Starting a homoerotic love-hate relationship with Path rn

Is there any other kind? 😂

Nah, I mean seriously though, his is the kind of relationship that's going to get a lot worse before it gets better, romance or not.

I think it will be a lot of fun to write the more contentious conversations. A lot of the crew of the Valiant have kind of just accepted certain things about Path as "the way he is," but MC will be able to either empathize or push back against him and call him out on his bullshit (and everything in between).

The main arc of his personal story will also be coming in the aftermath of a situation that would be completely valid for people to be pissed at him for, so that's going to be a lot of fun. It's a ways down the road, but I'm excited for it.

Some of you might have noticed that I haven’t posted a poem for several days now, I’ve been a bit burnt out lately so I’m taking a short break and will be back to posting poems hopefully in a week’s time. I haven’t forgotten about the blog and will keep writing poems :3

Lemon and Spinach White Beans (Vegetarian)

Hearty and comforting, these Lemon and Spinach White Beans are lifted up by the brightness of citrus and the piquancy of chili! Happy Monday!

Ingredients (serves 3):

1 large tin white beans

about 5 cups fresh baby spinach

1/2 tablespoon unsalted butter

2 tablespoons Chili and Herb Oil 

1/2 large onion

1 teaspoon dried basil

1/2 teaspoon Piment d'Espelette or Cayenne Pepper

1/4 teaspoon dried rosemary

1 large lemon

1 medium boiled potato, cooled

1 small garlic clove, minced

1/4 teaspoon fleur de sel or sea salt flakes

1/2 teaspoon freshly cracked black pepper

Thoroughly rinse white beans under cold water. Drain well. Set aside.

Rinse and clean baby spinach under cold water, then, spin-dry. Set aside.

In a large, deep skillet over medium-high heat, melt butter with Chili and Herb Oil.

Peel and finely chop onion.

When the butter is just foaming, stir the onion into the skillet, and fry, about 3 minutes. Add dried basil, Piment d'Espelette and dried rosemary. Cook, 1 minute.

Grate in the zest of the whole lemon, and cook, another minute.

Stir in drained white beans, and cook, stirring to coat in herbs and oil, 3 minutes.

Dice potato, and stir into the skillet, along with garlic. Cook, a couple of minutes. Season with fleur de sel and black pepper.

Then, gradually stir in baby spinach, until just wilted.

Finally, thoroughly squeeze the juice of the whole lemon over the beans and spinach. Cook, just one minute more.

Serve Lemon and Spinach White Beans hot, drizzled with a little Chili and Herb Oil, topped with freshly grated Parmesan, and a glass of chilled rosé or dry white wine.
