So yeah it's really hard to find some good Mytho-centric angst in this fandom. Seriously it's like finding a needle in a haystack.

So I said "fuck it, I'll do it myself" and created this monstrosity.

I always wondered how (post-canon) Mytho would deal with the fact that he was essentially corrupted and did some pretty bad things throughout the second half of the series. After all, he was supposed to be a hero, wasn't he?

But while the other three characters of the main cast had a written story role that they went against for the greater good, Mytho had gone against his role as a heroic fairytale prince in one of the worse ways possible.

He knows it wasn't his fault that he tried to sacrifice the hearts of poor innocent girls. He was under the effects of raven's blood.

But it wasn't the Raven who did those things. It wasn't the main antagonist of the story who committed those crimes.

It was him.

And now he has to live with that fact, because that's how the finalized story of The Prince and the Raven was written.

like, okay. could you imagine making a character who is diegetically the emotional core of your show. a guy who has no agency or emotions with the main plot and crux of the story being centered around returning those to him. creating three other deeply fucked up main characters who are all fixated on and devoted to this man in varying degrees. this dude who is, by the way, the type of guy whose food has clearly been laced with rarefied savior complex for his entire existence, judging by the way he jumps out of windows to save birds from flying while wearing no pants. imagine making that kind of guy and, need I remind you, making the main storyline about recovering his agency and emotions. and then as soon as he has some of them back, you immediately steal them and get his ass possessed. causing him to act exactly like an entirely different character and say his exact lines. for an entire season of the show. oh, and you had two of the other main characters act extremely abusive and controlling towards him for the previous season, but you don't address it under any circumstances. and then, just to do a little trolling, you reestablish that the force that possessed him affected one of the other characters by corrupting her instead, and you only didn't do that with him because you didn't want to explore his emotions. the emotions of the guy whose emotions the hook of your show and main storyline is about. imagine.

Then just think about how bad poor Mytho must be feeling after everything.

Imagine having to live with the fact that you (unwillingly) attempted (multiple times) to sacrifice an innocent girl's heart to ressurrect a monstrous entity which is actually your greatest foe. Imagine performing all of this when you were supposed to love and protect anyone around you.

Even if Mytho's reputation as a prince stays intact after everything, I personally wouldn't say the same for his self-esteem and dignity.
