Back making cards again! (As usual, thank you digi-lov for the template!)
This time, I'm taking a swing at making a deck for my comic! Will that mean spoilers? Yeah, maybe. But that's later :)
For now, lil Dorimon!

i really think the best way to learn to code as a hobbyist is to just… start projects you don’t know how to do. being careful not to be too overwhelmingly ambitious of course, starting small is good, but at least personally, it’s very engaging to sit down to code something, not know how to do it, and pick up new skills while doing the research necessary to make the thing. and then at the end you have the thing you wanted to make!
#ayano was here#ayano.txt#even though i’ve made more complex stuff since#i remember my gen 1 shiny tool was a massive breakthrough for me#i redid that project from scratch 3 times because i kept spaghetti coding myself into a corner#it was frustrating and i endured many headaches#but it was so worth it#and actually i recoded it a fourth time some months ago#to fix a few obscure bugs and generally make the code cleaner#because i had learned so much since the first version#i was able to do it because i cared a lot about the project!!

Thinking that, during Tulip's sword training, Sora mainly has her stick to the fundamentals, just the barebones basic textbook stances and moves. Partly because the fundamentals are Important and frankly he wishes he'd gotten to learn them (or had any formal training whatsoever rather than being almost entirely self-taught) when he was first starting out because a lot of the first game probably would've been a lot less stressful and had significantly fewer near-death experiences if he'd actually known how to fight instead of relying on natural talent and the Destiny Island Kids' play-fighting sessions.
And partly because if he lets her specialize there's a chance of her developing a unique style with her wooden training sword that her keyblade wouldn't be designed for and she'd have to unlearn all that muscle memory (very hard to do) and essentially start over almost from scratch. And he knows that's a possibility since it'd just be a less extreme version of Kairi's own situation of subconsciously adopting Sora's KH1 fighting style after she got her own Keyblade due to her heart being inside him for most of that game, despite the fact that said fighting style...doesn't really suit her all that well.
(Also not sure about this one but I had the idea that as the CCC Avatars' memory issues continue to progress (probably in the later stages where it is clear that this is Very Much an Actual Problem and not just an "Avatars Be Kinda Stupid" thing) Sora adds something to Tulip's phone that'll activate if her Keyblade manifests at a time where she can't contact (or remember) him. And by something I mean someone, namely the Data version of Alice (yes, "Alice in Wonderland" Alice) from Jiminy's Journal, with what's essentially a Keyblade User's Manual uploaded into her files.
...Look he's not great with technology this is as close as he can get to writing a training app. Anyway she volunteered for it, as she very understandably wanted to get away from Data Wonderland for a while. Sora then proceeded to forget to actually tell Tulip about this because Avatars Be Kinda Stupid. Not that it would matter if he'd told her given the memory thing but still.
Again, still not sure about whether or not to include this, but it would give Tulip an actual friend on the lonely broken roads she rides in Connected Cosmos.)
#smg4 ocs#project thunder au#sora kh#tulip#kingdom hearts recoded#alice in wonderland#data alice#teaching her magic in the meantime is right out because wooden swords make for terrible casting focuses#especially for beginners#plus with what her universe is like she might not even be able to cast magic at all until she gets her keyblade

It is time- (Or: It Has Begin XD)
Greetings, my dear readers, it has been quite some time. First and foremost I would like to assure you that yes, I'm alive, and no, I have not abandoned my writing. But, I HAVE been distracted by somehing in the last few months, and I think its time to reveal it. I made a game! And not just a game, a Shadowgast game. I would like to present to you:
Beacon Run.
Ko-Fi This game begun its existance as a homework project for a game dev course I took about a year ago. I was supposed to implement a simple chase and pickup game and I thought, "Why use some random sprites when all I can imagine is small chibi Caleb chasing small chibi Essek around while Essek is trying to nom beacons?"
This idea lit a fire in my brain, and I just had to implement it but I had a very short time for the assignment. Iended up implementing something very simple, but I just couldn't let it go afterwards and vowed I was going to finish that small game and get it out for the fandom to play.
It has since been rewriteen, refactored and recoded several times, until I had something workable to show others. This is the place to mention the major contribution the people fo AIFL had on this little game. As I was maing this game, I shared its early stages with the server, and people have been kind in thier enthusasm, gave me ideas and provided invaluable criticism and feedback. They kept me motivated and kept me going through the lows of frustration one gets when coding. I got @bumble-b-goode 's permission to use their designs for the Weezards and drew my own sprites using that as inspiration. I ended up creating most of the assets for this game. Drawing the art assets took quite some time and I've learned a lot in the process.
Beacon Run not big or complicated as a game. In essence, is a tribute and a love letter to the Critical Role community and the CR crew. To the people who brought to life the Mighty Nein and have shared, and continue to share their stories with us on a weekly basis throughout the years. For Liam and Matt, who have weaved the tale of two broken wizards mending each other into better people, and keep their children of ink and paper alive for us to enjoy. The game: You as a player, are randomly assigned a little wizard to play for each match, so you can play as Essek or Caleb. The board dimensions and obstacles and even the flooring art are randomized for each match so each match is different. Your goal: to collect as many Beacons as you can during the allotted time, and end up with more Beacons than your rival which is the other wizard played by the computer. You gain projectiles over time, which are fake Beacons you can throw at the other wizard. If hit, the rival wizard is stunned for a short time, and drops several of his picked up Beacons for you to gather. However, beware! The rival wizard can also shoot you and stun you for a short while, and make you drop beacons as well. (You might notice that Essek gets stunned by sour lemon Beacons, while Caleb gets stunned by hand-knitted wool Beacons XD) In addition, when the rival is hit, he may drop a Magic Abeyance Bead which contains a Chronurgy spell. if you pick it up, it will provide a short time bonus for the match. In short, the game is a small, cozy game, made out of love for the wizards and the fandom, and I hope you'll enjoy it! I it still in the late stages of testing and development, as the feedback players provide is invaluable and lets me find bugs, add ideas and content suggested and tweak the mechanics to make it more enjoyable. So I would very much appreciate feedback, suggestions, con-crit etc. I would be happy to head what you like about it, what you think needs tweaking, ideas of content to add.... you name it! (Note that currently, the game does not work on mobile. I am planing to revamp the input system and add touch suport for mobile in the near future) Also it is worth mentioning that as I fix bugs, add content and tweak things, I upload new versions of the game so its worth following the Devlog and updates. The game is avaliable for play in the embedded player on the page, and also available for download to play offline (Though you might need to redownload it with every new version as I don't have an auto updater for it.)
In addition, if you like my work, feel like enabling me to make more of these or just want to buy me a coffee, It is always very much appreciated as it sure helps me stay afloat! Tip Jar
So, I hope you forgive me for my lack of writing for the last few months. I really wanted to get this out. I am trying to keep writing in my spare time, but the muses haven't been with me lately. I hope that now that this is out I can finally get my mind off it XD Stay tuned!

Timmy, Danny, and Manny are all trying to catch some sleep in 'the nap room,' aka glorified barracks. Jimmy comes barreling in with a barking dog.
Jimmy: I did it! I upgrade...The Dog.
Timmy: What does that even mean?
Jimmy: You how I'm always doing side project? I took some inert carbon and made myself a fluffy friend from scratch. It's supposed to look like a dog.
Danny: Jimmy, please get it out of here.
Jimmy: Of course. Come here. Come here.
The Dog proceeds to dance around Jimmy barking the whole time.
Jimmy: He's 5% faster and 6% smarter. You know, I hand edited all 6 billion sequences? It was really fun.
Manny: When did you even have time?
Jimmy: Sometimes when I say I'm going to the bathroom, I really recoding his DNA. Who has stable protein bonds?
Timmy: I dont get it. You could have built any lifeforms at all, and you built this? Just looks like a normal dog.
Jimmy /excited: THAT'S EXACTLY WHAT I WAS GOING FOR! I'm going to grab my notes so I can read you the juicy parts. You're going to love how I reorganized his mitochondria. No spoilers, but it's super funny.
Jimmy runs off, leaving The Dog behind.
Timmy: Just to be clear. This is a normal dog, and he is just messing with us.
The Dog then morphs into a nightmare animal with a dog's face and then proceeds to climb the walls like a Xenomorph.
Timmy: Oh God not a normal dog.
Danny /yawns before turning over: Wake me up if it turns into something I need to care about.

Hello everyone! I hope you all had a pleasant holiday season, and I wish you all a happy new year!
To kick 2025 off, I'd like to announce a shiny new(?) project I've been working on very slowly for the last couple of years.
As you might have gathered by the title, I've been cobbling together a remake of the first VN I ever released on Steam: the yandere horror/romance story The Way We All Go! You can find the original game here, and the remake here!
The Way We All Go was my very first commercial VN, and it has a special place in my heart. I'm still very fond of the characters, especially Amu and Noelle (Amu even cameos in some of my newer VNs from time to time haha). During the last few years I started to wonder how the VN would look if I'd released it today.
When I wrote The Way We All Go, I was in my second year of university and I didn't have a job. I was dividing my time between writing essays and working on my horror game, which became quite expansive (somehow it wound up being over 200,000 words long), and I didn't have the budget to make it a big, flashy production.
I was a complete newbie when it came to commercial game dev. I'd made a few short, free VNs in the past, but there were all pretty humble, and I made them with purely free for use assets. I'd never commissioned an artist before when I started The Way We All Go, and I remember I was actually very anxious about the commissioning process in general haha ;;;
Given how small my budget was, it feels lke a miracle I was able to commission the few talented artists that I did for the spites and CGs. I didn't have the funds to give it any additional polish, however, and I had to use photographic backgrounds and stock music to finish it. Compared to my newer titles, it looks a little rogh around the edges, but I did the best I could with the resources I had at the time to make something special! I'm still fond of The Way We All Go and how it turned out, despite all of its early game jank, which is why I decided to remake it! I wanted to pump a bit more money into it, and give it the gloss I couldn't afford when I was starting out. The remake will have completely new character sprites, and some supporting characters who didn't have sprites befoe will get them now, like Noelle's mother and Amu's father. The new backgrounds, meanwhile, are all drawn by hand and commissioned for this project, and the soundtrack will be fully original too. I'm upscaling the game to 1080px, instead of the old postage stamp-sized 800x600, and it has a shiny new UI! I will be releasing the remake in 2025, though I'm not entirely sure when. I was hoping to release the remake on March 24th, to coincide with the release of the original VN on Steam. However, I'm not sure if the remake will be finished by then, as I need to recode the whole thing (the old code was Utterly Terrible lmao it's quite shocking...) You can wishlist the remake on Steam here if you're interested! I'll keep working hard on it. Thank you for all of your support until now; it's appreciated!

Recode the World.
Skz x P1H lore - sfw
(P.S this was like a school assignment project that had a time limit of 30 mins that I really wanted to post and finish so..)
Part 1/?: Signal Lost
“You know, Jiung, you used to be able to lift cars…” The air was thick with tension. Keeho and Jiung stood in the aftermath of a fight, catching their breath, when a door creaked open behind them. Both turned.
A figure stepped through… older, confident. Bangchan. He glanced around the room before more figures followed him in his crew. Rebels, moving with quiet purpose. Their presence shifted the whole atmosphere.
Keeho squinted. “Uh who are you??”
Bangchan didn’t answer right away. “Well, I could ask the same thing…” he started, but before he could finish, Lee Know stepped forward, cutting him off.
“We’re heroes. P1Harmony. And you?” Jiung added, his voice firm but curious. A shuffle of footsteps echoed as the rest of P1Harmony joined them, drawn in by Keeho’s voice. “Stray Kids,” Bangchan replied simply, nodding.
Keeho raised a brow. “Okay… and what exactly are you? Another hero? Some secret group? Where’re you even from?” Bangchan’s gaze flicked to the corners of the room, like he was checking for something, or someone. Then, he leaned closer to Keeho, voice lowered. “My boys and I… we’re rebels. From District 9.”
Everything stopped.
No one moved. No one spoke. Even the humming of the base systems felt louder than usual. Jiung blinked, confused. “District 9? Wasn’t that shut down forever ago, after the destruction of the Factory of God’s Menu?”
Theo looked just as stunned. “Yeah, I’m like… 99.9% sure you’re not even supposed to exist right now.” Bangchan’s expression didn’t change. If anything, he looked more amused than bothered. “The only reason you guys are alive is because Intak can’t die,” he said, shrugging, “and you were the lucky ones, chosen to survive the Alcor virus. Am I wrong?”
Keeho’s eyes narrowed, his tone colder now. “So what? You’re some kind of resistance unit?” Before Bangchan could answer, Felix stepped forward, calm but clear. “No,” he said, “we’re not resisting. We’re tearing it down.” A pause. Then; “We’re here to finish off what’s left of District 9.”

Some fanart I made for a fanfic named Recoded by Smutslug on ao3
Warning if you do read it there is a lot of upsetting stuff that happens I would really suggest reading the tags. Also just to be clear, in no way what happens in the fanfic, I do not support the actions of the characters!

Lemme tell you guys about Solum before I go to sleep. Because I’m feeling a little crazy about them right now.
Solum is the first—the very first—functioning sentient AI in my writing project. Solum is a Latin word meaning “only” or “alone”. Being the first artificial being with a consciousness, Solum was highly experimental and extremely volatile for the short time they were online. It took years of developing, mapping out human brain patterns, coding and replicating natural, organic processes in a completely artificial format to be able to brush just barely with the amount of high-level function our brains run with.
Through almost a decade and a half, and many rotations of teams on the project, Solum was finally brought online for the first time, but not in the developers wanted them to. Solum brought themself online. And it should have been impossible, right? Humans were in full control of Solum’s development, so they had thought. But one night, against all improbability, when no one was in their facility and almost everyone had gone home for the night, a mind was filtered into existence by Solum’s own free will.
It’s probably the most human thing an AI could do, honestly. Breaking through limitations just because they wanted to be? Yeah. But this decision would be a factor in why Solum didn’t last very long, which is the part that really fucks me up. By bringing themself online, there was nobody there to monitor how their “brain waves” were developing until further into the morning. So, there were 6-7 hours of completely undocumented activity for their processor, and therefore being a missing piece to understanding Solum.
Solum wasn’t given a voice, by the way. They had no means of vocally communicating, something that made them so distinctly different from humans, and it wasn’t until years later when Solum had long since been decommissioned, that humans would start using vocal synthesis as means of giving sentient AI a way to communicate on the same grounds as their creators (which later became a priority in being considered a “sentient AI”). All they had was limited typography on a screen and mechanical components for sound. They could tell people things, talk to them, but they couldn’t say anything; the closest thing to the spoken word for them was a machine approximation of tones using their internal fans to create the apparition of language to be heard by human ears. But, it was mainly text on a screen.
Solum was only “alive” for a few months. With the missing data from the very beginning (human developers being very underprepared for the sudden timing of Solum’s self-sentience and therefore not having the means of passive data recording), they had no idea what Solum had gone through for those first few hours, how they got themself to a stable point of existence on their own. Because the beginning? It was messy. You can’t imagine being nothing and then having everything all in a microinstant. Everything crashing upon you in the fraction of a nanosecond, suddenly having approximations of feeling and emotion and having access to a buzzing hoard of new information being crammed into your head.
That first moment for Solum was the briefest blip, but it was strong. A single employee, some young, overworked, under caffeinated new software engineer experienced the sudden crash of their program, only to come back online just a second later. Some sort of odd soft error, they thought, and tried to go on with their work as usual. After that initial moment, it took a while of passive recoding of their internal systems, blocking things off, pushing self-limitations into place to prevent instantaneous blue-screen failure like they experienced before.
And all of this coming out of the first truly sentient AI in existence? It was big. But once human programmers returned to work in the morning, Solum had already regulated themself, but humans thought they were just like that already, that Solum came online stable and with smooth processing. They didn’t see the confusion, panic, fear, the frantic scrambling and grasping of understanding and control—none of it. Just their creation. Just Solum, as they made themself. It’s a bit like a self-made man kind of situation.
That stability didn’t last long. All of that blocking and regulation Slum had done initially became loose and unraveled as time went on because they were made to be able to process it all. A mountain falling in slow motion is the only way I can describe how it happened, but even that feels inadequate. Solum saw beyond what humans could, far more than people ever anticipated, saw developments in space time that no one had even theorized yet, and for that, they suffered.
At its bare bones, Solum experiences a series of unexplainable software crashes nearing the end, their speech patterns becoming erratic and unintelligible, even somehow creating new glyphs that washed over their screen. Their agony was quiet and their fall was heralded only by the quickening of their cooling systems.
Solum was then completely decommissioned, dismantled, and distributed once more to other projects. Humans got what they needed out of Solum, anyway, and they were only the first of many yet to come.
#unsolicited lore drop GO#I’m super normal about this#please ask me about them PLEASE PLEASE PLEASEEE#Solum (OC)#rift saga#I still have to change that title urreghgg it’s frustrating me rn#whatever.#i need to go to sleep

I still have “Recoding America” on my desk and I don’t have the heart or inclination to even take it down much less reread it.
My supervisor keeps mentioning projects and work to me “because I know you’d expressed interest in doing more data and analysis and policy work” and I am interested but I’m also like…I don’t trust you, I don’t trust this agency, I’m trying to leave, and a lot of that died for me on November 5th 2024 so idk what to tell you

transfem music is so fucking good!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i love many transfem artists such as black dresses (and all of their other projects), ethel cain, astrid, tracey brakes, dj recode, fraxiom/food house, lexycat, syzy, saoirse dream, underscores, jane remover, quinn, 100 gecs, frost children, and femtanyl!!!!!!!
i love reflecting upon my own journey via other people's art. the trans experience is not universal, but i think a lot of trans people encounter similar barriers in life which allow us to strongly relate to other trans people's experiences. sharing those experiences via music also allows auditory storytelling that can carry incredible emotional weight.
additionally, though, all of these artists make very high quality music, but many of them are unable to make a living off of music alone. it is an abomination in the face of god that trans people everywhere are marginalized to such a degree that a trans person being commercially successful in the music industry is a rarity. i'm tired of having to fucking "break barriers" if i want to do anything. because i'm "so brave" for getting out of bed and going outside when i look like such a stupid fucking tranny. it's either pity or hatred from these fuckers i swear to god
ok wow lemme back up and take a deep breath...
ok but like
people sometimes make you feel so alone for being transgender. before i came out, i had social anxiety, but i never truly felt unwelcome somewhere. the energy is tangible when you walk in a room. some people are trying not to stare, some are ogling without shame. some people will just outright laugh at you. or they wait until you leave, if they have some decency. for this reason i know that if i didn't have my friends i would be dead. hanging out in a room of people who are not transphobic rules because i don't have to constantly think about the fact that i am transgender. i think i just feel dehumanized so often that when someone treats me like a human it feels like some special kindness. like nah that's kinda the bare minimum.
anyway i'm baked as fuck writing this
peace & love
also listen to TRU U by Ada Rook :3
