#rebels: family reunion and farewell

I know we’re all wondering when, exactly, Thrawn picked up an entire reconstructed hallway from the Lothal Temple.
The theory I usually see is that Palpatine told him to do it so he could do the whole “tempt Ezra with his past family” thing, but I have a funnier idea.
Thrawn just did that.
He stopped by this cool, awesome temple they were excavating, got called away before he could really get to analyzing the whole thing, and was like, “You know what? Fine. But I’m taking this hallway. Clear out a cargo bay, list it as one of my art projects, this is mine now. Bye.”
Then the Temple sunk, and I’m sure Palpatine was very disappointed, but Thrawn - who needed to get back into his good graces, fast, after Treason - pointed out that he’d saved an entire hallway. Perhaps the Emperor would find that of use?
And the Emperor decided that actually, that was perfect. But he’s putting a squad of Royal Guards on it. It’s his now. Thanks, Thrawn, once again your weird art hobby is somehow useful, you strange, strange man.

Okay, so I've been gatekeeping this edit for way too long now 😅. I just couldn't find time to post this but now I've plenty of time and the 1st thing on my list is to post this here.
Basically it is an edit on the parallels from the episodes Jedi Night and Family Reunion and Farewell on the song Exile by Taylor Swift.
Here's the edit, I hope you like it <3
Gosh tumblr don't ruin the quality 😭😭

Challenge 2: A Gif or Screenshot of a favourite Kalluzeb moment.
This is some real “they certainly are standing next to each other” content but hear me out. My favourite Kalluzeb moment is anytime they move to be next to each or look at each other in the finale.
Here, Zeb is walking in with Pryce and Azadi.
Tumblr media
But instead of following them, he decided to stand by Kallus.
Tumblr media
Or here, where Zeb is standing behind Hera on the platform, right in front of the stairs.
Tumblr media
But instead of following her down those steps, he goes the long way round so he can go down the other stairs with Kallus.
Tumblr media
There are a few moments in the last two episodes where they turn to look at each other and they will always move to be standing near one another.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It’s nothing huge, however, this is animation. Every one of these tiny motions had to be deliberately put in and probably cost extra money to do meaning someone decided that spending a little extra money on animation so that Zeb and Kallus could share a look in the background was worth every penny, and whoever made that decision has my whole heart.

Call back to the Forces of Destiny video in which Ahsoka teaches Ezra that he doesn't need his lightsaber in order to defend himself. (x)
And as I mentioned at the time this video came out, this lesson came in handy when Ezra went aboard Thrawn's star destroyer unarmed.

Chapters: 1/1 Fandom: Star Wars: Rebels Rating: Teen And Up Audiences Warnings: No Archive Warnings Apply Relationships: Alexsandr Kallus/Garazeb "Zeb" Orrelios Characters: Alexsandr Kallus, Garazeb "Zeb" Orrelios Additional Tags: Post-Episode: s04e15-16 Family Reunion – and Farewell, Post-Star Wars: A New Hope, Rebel Alexsandr Kallus, Difficult Decisions, Rebel Alliance Intelligence (Star Wars), Star Wars Galactic Empire Era, Galactic Empire (Star Wars) Summary:
‘Have you ever done anything that you weren’t proud of in the name of undermining the Empire?’ Zeb only stared at him with blank incomprehension. Of course they had all used methods that wouldn’t pass the smell test as far as honor was concerned. He didn’t particularly like it, but found it necessary evil. Kallus continued to press him. ‘Did you ever question the ethical boundaries of the tactics you’ve used?’
Zeb sat heavily on the edge of the bed. ‘Sometimes,’ he admitted in a low rumble. He had done many things in the Rebellion that felt right in the moment, but in the quiet aftermath, Zeb looked at them askance for the inevitable collateral damage that affected far more people than their initial targets.

One of the things that strikes me, rewatching Rebels, is how often Kanan is the voice for negotiation and non-violence.
Yeah, he’s the “cowboy Jedi.” Yeah, he’s not unwilling to cause a little (or a lot) of mayhem when called for. But he’s also the one telling Sabine throughout “The Protectors of Concord Dawn” not to kill anyone (“You love making this hard for me,” says Sabine), and the one who confiscates Ezra’s lightsaber before sending him into the spider’s den in “The Holocrons of Fate” (“He’s gotta learn how to solve problems without it.”) His character arc in the show is learning to embrace the Jedi’s role as peacekeepers, and this is the legacy he wants to pass on to his students.
And so it’s notable to me how much they struggle to hold to that after his death. When I watch “Family Reunion and Farewell” I’m struck by how cold-blooded their plan is. The Imperial Dome has the stormtroopers garrison, sure, but it’s also an administrative center—it’s where the minister’s offices are, it’s where civilians go to work. And the plan isn’t just to destroy the Dome; it’s to deliberately lure all Imperial personnel to it using Protocol 13, and then kill them en masse. “All personnel.” Not just all military personnel.
It’s a very effective plan. It’s the sort of plan that would make Saw Gerrera proud. Luthen Rael would be impressed.
But when Sabine says “For Kanan” as she pushes the button, I find myself wondering: would Kanan actually have approved of this plan, if he’d lived?

I'm not the only one who thinks we need a Star Wars What If Show, right? And specifically these What If..?
What If... Anakin Skywalker didn't fall to the Dark Side?
What If... Padme Amidala was force sensitive?
What If.... Obi-Wan Kenobi became a Sith after Qui-Gon's death?
What If... Darth Vader lived at the end of Return Of The Jedi?
What If... Darth Maul left the Dark Side after Palpatine's betrayal?
What If... Padme Amidala lived in Revenge Of The Sith and raised Luke and/or Leia?
What If... Sheev Palpatine wasn't Darth Sidious?
What If... Ahsoka Tano didn't leave the Jedi Order?
What If... the roles were reversed? (every bad character is good and viceversa)
What If... Luke Skywalker fell to the Dark Side?
What If... Darth Vader didn't fight Ahsoka in Twilight of the Apprentice?
What If... Ahsoka Tano and Darth Maul became allies in Clone Wars?
What If... Alexsandr Kallus redeemed sooner?
What If... Kanan Jarrus saved Grand Inquisitor in Fire Across the Galaxy and he reluctantly became part of the Ghost Crew -just to stay alive- until he truly became a rebel?
What If... Thrawn became a rebel instead of an imperial?
What If... the Empire fell, but Anakin Skywalker didn't, and he had to raise Luke?
What If... Thrawn and Ezra had to put their differences aside to survive after Family Reunion – and Farewell?
What If... Ezra Bridger became a Sith?
What If... the Order 66 didn't happen?
What If... the Empire and the Rebellion had to work together to stop a threat, far more dangerous than the Empire ever was?
