5 thoughts on Vyying for Versailles (after replaying season 3):
Ending where we don’t ask Louis to make Alexandre a noble > Ending where we get a public wedding. Even though MC and Alexandre’s vows scene was cute, the other ending just felt right to me? Continuing to be colleagues and having a lowkey relationship was more fitting for my calculating MC. I like to imagine that they got married later on and Alexandre eventually gets the title he deserves.
• WHY didn’t Alexandre wear the black outfit from the spy ending during season 3?? He looked so good, wtf.
• Having a conversation with Gabriel during the ball made me realize how sneaky the king is. The fact that he was complaining about Gabriel and saying he couldn’t stand what he was doing when in reality he asked for Gabriel’s help and was approving his plans?? Louis is the real villain of VFV, change my mind.
• The poisoning plot was interesting but I didn’t get what happened to Condé and Henri afterwards :( A conversation is cool and all but that’s it?
• Mademoiselle de Noailles is truly an icon and I really enjoyed her social climbing journey💗 In my path, she went from lady in waiting, to official mistress, to duchess, and finally became one of the King’s advisor.

I absolutely cannot understand the appeal of Alexandre. For two reasons, mainly:
He is 17 years older than MC and it irks me out.
I look at him and I can only see brazilian actor Igor Rickli 💀

In order ; altruism path, calculation path, hedonism path.

one idea i had actually was that in season 3, if you're romancing maria theresa, i think it would be an insane yet maybe not so bad idea to have the option of poisoning louis. this would pretty much alter the entire story and at the scene where you catch bonne or louise or whoever is trying to poison the king -- during that route, YOU would be the one doing the poisoning instead of the one catching them in it. maybe i'm reaching but i think that would have been an interesting idea, you getting caught or not would depend on your stats & gameplay

Bonne: Have you ever read something so explicit that you feel like you need to go to church and stay there for a year?
Renée: Send it to me.

Catherine: I mean come on, let’s just hug it out. Come on, hug it out.
*all of Prince Philippe's retinue reluctantly struggle into a group hug*
Chevalier Philippe: Hey! Who’s trying to take my wallet?
Renée: Sorry.

Aunt Suzanne, coming up to Renée at some social gathering with a bunch of her lady friends: There she is, my sweet girl!
Renée, in her aunt's stolen pearls, holding a cigar and a half-full bottle of wine: Wha—?

Catherine: If you had the choice between François and all the money I have in my wallet, which would you choose?
Renée: That depends, how much money are we talking about?
François: Renée!
Catherine: Three ecus.
Renée: I’ll take the money.
François: RENÉE!!!

Renée: I have three things that people want. I’m hot and I’m smart.
Armand: Isn’t that two things?
Renée: No, it’s three. I count hot as two. I mean, *gestures to herself* come on.

Hedonism Path Renée: Five years. Cool. I’ve got the next two and a half hours planned, and then there’s darkness.
