#AO3 discourse for ts#remember when that anon accused me of just being jealous because I wanted AO3’s money for myself#bro I’m not out here asking for donations and the only reason I was able to run a nonprofit without pay is that I was financially stable#bro I once got up at 6:30 in the morning to try to claim a Gates Foundation grant because they were giving away a total of $250mil#only to find they’d all been claimed in the first ten minutes#bro I accepted a grant for $300 one year because the grantmaking organization didn’t want to say no to anyone who applied#so every organization got less than what they were applying for. we couldn’t complete the project we pitched! the grant didn’t cover it.#bro I competed for my organization to be the beneficiary of an annual philanthropic event up against a foster agency#and an organization that arranged housing and employment opportunities for people with disabilities#among several others! we were all in it for the same fourteen grand because none of us could afford to pass up any funding opportunity!#that’s the kind of work you do when you are passionate about your cause!#so sorry not sorry but when I see AO3 firmly invested in their inertia? and every answer they give is a defense of inertia?#it really does make me sick!!#one person who gives a shit *can* pull off the sort of work I am talking about! I wouldn’t say so if I hadn’t done it myself!
