Dohktar: Origins
A kind-hearted and generous person, Dohkthar is a jolly, caring, and upstanding being. Left as an orphan and ultimately raised within a Sanctuary of Apollo, he was taken in and raised by the worshippers of the Sun God and during that time, he learned the values of honesty, courage, compassion, honor, and duty. However, over time, these values and morals were routinely tested by others, mostly at the expense of the young half-orc.
One unfortunate night at a tavern, a detestable nobleman made a few foul insults towards a group of traveling Tieflings. Fed up with the noble's behavior, Dohkthar walked up to the nobleman and talked back at him, defending the Tieflings and publicly shaming the noble. Later on, the nobleman and his men ambushed and dragged Dohkthar into a nearby forest and nearly beat him to death. As Dohkthar laid there, beaten and broken in a pool of his own blood and tears. He suddenly felt a burst of emotions he hasn't felt in a while. It was a mixture of sadness, shame, and anger that accumulated within Dohkthar, which formed a raging storm buried within his very self. He made a vow to become the strongest and toughest one there is so that he and others like him will no longer experience the pain he just endured. And with that goal in mind, he marched on back home only for it to be currently ravaged by a reptilian monster.
As he approached closer to the town's gates, he saw the monster chase and corner the very same nobleman that assaulted him earlier. Dohkthar got closer and watched on with a smirk as the monster inched closer and closer to the cowering noble but as it got close, ready to pounce, two solid bricks crashed towards the monster's head. Drawing its attention away from the fallen noble, it turned to see Dohkthar standing all by himself with a fallen wooden beam in his right hand and a metal bar in his left hand. The monster roared and charged at the young hero. Anticipating the attack, Dohkthar dodged and skewered the monster on its side. Dohkthar embedded the metal bar deep into the monster's skin, leaving it there, making the monster recoil in pain. Dohkthar took this as an opportunity to reposition himself into a favorable spot and swung the wooden beam with all of his orcish might and absolutely demolished the monster's head, killing it on the spot.
As the monster withered and twitched on the ground, blood spurting out of its splattered head, the hiding townsfolk gathered and slowly surrounded the corpse of the reptilian beast. They see Dohkthar, standing, with his upper body moving up and down as it rapidly draws air in and out. He seems to be in some sort of trance as he stared at the dead beast and the broken wooden beam on his hand that he just used to take a life. He closed his eyes, snapping out of the trance, and reopened them. Dohkthar threw away the beam and approached the noble. The noble, recognizing the half-orc, covered his face and cowered as Dohkthar approached. Dohkthar stood there, towering over the noble like a giant oak tree. He then stuck his hand out and with a deep, commanding voice, ordered the man to get up. The nobleman peeked behind his shielding hand, unsure what to do. Dohkthar, growing impatient said the same thing but with more of a boom in his voice. Shocked, the nobleman panicky reached out to Dohkthar's hand and as they come into contact, Dohkthar pulled the noble up and with a single motion, spun him around, almost throwing him towards the crowds of the townfolk witnessing this. As the nobleman stood there, still shaken by what happened, Dohkthar just walked past him and with a deep growl, simply said.
"You're welcome."
As Dohkthar walks, heading towards the crowd of townsfolk, he starts to slow down. His vision starts to fade and his muscles falter. Dohkthar succumbs to his earlier injuries which makes him fall down onto the ground. The crowd around gasps and a bunch of them start to carry him. But as he's carried off by the townsfolk to the Sanctuary of Apollo, the morning sunrise broke through the early gray clouds which shine downed a brilliant sunbeam. The light from the beam surrounds Dohkthar, instantly healing him with radiant, positive energy. Dohkthar wakes up, re-energized, stands on his two legs, and looks up at the sun. The people cheered, recognizing that the god, Apollo has saved Dohkthar. And Dohkthar realized that his god has finally granted him his gifts, acknowledging Dohkthar's path of righteousness and devotion to the teachings of Apollo. It was at this moment that Dohkthar's journey as a Paladin has begun.

My newest dnd character! A half-orc paladin named Dohkthar. A lawfully good and caring folk hero. Using what he learned from the Sanctuary of Apollo and their worshippers, Dohkthar goes out into the world, doing good deeds and taking on quests of heroism. He goes out into the world, traveling and helping people, healing the sick, and bringing joy and wonder to anyone who would listen to his many tales of adventure. But last but not least, he goes out into the world to beat the living lights out of anything or anyone who would cruelly bring harm to the innocent. Whether it be criminals, warlords, the undead, or dragons, Dohkthar mightly stands his ground, fighting off anyone who would dare try to take him down.
