Mmmm gem au sabos amnesia coming from the same type weapon spinel used on the crystal gems in the movie. Gem authority just caught up to the asl brothers and system reset sabo right in front of ace and ace was forced to run to protect luffy. Because what’s worse then thinking your brother is dead? Knowing he’s alive and doesn’t remember you and is working with your enemies to hunt you down. And they try and find him to save him but with all the modifications he’s made to be unique wiped clean and the fact that they never referred to him as his cut/facet he’s just one in a sea of near identical labradorites and they just never find him. That’s in part due to the fact that he ‘disappeared’ at one point unbeknownst to them to join another rebellion and they never see him again. Well ace never sees him again.

Idk if it’s more painful if his fracture is fixed by the authority when he’s wiped and he cracks himself voluntarily when he remembers to try and reestablish his identity OR if he was told gem pirates cracked him and that’s why he can’t remember (they say they can’t fix it but that’s a lie) and must hunt them all down and hate them

I think the swipe from the reset scythe caused some initial damage, but from then on it only cracked more and more due to his trauma getting worse and worse.

Thanks for writing all this up for me lol. Its really exactly what i had in mind, and i have a lot more idea for this au, but i just dont got the motivation to write it down/ doodle it out. I’ll get all there eventually… if i don’t lose steam first….

Not to be a rambler on anon, but I really like the way you’ve set this AU! While it has canon elements we all know and love, the changes and additions you’ve added still leaves plenty room for theories and speculation. I know people are impatient for answers, and it’s a shame - guessing can be fun!

One divergent element I like thinking about is the whole “is Steven turning into White Diamond? Are they two actual separate consciousness in one body? Is she trying to hijack the plane?” conundrum we’re having. Listen…

In canon, Steven couldn’t turn back into Rose in any shape; having echoes of his gem’s past identities made us all think so. But no! He and his gem are one. They’re Steven no matter what. In Rose’s words in that video: she became half of him, she gave him her gem, she was willing to delete her own self for that purpose, so he could exist. “We can’t both exist”.

But…

What about White in this AU? We don’t know if she conceived Steven willingly or how aware of the process’ implications she was. My hunch feel is: nope. She likely didn’t want to have Steven… or at the very least, she wouldn’t be willing to give up her self for his sake.

And yet, Steven exists here. So this raises some questions.

Is White’s self fully gone? Is this situation here is the same as canon, and the White we’re seeing are just past memories making their own mess, fueled by Steven’s insecurities?

If “we can’t both exist” applies in this AU… how literal was Rose being? Could she have been her own separate conscious identity within Steven, but chose not to burden him? Could White have given up a part of her gem to Steven, but is now trying to wholly control it back, tempting Steven so he willingly chooses to “reset” the gem? After all, no matter how bothersome she became in dreams, she still couldn’t affect Steven without inciting him first. If there’s two identities within the gem, Steven is clearly the dominant one no matter what.

Considering how “computer programmed” Gems are… White could be fully gone, but before becoming Steven, could’ve “programmed” her gem to “guide” her future identity (Steven) into regressing back. Like installing her own Spinel resetting scythe in her mind, some backup files, hoping Steven will use it and “restore her back”.

There’s so many many COOL possibilities!! And there will be more or less as we learn about White’s motivations - Rose’s love and sacrifice determined Steven’s life, so White’s intentions will have impacts in other forms.

On the meanwhile though, I don’t mind waiting whatsoever. The story’s good and it’s worth the wait! So, thank you for giving us such a complex and entertaining story!

I love this writeup so much it is sincerely tempting to not post it at all, and instead just hold onto it. But I think you raise many fascinating points that people deserve to also see. :)

Also you're incredible for taking the time to type this all out. Reading your speculations is the fuel that fires my cylinders for the next chapter of this journey!

I made a Player character for Undertale Yellow!!!

Mainly because of the implications of Clover somehow being able to change their route and choices without any help from Flowey despite seemingly not remembering the timelines.

Fun facts about Lemon:

-They go by any gender of course, they dress more masculine but can act somewhat feminine at times.

-They canonically have fangs that always stick out a bit when they smile with their teeth

-The fabric around their head isn't a hood, it's like those small strings on your cowboy hats that help keep it on your head/neck but more stylish.

-They have a hate-love relationship with Flowey

-I headcanon them to be the less likely to be actively malicious out of the group of different players(all of the soul colors if they ever got games), like the more likely to say pure in a way. Even when on a Genocide route, they are more playful than murder-y, they know Flowey will bring them all back(though they still worry that the others may never come back from it.)

-They can be slightly easily manipulated if they believe what they are doing is for the best outcome/greater good. (Ex: Killing the monsters, I mean, they deserved it right? They killed those poor kids.)

-They don't exactly fear being alone but would definitely be affected by it, think Spinel standing in the garden sorta thing.

-They fear not being a fearless protector who stands for what's right, if they can't help people then what's their purpose anymore?

-They would gladly go through millions of resets if it means they can help and befriend Flowey.

-They absolutely adore Clover, they just wanna squeeze them in a hug.

-The yellow things on their jacket are actually both for style and free ammo, they can take one off and load it into their gun, another one will pop right back into place!

can you tell us about your trolls x su au or tell us the basics of the story?

Sure! There probably won't be a lot of details because there's a lot of things i still need to figure out.

The idea for the au came because i remembered the song drift away and thought "this is so floyd and branch" and then it spiralled from there. None of this is final btw. things can and probably will change because I don't make aus often. 💀 Also don't think too hard about the su part of this au. Im probably only gonna use the basic parts of it and will barely use anything from the show because I'm mostly focusing on the movie of su and not the serie and epilogue.

I currently only have the roles for the main characters so

Branch is Spinel

Floyd is Steven (but he's still the one who makes the promise with branch even though in su that was pink diamond and not steven.)

Clay is Amethyst

Spruce/Bruce is Pearl

And JD is Garnet

I want to add viva, poppy and brandy too but I don't know which characters they would be yet.

So brozone breaks up. JD, spruce and clay leave and before floyd goes he makes the promise with branch, he stays and one day he'll come back for him. Years pass by and floyd still hasn't returned. Branch's colors are becoming duller as the years go by, he starts doubting himself but never fully gives up hope.

Here's where i struggle a bit with the story because i don't have a reason yet why floyd never came back. At some point floyd reunites with the others but idk the reason yet why branch isn't part of that reunion.

Just like in the song drift away i want branch to get a message that shows floyd and the others so that he realises that he's been abandoned and that floyd broke the promise. That's when branch would go grey. (Idk if I'm adding rosiepuff in this au)

So this is when the su plot comes in. Branch comes with the injector. He fights brozone and in the process everyone gets reset except floyd. When they get reset they're back into their roles before brozone broke up. So clay is back to being the funboy, spruce the heartthrob and jd the leader. With branch i think he would act more childlike or innocent? Because im not gonna make an adult act like a baby 💀

So now floyd has to figure out how to turn his brothers back to normal. I think the order of who comes back is gonna be the same as the movie so clay->bruce->branch->JD.

Oh and the others didn't know about the promise. they didn't know that branch stayed in the garden all those years, Floyd never told them.

Have not thought yet how floyd brings them back.

After clay gains his memory back they go back to the injector and try to turn it off when they realise it's harming the land. They make it worse and now the injector is going faster(?) So they realise they NEED branch to get his memory back or else they can't turn it off.

when floyd manages to bring branch's memory back they talk and he's on their side. He removes the injector and everything seems to be going fine. It's then when branch fears he is going to be abandoned again and thinks floyd will reset him again after he removed the injector so they fight. Somewhere during that JD gets his memory back too. I think most of this part from the movie I won't change. So floyd and branch fight one to one. Floyd sings the song "change" maybe? Idk yet. Branch saying that he can't just make everything better just because he sang a song. He tries to continue fighting floyd but he tires himself out so then this scene happens

I am changing the lines though. I think something like "i just want my brothers back." Idk

I think that's all i have at the moment. I'll add more to this post if i think of anything. Most of my ideas for this au was me looking at spinel clips and thinking "oh i can draw that with branch!"

I hope this is readable because I'm writing this during midnight and am NOT good at explaining stuff. 💀

Went to a really nice gachapon/gashapon shop yesterday and got some neat stuff!

There weren't a whole lot of anime series there that I was interested in, but they had some SpyxFamily stuff so I gave two of them a go.

In hindsight I wish I had gotten more of the sitting figures because that Yor is so cute and her paint job is really good! (She can apparently hold really teeny things in her arms too.) The Anya is… she's okay. What's with the pose (lol)?

I ended up spending the most cash on these CCS figures, which was surprising to me since I hadn't expected to be so drawn in by CCS merch. I got Tomoyo first, then the Kero/Spinel figure, and did one last try to at least get one of the Sakuras (there were four different types in the set). Might have tried for a Syaoran too but I didn't want to push my luck and potentially get a duplicate, haha. Looking closer at them today, the quality isn't the best and the stands are really flimsy and made of awfully cut plastic pieces. However I got all of these for $4 each so I can't complain.

Sylvanian Families mini toys! I got two because I really wanted the one of the ones with the little house case (I got the car set first). These would make good doll props. I just wish I could fit everything in the house case but the car and grass piece are unfortunately too big to fit in AND keep the plastic case closed.

The sole Sailor Moon gashapon machine in the store had mostly the outer senshi, along with Sailor Moon, Tuxedo Mask, Chibi Moon, and a random Sailor Jupitor(???). I wanted Sailor Saturn but got Neptune, which is fine. This is a really nice-sized and nice looking figure for a gashapon machine--it's just a shame about the random paint smudges on her face D:

This was from a $1 machine so I had to give it a go.

Inside the egg is a Transformers-esque My Little Pony toy. The novelty and the awkwardness of this toy is worth more than the $1 I spent on it. But why do I keep getting Twilight Sparkle from blind bags/boxes???

The shop also had claw machines filled with more toys and plushies (mostly pokemon stuff). I managed to get the Sylveon on my first try ($1), but I felt bad about leaving the Umbreon since it was the only plush left in the machine. Umbreon was. Significantly harder for me to grab but I managed it after five tries (plus some free tries from the shop owner who I guess felt bad for me and reset the plush two times). These are cute but they don't sit very well as their heads are so heavy compared to their bodies. Plus I think the Umbreon is missing the keychain attachment from its head (these are probably meant to be keychain plushies), but whatever.

The shop also sold Re-ment blind boxes and other fancier figures. I saw this and had to grab it:

A 50th Jump Anniversary Taikoubou (Houshin Engi) figure!!! I never expected to find a figure for such an old/obscure series in a random figure shop, so I immediately bought it.

I ended up spending around $85 in total (Taikoubou figure included). A little more than I expected to spend, but for what I got I think it was a good deal overall.

When I called him a celestial toymaker I wasn’t being literal, but, uh… I guess this makes sense. Usually, creative gods turn dolls or clay figurines into living beings, not the other way around, but I suppose they’d have that power as well.

”Now what part do I get to play?”

This is a really weird situation, because King and The Collector are both game masters in this situation. You know, if both game masters were also players and one of them had the power to accidentally blow up the house you’re all in if he gets mad that he’s losing.

Oh, and this whole situation is kinda giving me Steven Universe: The Movie vibes, when Spinel got reset and imprinted on Steven. Do you guys think Spinel and The Collector would get along? They both have cosmic clown vibes.

Glad to see Eda and Raine are okay as well. All things considered, Eda’s taking the whole ”losing an arm and It’s The End of The World As We Know It” thing relatively fine.

As they look up toward The Collector and King hanging in the sky, a rendition of Raine’s Rhapsody/Eda’s Requiem starts playing and it is so beautiful.

We~ell, looks like Eda going Harpy Mode made Raine go from Raine Whispers, to Careless Whisper.

It goes by pretty fast, but it looks like The Collector has pulled a Starro the Conqueror and sent out a bunch of starfish to mind control people. So, uh… that’s not great.

Kikimora’s alive too I guess. Who knows, she might be important later.

What I like about this one picture is that while the other Hexside teachers are defending themselves and their students, it looks like Principal Bump is just booking it in the background. He’s laying his legs on his back and hotfooting it out of there. Honestly? Same.

Oh, right… the Owlbeast has Collector-related trauma. Thanks for reminding me, I had forgotten to add that to my list of things I hope gets explained.

What you said about Steven universe really brought something back up with me

Steven universe had an owl house situation,they on the other hand didnt get to explain the story the way they wanted to,they didn’t get a compromise

Man’s when Cartoon Network promised Rebecca a movie honestly hade it worse

I loved the movie don’t get me wrong it was great but the show wasn’t handles right even though it was and had the potential to be an amazingly fleshed out show

It is true that Steven Universe and The Owl House had to deal with network restrictions, but here's the thing, Dana Terrace and her team gave it their all when it came to telling the story that they wanted to tell, SU on the other hand couldn't decide if it wanted to be a wacky slice of life show, or a character driven story that focused on Steven and his psychological trauma.

Like I said before, trying to do an honest to goodness rewatch of this series is gonna be a frustrating experience, because one minute you're going to be watching a pretty good episode with decent world building, and in the next you're watching the writers try their hardest to make you give a shit about Ronaldo.

It's like that Marvin The Cowardly Security Guard bit in the Self-Referential Six episode of Rick and Morty. Where for some reason, this random side character who contributes nothing to the main story arc gets an entire spotlight episode.

As for the movie, it kinda magnifies the show's worst qualities when it comes to the writing.

The entire town is being poisoned by this giant drill, do we see the town's residents band together to try to save their town from being destroyed? Nope!

What about Lars, surely he'd help Steven right? He only gets a cameo.

The OG Crystal Gems are reset, does that mean Peridot, Bismuth, and Lapis are finally going to be given the opportunity to shine as a team? Nope!

They get a musical number, help Ruby and Sapphire fuse, and deal with the drill off screen.

I could go on, but you get the point.

Spinel was the best thing about that movie.

I imagine that Luffy is like a gem who was left behind by his owner in a planet. He meet Ace and Sabo and the freedom of choosing your own destiny. He steals a ship and goes around the galaxy picking gems.

I like this but also I don’t think that luffy would ever have an owner. In my eyes, he’s secretly a diamond (he doesnt know it) so i think that somehow he would be much older than he thinks he is, and at some point he was reset by that reset weapon.

I’m gonna mash this ask in here, too @charkyzombicorn

And then he was found by dragon and was attempted to use as a espionage mission, but because luffy isnt actually a spinel and has kinda the temperament as one but like, just off a little, he was not fit for the role so he was given to Garp.

Garp kept him in a little colony and thats where he met shanks and Makino, but when Garp found out that luffy was looking up to pirates, he was sent to live in a mountain kindergarten area, where he ultimately meets Ace and Sabo. (Dadan and her gang are there too)

He lives with those two for a little under 100 years before sabo gets reset as well and thought to be dead.

From his brother bonds though, like you say, he finds the importance of choosing your own destiny and he steals a ship a few hundred years after Ace does and goes on rambunctious escapades with The Friends We Made Along The Way. :)

Do you think Greg, Bismuth, Lapis, and Peridot would be able to find a way to get Garnet, Pearl, and Amethyst’s memories back and return them back to normal on their own? Particularly Bismuth since she knew Pearl and Garnet the longest?

Yes. I do believe so.

However, I believe it would take a lot longer without Steven helping. I'd imagine Bismuth, Lapis and Peridot would quickly recruit the Diamonds, who wouldn't know how to reverse the effects of rejuvenation, and there would be a lot of stress and grief among them all. I'd imagine the three gems and the grieving father all suffering immense amounts of depression, denial, anger... all because they can't do anything to find Steven.

After all, it was Reset!Spinel's idea of "what if it's like a puzzle?" that made STEVEN understand that was the way to make them remember... and so, without BOTH Spinel and Steven, it would take so much longer for them all to realise.

In terms of Partners In Crime, after a few years, one of the crystal gems would get their memories back by exposure to a piece (by accident or by one of the other gems trying so hard to make them remember), and then they would all understand. Once one of the gems gets their memories back, the others would not be too far behind. The gems would spend every second trying to get them all to remember. Amethyst might be one of the hardest, since a LOT of her character development is based around Steven specifically... but maybe they could simulate something for that.

But with all three gems getting their memories back, they would remember what happened with Steven. Pearl would remember Spinel, they would all have an eye-witness account of the Injector, and the Diamond would have all the evidence they need to track Spinel and her partner down.

Then maybe it's a good thing our main characters still have plenty of time. I wouldn't necessarily call all of this spoilers... more of just a reminder that Spinel's joyride in space with Pink's son is temporary.

One day, she'll run out of time.
