RE:Code has finally relaunched!

I know i dont post here a lot anymore, but i felt it was only right to post this here cus RE:Code STARTED here.

As of right now, we have 2 pages up, and im HOPING to keep updating every Wednesday. Im very excited about this project still and very excited to get it moving again!

If you dont want to wait for weekly drops, you can also get early access to pages for $5 on my KoFi!

Remembering the process to get the PSVita (to play re:code) makes me very nostalgic~

The thing is about Sora, is that the story is about him, but yet not, especially post KH2. He becomes the hero, yet also the scapegoat. The one who gets sacrificed, for everyone else, without thought for the boy who is the key to everything.

When everything is thrown at him in Dream Drop Distance, he can't cope, unlike Data-Sora. Because for some reason everyone else expects he can handle it. But he can't. By the time KH3 rolls around, he's experienced all the things, but actually face it and accept it, like Naminé mentions in Re:coded? Nope, not even close.

No, he's just a sacrifice. Even all that pain he faces isn't about him, but about everyone else. He sees himself as such, as he choses to save Kairi, never thinking he's important or that his own pain matters in some way.

The thing is...the story didn't start out this way. The first three stories: KH1, Chain of Memories and KH2, were all centered on him. It was his story, his journey to find his friends. Perhaps he was forced to begin such a journey, but he put his heart into it. He wanted to find his friends. And then he does. The story could have ended there.

But it doesn't. I'm not one to say that it should have ended there, because I rather like the stories that came after. But, it lacks something so important: that personal touch. Sora only does all this because he feels that the others need him. They gave him something so he should give back. Not a bad reason, but it lacks that spark.

And really, if you look at Ven...Sora's the one who's given a lot. Not the other way around. Sora doesn't owe him nothing.

So while I do truly love what we have, let me say, I don't view Sora as a savior or a scapegoat. I want him to have that personal reason. Make the story much more about him, just as it was in the beginning. I want him to face is own hurt, not just the hurt of others. He's a hero...who needs saving.

Re:coded is often remembered as the game that "doesn't matter" or "skipable" but I always disagreed that it has purpose like showing that a data version of Sora— a version everyone thought Sora was could handle hurt. It's something that was proven wrong by the actual Sora.

However, I noticed something even more interesting and that has to do with Naminé and COM.

During Halloween Bastion part 2 when you're helping Riku recover, you have this moment from the Novel since it's easier to follow than the game.

It is implied that the person who added data was the person who had the journal's data represent Riku.

The reason this is a big deal is because it is Naminé— if she added extra data inside you about hurt and then she chose Riku to be the person who represented the Data it leaves the question to why.

I often wondered why is it a Data version of Riku. It struck me as oh Soriku and we have these cute moments, but there is a deeper meaning. In Chain of Memories we learn that Naminé replaces Sora's memory of his important people one is Riku (and the other is Kairi).

Since Naminé knew how special Riku is to Sora, it would make sense for her to pick Riku as the person to represent the Journal's Data.

I also want to add that his appearance is the exact same one as how Riku looked at the end of Chain of Memories as he still had short hair at that time, but had the Organization Coat on.

Naminé knew Riku was special to Sora as she took memories of him and planted herself in place as you couldn't take memories from nothing. It's kinda like in a lot of "magic" type things you have to have something of equivalent value.

Then in Re:Coded it is also revealed that everything that's happening in the journal's data is revolved around Sora.

So who is picked to represent the data's data again — Data Riku. Meaning his world revolves around Sora and they're deeply connected.
