i've gotten so used to my daily practice of reading french aloud that now when i have to read something boring in english for work i default to reading it aloud. which takes way longer and also i feel like i retain even less information than i would otherwise, somehow. the upside is that my oral reading cadence in english, even of dense scientific articles, is rather excellent nowadays. i could read scientific articles out loud for a living, if that was a thing people needed me to do. which they do not, because screenreaders are a thing. maybe i could read crusty PDFs out loud for a living? but anyway all this is to say shoutout to my man alexandre dumas and also my other man victor hugo for training me to read run-on sentences in my second language. after that, dry journal articles in my first language are easy peasy.

I know we make jokes about tumblr affecting our brains but apparently tumblr has altered my understanding of friendship entirely. Pocahontas II is my personal favorite sequel. There are definitely better ones (Cinderella III is probably the best one, and so is Lilo and Stitch 2, imo) But… MAN! IDK! It just… idk I can’t explain why it hits the right spot for me.

Every International Women's Day, you will find that progressive publications publish their manditory IWD article about how we should focus more on women in the global south and yet we can't because upper class white women have their pink cupcakes and their CEO jobs exploiting the working woman by being customers and crying about Barbie not getting an Oscar nomination. god it's still insane to me that people froth at the mouth talking about how h*nry is some noble bastion of book canon purity who is intent on staying humbly true to his most beloved character in the face of those terrible, money-hungry writers and showrunners who wish to change it all!! when it's like. his character barely resembles his book counterpart even as early as s1 ep1 and not all of that is on the show's writing.

I've been enjoying all the articles that people have been writing lately about Final Fantasy since Final Fantasy XVI has come out, like where they've been ranking various things from Final Fantasy (in their personal opinion). Or just talking about Final Fantasy in general.

Like today I saw an article where a site was talking about games that, in their opinion, was just as dark as Final Fantasy XVI, or at least plenty dark. Since some fans are criticizing that FFXVI is perhaps too dark for the series. I definitely agreed with this article and appreciated it.
