I luv it by Kamila cabello would be number 1 on the hot 100 right now. Some people just join these challenges for fun, doesn't mean they're listening to the song. Like we can all see the chart placements of both songs

Also this man has been everywhere since 2022, Hybe made sure of that and you're surprised he's being name dropped by every kpop idol. That's literally how idols move, they name drop songs or artists that are trending at that particular moment. If this year some other soloist that isn't jk gets the same coverage and success that jk got in 2023, they're going to ignore him and talk about that person. You think none of those idols listen to other BTS members especially jimin? Or have y'all deluded yourself into thinking jk's album was the only one these idols listened to and liked? I guarantee you that they're also tons of idols who listen to rapline and love their music.

But they're going to mention the one member that was being shoved down their throat because that's how they also get publicity for themselves. And it's one reason why unlike some pjms I will never hype these random name droppings from idols because I know how it goes. Next year they're going to focus on the next trending idol or group and not even acknowledge your fave. It's like how idols jump on TikTok trends, it's not because they like the song or the singer, it's for visibility.

Let me use le sserafim as an example (no shade to them), during their promotions last year they danced to flowers by Miley because it was popular when they probably don't even listen to it but what they got in return was publicity because Miley posted them on her Instagram. They mentioned Taylor repeatedly during the time when her name was all over the media for the release of her re-recordings, they've name-dropped Beyonce in a song they teased in Coachella which makes sense because she's been the most talked about person on social media this year and has one of the most popular songs of the year so far, now they've also been linked to Sabrina carpenter in Light of her new found chart success. That's how the industry works. Name dropping or joining challenges doesn't necessarily mean they're listening because those idols could drop their 2023 Spotify wrapped, and you probably wouldn't find any Jungkook song.

Jimin has spent a long time at the top of Spotify Korea and like crazy got almost 200k unique listeners on melon, just a 100k+ below seven, you think none of those listens came from idols? But why would they name drop him after all the shit that happened with his debut and also when bang and scooter made sure all jk's achievements stifled his?

jk has lot of fans who favour him but i don't know if he has the most SOLO stans. it's same as tae where he has lot of stans but more than 60% of them are shippers. in terms of solo stans who only stan their fave I feel like jimin has the most no of solo stans, even if most of us are ex-armys rn we only work hard for jimin.

jimin hate gets 2k likes from this fandom because majority are jm antis more than they love their fav. just like how kpopies token stan tk to hate on bts and jimin. mostly a jm anti twt will have blinks, jjk, tkkrs and kths along with rapline solos in likes meanwhile pjms twt with 1k likes only has pjms in the likes. and if u look back last year every jjks and kths had atleast 4 twt acc each😭 they created it mostly for poll and use the acc to ratio etc.

jk has the lot of support from stans, armys and shippers and even kpopies token stan him while jimin is the least favoured member from armys & kpopies but jimin has the most number of solo stans imo? like jm doing same number as jk without full fandom support shows he has lot of solo stans while tae lacks it, his core fandom are shippers. jimin core fandom is solos& armys while jk core fandom is shippers and armys. core fandom as in those who pull most weightage for the longevity

Oh this is so true. Everything in this is really. I definitely agree with jimin having the most dedicated solo base cause truth be told jjks don’t really do anything. They just sit back, crack the whip and watch armys do the work. They’re hyper aware of armys lap dog status towards them and they’ll exploit it everytime to their advantage. That parasitic/symbiotic relationship couldn’t have worked out better in their favor. I know boycotters armys are disappointed and I know they’ve been boycotting, but I still think that the reaction the fandom had for Taehyung was completely different from the reaction they had for any other member. My timeline on twitter (surprisingly) is not just Taehyung biased people, I have seen the stuff they said for Taehyung for a picture of 2yo fries. They made fanarts depicting him as a monster, unfollowed him, Ari (I’m sure you know who I’m referring to) created a side account to talk shit about him and wishing medias would lash on him. The reactions were disproportionate and it’s clear to everyone, I have never stated that trying to inform someone is wrong I just said that if Tae was the one posting Pharrell on his account he would’ve gotten funeral wreaths outside the company, and you know it well too.

And then there's the critics like you Anon, who hate as a hobby and do so in as verbose a manner as you can manage because you know how painful it is taking time to read that shit.

You have never listened to Black music before, particularly R&B and Jazz, because how are you so unfamiliar with 'scat singing'?

You haven't actually listened to Closer, the song's lyrics you posted, because if you did you'd know it's not Joon singing those lyrics and given the singer's style, it's likely not Joon who wrote those lyrics.

I have zero problem with actual critiques of BTS's lyricism. Despite myself I too occasionally cringe, but I like the guys so I deal with it.

I've seen this critique of BTS's lyricism before, and particularly about the rapline's participation. I'm entirely indifferent to this debate, if there's one.

Indigo is an almost perfect album and I mean that sincerely. The amount of soul in that album? Christ. See, one reason I love Joon is because he is such a student. That man can be dense, but when it comes to music he pays attention and it shows. Indigo is a sonic and cultural feast for me. It calls to me on such a deep level like y'all don't get it. I'm living for this blend of Korean and Black music because Joon's Indigo is the best expression of this idea in k-pop I've ever seen. Anon, you quite frankly don't deserve to ever listen to it. The soul and sass in that album will be completely wasted on you. You strike me as the sort who reads James Baldwin but would scoff at the music Baldwin loved to dance to. Which is all well and fine, but do me a favour and skip Indigo.

for mini it's it's actually hard to pick but his lil ep hit so freaking hard and was so unexpected for me and listen i am not really a lyric girly like i will listen to a song in english mind you could know all the words and sing it but not really pay attention to what it's saying at all like there's this one song i love and i swore by that song listened to it on repeat for hours wanted it played at my wedding that's never gonna happen and everything and like a year later i realized it was a breakup song all this to say that the english version of like crazy makes me soooo insane specifically the line "emotions on ice" like that one line right there changed the trajectory of my life BUT THEN there's alone and like i said NOT really a lyric girly so the way that this song sounds and just the composition is SOOO clever like in the chorus part where he's like "day and night fall" and when he says fall there's that voice effect that literally drops and the overlapping "mayday, get me out of here" that's literally a cry for help like that is so freaking genius and caught me from the beginning and it's just so it's a song i really like to listen to even tho it's really sad LOL BUT THEN there's set me free pt 2 which i realize now i could've just led with bc it really does have both those elements like it has that sound that makes me vibrate and the lyrics that alter my brain chemistry (especially when he's like raise your hands for the past me i'm just head in hands about that line AMONGST MANY OTHER PARTS) AND THE PERFORMANCE MY GOD i don't even know where to start talking about that one so i won't so let's just say set me free pt 2 is king for me

for yoongi i literally decided on my way into the house after getting off from work that dday was my favorite from the album like i was going back and forth between dday and sdl and decided that what takes sdl to the top for me is adora's adlibs like she really snapped but if i was picking my fav from yoongi bc of yoongi it's dday like y'all don't understand the way i be blasting that song everyday on my way to work it be like 5am and i'm in the car volume turned all the way up talm bout time for some paycheck and i'm riding downtown 😭 it's become my ultimate hype song me thinks

and i know my seokjinnie only has the astronaut but it's SO good like "when i'm with you there is no one else and i get heaven to myself" is such a wonderful and lovely line and when he starts belting about how much he loves me god my heart is so full i am at peak military wife whenever it comes on

and the babies haven't released anything yet but i will use this opportunity to say that i am forever changed by taehyung's jazz covers like that festa video that dropped had me listening to jazz for the rest of the week and like you can tell how much he has improved as a singer his voice is just like honey and i gulped it down with a cup of tea fr like i've probably watched it five times by now i love it so much and for jk can i just say that i miss when he was in his silk sonic phase like i was literally screen recording that one live when he covered leave the door open for the first time honestly i have most of that concert screen recorded LOL like baepsae hip thrusts and all but i think of all the songs jk has covered and my god there has been plenty his cover of leave the door open is my favorite and i'd like to hear more of him with that sound there's also this one other song he covered once it was during one of his morning lives it was a korean song and he was imitating the singer but i have no idea of the artist or the song but just know that there's a section in my brain that holds that one specific cover dearly

okay, kths' hatred is explainable: 80% of them are tkkrs if not more

rap line stans: rl is less popular than jimin so they arrange constant pity parties against him. what is more, jk and th seem like their children while jimin??? well, i dont get their hatred as well. probably insecurity and envy that miraclously expands only to jimin.

i've never seen jin stans who really hate jimin (only shippers as taejin or jinkook and there goes my opinion that the problem with "tae" and "kook" there).

It’s not that they hate on jimin cause jk is lacking in anything (in a general sense) they just hate on him because he’s direct competition to jk. Ntm the bigotry they have in congruence towards jimin. A good chunk of jjks are tkkrs though or at least they’re attracted to th. They hide it well enough, but they’re lenient on him for that reason. It’s also because he’s not a threat to what actually matters to them which is music.

Kths are somehow convinced that jimin is the bad friend in their relationship and that’s why the CLAIM they don’t like him. (it’s pure projection 🥴 ) but yes for the most part, they don’t like jimin cause they’re th biased tkkrs.

For rapline stans it’s exactly that lol. Not “children” but they don’t really take issue with those two (outside of them thinking rl is superior artistically) since they’re “safe”, traditionally attractive in the typical male ideal and don’t upset the status quo in the group dynamic like jimin does.

Jin stans hate on jm in general. Haven’t even seen the ones that don’t like him because of shipping cause that’s never really been their MO? but they’re so few in number it’s hard to see much anything they say unless you go looking for it.
