I'm actually going to lose my mind right now. You have people on tiktok arguing on this post that retaining what you've read in a book isn't important, it's just about the vibes and the experience. And the window they gave is three books in one week.

I said, "If you aren't retaining what you read, then you likely didn't comprehend it in real time. Whether that was because you have poor comprehension skills, the writer is just shit at writing, or your writing style preference wasn't compatible with the writer's. Regardless, comprehension did not occur."

My god, people literally throwing Tamlin under the bus for everything wrong, even with the text evidence in their literal hands. Feyre turned Tamlin’s help down multiple times, and her family assumed she could read for years, but yeah, it’s Tamlin’s fault she couldn’t read.

It’s a good thing it never rained in the Spring Court, or people would start blaming Tamlin for getting their shoes muddy.

The Post report leaned heavily on two top Trump allies. The first is Christopher Miller, who was appointed secretary of defense during the waning days of Trump’s coup attempt. He is a key architect of The Heritage Foundation’s fascist Project 2025, a governing template which, among other things, would require all high school students to take the military entrance exam in order to graduate. (So much for local control of schools in their fascist vision.) [...] Sen. J.D. Vance of Ohio, reportedly a finalist in Trump’s VP horse race, is also pro-draft. “I like the idea of national service. And I’m not talking about in wartime,” he told the Post, saying that Americans need to have “some skin in the game.”  Sen. Lindsey Graham of South Carolina said, “I will take no option off the table” in addressing the nation’s recruiting shortfall, including compulsory service.  Rob Hood, a former Trump defense official, said compulsory service would give young people “a better appreciation for how great this country is.” 

Donald Trump and some of his sycophants are proposing the return of the military draft.

Hey y'all! Slightly weird question for you, but trying to google it is mostly getting me weird health blogs of dubious accuracy: Do you know of any foods or drinks that are natural diuretics*? I was reminded (again lol) last night that asparagus is one, and if one exists I am sure there must be more than one for me to either avoid or take extra salt pills when eating**. This is kind of like when I tried searching for high-salt foods and couldn't get useful results until I searched for "foods to avoid if you need to lower sodium for heart health", but I am not sure what conditions would make people want a diuretic so idk how to word the inverse google search, you know? *I think most people probably wouldn't get much a noticeable effect from foods with diuretic properties, humans are (for the most part) pretty good at maintaining homeostasis, but I'm looking for the ones that (like salt) work on the outliers **I have POTS and salt wasting syndrome, and take a medication specifically to help me retain water that's pretty much the opposite of a diuretic. I can manage eating natural diuretics if I know what they are so I can add extra salt and eat in moderation, I just don't know what they are
