The Ultimate Guide to Creating Eye-Catching Jewelry Storefront Displays
Tumblr media
Know Your Brand Identity
Plan Your Layout
Choose the Right Displays
Create Visual Interest
Lighting Matters
Rotate Your Displays
Pay Attention to Detail
Opening your own jewelry store is an exciting venture, but one of the key aspects of drawing in customers and making sales is creating an enticing and visually appealing storefront. Your jewelry displays serve as the first impression for potential customers, so it’s crucial to get them right. Here, we’ll guide you through the process of setting up your jewelry storefront displays to captivate passersby and showcase your exquisite pieces.
Know Your Brand Identity
Before diving into the display setup, it’s essential to have a clear understanding of your brand identity. Are you aiming for a modern, minimalist aesthetic, or do you prefer a more vintage, ornate look? Your storefront displays should reflect the essence of your brand and the type of jewelry you offer.
Plan Your Layout
Consider the layout of your store and how customers will navigate through the space. Start by sketching out a floor plan that includes designated areas for different types of jewelry (e.g., rings, necklaces, earrings) and any additional features such as a checkout counter or seating area.
Choose the Right Displays
Selecting the appropriate displays is crucial for showcasing your jewelry effectively. Options range from traditional glass display cases to more creative solutions like wall-mounted shelves or freestanding stands. Ensure that your displays are sturdy, well-lit, and able to highlight the beauty of each piece without overshadowing it.
Create Visual Interest
Incorporate visual elements such as color, texture, and height variation to add interest to your displays. Consider using props like velvet fabric, wooden crates, or decorative stones to enhance the presentation of your jewelry and create a cohesive aesthetic.
Lighting Matters
Proper lighting can make all the difference in how your jewelry appears to customers. Aim for soft, diffused lighting that accentuates the sparkle of gemstones and metals without creating harsh shadows. Experiment with different lighting fixtures and angles to find the perfect balance.
Rotate Your Displays
Keep your storefront fresh and engaging by regularly rotating your displays. Introduce new collections, highlight seasonal trends, or feature special promotions to entice customers to come back and see what’s new.
Pay Attention to Detail
Lastly, don’t overlook the importance of small details like cleanliness and organization. Keep your displays tidy and free of dust or smudges, and ensure that each piece of jewelry is arranged thoughtfully to maximize visibility and accessibility.
In conclusion, setting up a captivating storefront display for your jewelry store requires careful planning, attention to detail, and a keen eye for design. By following these tips and infusing your own creativity, you can create a visually stunning showcase that draws customers in and leaves a lasting impression.
Now, it’s time to unleash your creativity and let your jewelry sparkle and shine!

Lip Balmy
The issue of food waste in the UK is one with which we’re all too familiar but, every once in a while, a new innovation comes along to shake things up.
One such innovation has appeared this week, courtesy of biochemist and entrepreneur Terence Chung, who has developed an organic range of lip balms, named Fruu, which are made from fruit waste.
One of the motivations behind the creation of Fruu was to eliminate the use of finite resources from skincare products. The majority of cosmetics contain traces of petrol and oil. Fruu, however, substitutes these for fruit waste, resulting in products that are 100% environmentally friendly.
Terrence said: "Waste avocado is pressed into the oil that goes into guacamole and we put that straight into our avocado lip balm. It's amazing what you can use. Hopefully, this is a first step for driving people to think about how fruit waste can be used.”
With recent reports suggesting that UK households binned £13bn worth of food last year that could have been eaten, whilst supermarkets continue to throw away approximately 300,000 tonnes of food waste each year, it’s easy to become disheartened about the state of affairs.
Here at TrakRap, we’re taking our hats off to Fruu for coming up with a truly innovative and sustainable solution to this issue. Now more than ever, we believe it’s creative thinking which will bring an end to the ongoing problem of food waste.

The exit workshop was yesterday, and already I have RRP blues. It was a lovely end to the project with some nice food as soon as we got there (mm yum). Some really inspiring talks from Emma at Culture Vulture and Dave from Laynes (Coffee shop). It was nice to hear two successful stories and what paths they took to get to where they are today. Then we had a talk from the council and where to go if you need help starting up a new business or evan training to help you get to that point. which is always helpful to be guided in the right direction. But personally I don't think I would be able to start my own business evan if I wanted to, as I do not have money saved and I wouldn't want to risk loosing anything I borrowed. (Pretty wise id say) unless you have an amazing idea with amazing plans, but I don't have that....yet anyway. We had CV help also which is always good to know, as when I do apply for a job there are no room for mistakes in this day and age, as there is not many jobs out there! Then we got our certificates along with freebies from the shop :) thanks Vinspired :) I felt so proud of myself and I have to say this project has just give me so much confidence in myself and its made me realise my potential and what steps to take next in life. And more importantly not to worry about going into a job and not enjoying it because nothings set in stone. I had an amazing reference from Isla and I cant express how much it meant to me reading the words she wrote. Here are a few words: 'You always go over and above and your determination to succeed is evident. The way you have supported your fellow colleagues has been extremely impressive, adopting the right balance of professionalism, integrity and understanding' This positiveness throughout the program and the support iv had has made me find myself again, realise my potential and helped shape my future goals. I feel lucky to have had this opportunity and I will certainly carry these skills forward. My next steps for me is to look into what jobs are on offer at the moment within retail, maybe starting a part time with a shop floor roll. Then building the hours up slowly and ideally making my way up to be a successful manager. I may start a new blog separate from my journey of RRP Leeds to a blog about my journey through retail work. Thanks for following and reading my blog. All the best to anyone opening there own business, working in retail or just trying to find there way in life. You can do anything you put your mind to, just believe in yourself and if you don't, get some people around you who do and you'll start to see it too :)

TIME'S TICKING AWAY
We’ve been so busy over the past few days but don’t worry; we haven’t forgotten to keep you updated.
Everything is moving so fast and we really have been thrown in at the deep end with regards to decision making. After some market research and obtaining samples, all stock has now been ordered. This is divided into two categories; the first is the ‘blank products’ and the second the craft/DIY items. The blank products are t-shirts, tote bags and tea towels which have been screen printed with bespoke designs from five local artists. We want our customers to customise these with the use of fabric pens- which come under the second order! As well as this, there are all kinds of goodies including tie dye kits, retro stamps and stencils and ‘knit your own’ sets.
Setting up the shop itself has also been a big part of this week’s activity. On Saturday we decided it was about time to give the shop some TLC and get it all clean and tidy before the shop fit began. Whilst we scrubbed, scraped, dusted and hovered, team members Adam and Trish began some RRP window drawings. This attracted a lot of interest from passersby and it was great to see so many local people supporting the project. The following Monday we were joined by Janet Vaughan, designer of the shop kit and Dan Thompson of Empty Shop Network. With the help of the two, the shop changed dramatically within the day. Walls were splashed with paint, covered with vibrant purple fabric and transformed into giant chalk boards. Wooden boards were used to partition the shop and metal frames were assembled as fixtures and fitting. The shop looks a shadow of it’s former self and we are so pleased with our progress. All we need to do now is wait for the stock to arrive..
