Adam Parrish laughing silently, The Dream Thieves, Maggie Stiefvater
Image 1: Gansey raised an eyebrow. "That? Is a toaster." / "Dream Toaster." / Adam laughed soundlessly.
Image 2: "Gansey, don't make light," Malory said sternly. "Those things look like bloody puffins." / Adam's body shook in silent convulsions of laughter.

February 2024 Wrap Up
Why is it that February always seems to last forever? It's got to be one of my least favorite months, although it does mark the anniversary of me meeting my husband, so at least there's that. We've known each other five years!
Books Read: 6
This was a good reading month. Cecilia is my favorite of the month (and frankly should count for three books since it's so huge). The Margaret Oliphant biography is my least favorite, although I didn't hate it or anything. It was definitely less condescending and obnoxious than the one I read back in November that made me want to fight the authors (unfortunately I can't; they're dead). But it was still a little condescending and Williams referred to Oliphant as Margaret throughout, which irritated me. Ones marked with ® are rereads.
Margaret Oliphant: A Critical Biography by Merryn Williams - 3 stars
Salem Chapel by Margaret Oliphant - 4 stars ®
Heartstopper Vol. 5 by Alice Oseman - 5 stars
A Study in Drowning by Ava Reid - 5 stars
Cecilia by Frances Burney - 5 stars
The Villa by Rachel Hawkins - 4 stars
On Tumblr:
Look, I'm posting photos again! I'm trying to post pictures of my fairy tale retellings on Fridays as a small continuation of Fairy Tale Friday. My favorite thing about writing those posts for my blog was taking the photos, and I would still like to do that even though I've moved the feature onto YouTube.

And we've got a fair amount here, including an hour long ramble about The Chronicles of Narnia!

Re-Read-a-thon TBR
[yeah, so this photo is my entire TBR for July, but it’s really hot today and I’m tired and I’m behind on posting this so just roll with it]
[also that’s Antonio, one of my birthday presents; yes he is named after Antonio the Animal Crossing villager and yes that’s why my husband got him for me because ANTONIO IS BEST VILLAGER]
Now, on to business.
I’ve chosen to participate by rereading three books that I’ve only read once before, with the intention of evaluating whether they should be kept or purged from my shelves:
General Winston’s Daughter, by Sharon Shinn
Heart’s Blood, by Juliet Marillier
Ready Player One, by Ernest Cline
Marillier and Shinn are two of my long-time favorite authors and I’ve read most of their published works more than once (though admittedly Marillier is prolific and I’ve fallen behind compared to Shinn’s catalog.) But these titles I’ve only read once a piece, so is that a natural consequence of focusing more on reading new books since starting my book blogging, or is it because they’re not as good as other works by these authors so I haven’t felt the need? Let’s find out!
RPO is a special case. I read it quite early on in my blogging/reviewing career, and given some of the criticism I’ve seen leveled at it since, I’m afraid I fell into the nerd-nostalgia trap and overlooked some pretty serious flaws. I’d like to take a second look and see if I still find it enjoyable when reading without blinders on.

Who else stayed up all night to finish their book? 🙋🏻‍♀️
Even though it’s a cheesy romance novel that could only end one way?
Even though this author ends their romance novels the same way nearly every time?
Even though it’s a re-read and you already knew the ending?
Even though you have a bunch of work to complete today but now you’re a coffee zombie.
Anyone? Just me?
Cool.
Btw: finished “Vision in White” by Nora Roberts for re-readathon ✅

Okay - so I meant it when I said it.
I’m starting my Bughead Fluffageddon ReReadathon.
Send me recs to the fluffiest, happiest, softest Bughead fics you can think of. Send them to me if you wrote them, if you didn’t write them but you loved them and want more people to also love them, if you read them a million years ago and think that everyone should reread them. Send links to favourite authors if you can’t decide on which fic to share. Basically send whatever - so I can read it and review it and share fluffy Buggy love.
Heck - I’ll even temporarily re-open my Anons - if you’re bashful about sharing your own work. I just want to read all the things.
Links please. 💙💛

#ReReadathon is on for about week next month, but I’m thinking of focusing on rereading some of my favourite books for most of the month. It’s my birthday month; why not read the books I love? 😊 This series is one of my favourites (how stunning are the covers?!), but I’ve only read it once - I’d be interested to see if I still love it as much the second time around 😍 . . . #RFABFeb19 | Trilogy https://www.instagram.com/p/BuGbSU-H3wx/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1utcr2ojlm3w9

- The Dream Thieves, Maggie Stiefvater
[Blue brought a pitcher of iced tea to the table. "What's that?" / "Jane!" Gansey said joyfully. / Adam said, "It's a wizard in a box." / "It will do your homework," Noah added. / "And it's been dating your girlfriend," Ronan finished. / Blue scowled. "Are you all drunk?"]

To everyone that was interested in my reread a thon would you prefer the 15th-30th OR the 7th-30th? The idea is to read 1-2 books for every year between 2014-2019(cause that’s when I started keeping track tho if you’d rather just reread stuff randomly you’re free to) so that would be anywhere from 6 to 12 books total. Thoughts?
