So I played Queen Anne's retinue
I was curious what a Prince Philippe + Queen Anne's retinue route would look like, so I decided to choose it for my VFV replay, and I have to say, I have so much more respect for Anne after this.
She doesn't really approve of their relationship but doesn't discourage it either. It's funny to see her giving MC romantic advice to get with her own son.
She's very protective of MC and I find it endearing.
As it was to be expected, we almost never get to see Philippe in S2, especially since we're not in his retinue. On the other hand, we get to help Bonne escape her father's control, and now she doesn't have to deal with all the problems by herself.
This is interesting. Philippe mentions in S2E1 that his mother had Jules removed from court for introducing him to "the Italian vice", but her statement might indicate otherwise. Did Jules deceive Philippe in any way? Maybe he used him and broke his heart?
Even during the advanced stages of her illness, Anne commits to teaching MC everything she knows about spycraft and court politics, filling in for Alexandre (I had MC leave his control in S1 in this playthrough).
At her deathbed, she promises that MC and Bonne will be taken care of and mentions her "gift" (she wants MC to be made a duchess, so she can keep Bonne under protection from her father).
And the saddest thing is, I realized she cared for Philippe too, but never expressed it to him, or maybe he never noticed. I still hate that she humiliated him, made him feel inferior to Louis and antagonized both her sons all her life, but now I see Anne has more depth that she shows. She's so proud of MC for everything she accomplished. I wonder if she would eventually give her and Philippe her blessing? Anyway, it was very interesting to play this route, and I recommend you try it someday.

Unlocked a good ending with the Prince 🥰
And with our boyfriend Armand ♥️ (nsft image under the cut)
I’m gonna miss them, this story, and especially Renée so much. What a great m.c 🙌
Looking forward to further replays & adventures however, as the branching in VV is unparalleled, & leaves so much more to explore…

Confession:
"maybe it’s just me but achievements aren’t really a new feature i’m loving. sometimes, they rely on things that are path based, like the achievement you can only get by sleeping with armand and philippe at every chance or how you have to exhaust resources in order to get it (restarting the chapter/the entire book) - it is growing on me but sometimes the 10/30 gem reward doesn’t feel worth it for what you have to do :("

Boat scene S1E9 fencing with Prince Philip
What a fine sword you have prince Philip 🤭
LMAO HE'S SO FUNNY. I didn't expect it. I can't wait to romance him
Have you studied the sword well, my prince? Cause I have to admit there's some competition going on with your brother. He gives multiple orgasms see 😏
Alas, that would never happen. He's the spare.

Why is it so hard to choose a LI and I don't know who should I finally choose to be with :
The Flowers of Tiamat : Niall or Kingu
Kali: Call of Darkness : Amrit or Ratan but I'm now leaning towards Ratan
Vying for Versailles : Prince Philippe or the King
Arcanum : I'm now with Rob but sometimes I still think about Damon
Heart of Trespia : Wyatt or Reinhold

When I first started Romance Club, I started Vying for Versailles. It's definitely a great game. I started Heaven's Secret until the new episodes were uploaded, and while I was waiting for the new episode of Heaven Secret, I started song of the crimson nile , and I'm still waiting for the new episode.
I guess I'm not destined to play rc in Diomand Rush...
