Can I just say it is such an incredible pleasure and honor to have been reading and following tpoh for all these years?? Seeing your improvement in art and how your style shifts and plays with itself, it's honestly super inspirational!!! Sometimes I go back to the very beginning and reread a number of chapters just to look at how far you've come!!! It's probably one of my most favorite comics of all time that I've read, and I especially love how clever your world is !!!!!!!! Everything from the puns to wordplay to the visual comedy, it's amazing and just makes the incredibly heart wrenching moments all the more dramatic and moving. The fields of hesitation, click's introduction, the story RGB told under the ocean towards the market (and all of the subsequent stories he tells), just to name a few of my favorites (they're ALL my favorites!!! I can't just pick one)

You're a wonderful storyteller and I hope you keep doing what you're doing!!!! Hope you don't mind the gushing in your inbox hehheehe

(also sidenote: I really enjoy the development/reveals of RGB's character. He's a guy who cares so much. WAY too much. And he knows it gets him in trouble so he pushes himself away from it, tries to distance himself from caring but it's just. Impossible. He always ends up in way too deep. AND!!!! HES ALSO THE LAMEST GUY IN THE WORLD AND BEYOND!!!! He does something cool/impressive without even thinking about it and he doesn't get a chance to feel proud of himself before being clocked over the head with a hammer of cosmic balance (quite literally sometimes). And then any attempt to be cool on purpose instantly fails. It's my favorite thing hahaha)

so i decided to reread tpoh today and i only got like 30 pages in before coming up with a huge theory lol.

rgb talks about how negative is (most likely) not something that's happened until the start of the comic

and uh... hey you know what's black and white and gave rgb a pretty serious schism at the start of the comic?

not even kidding when I say that everyone needs to read The Property of Hate. Its a beautifully written and drawn (on-going!) comic about a little kid named Hero and a monster TV head named RGB– they both need to save the world from its end.

it has such astonishing visuals, you can see the genuine care, time, and passion that was poured into each page. Every time you reread the comic you find a new detail that you didn't notice before. The characters are all lovely in their own ways and will either make you sob, laugh, or bite your own bones in anger

Anywsys this comic means a lot to me not only cuz its a core fixation, but also because it inspires me a lot on a artistic sense :-) plus it makss me sosososo happy i love it so much

TPOH UPDATE THEORY

OH WE ARE SO BACK!!

I wasn't expecting an update this week, and almost missed it since I checked the website too early, but here we are!

Now there is A LOT to unpack in this page, and if you know my theories, then I'm sure you think I'm about to talk about the parallels between The House of Lead and Negative in this dialogue. Which I 100% will, but another time. I want to talk about the Lead House in itself first.

When I first started with my RGB and Negative theory, I said that the House of Paint and House of Lead where supposed to be parallels to RGB and Negative, and I still stand by that.

But as I read recent pages, reread old ones, and was offered different perspectives from other fans, I'm began to think a lot about Lead House and Paint House as their own CHARACTERS, and not just plot points to parallel other characters.

Just listen to this stuff RGB says, this is very interesting characterization! And also incredibly depressing. Lead House's strange and physics-defying architecture being explained by it trying to fill the void left by being split apart, and it's extreme loneliness because of that is a very tragic situation for a literal house to be in.

And when I first read Double Exposure, I was under the impression that either The Butterfly or Negative owned the house, but this is seemingly debunked in this page. And that fact puts the previous pages in a very different context.

RGB outwrite states it here. This House has a personality, toying with RGB and Hero by trapping them, but not actually harming them. It seems to just be excited to be inhabited by people, when it hasn't for so long, and doesn't want them to leave.

Unlike the Paint House, this House can't be owned by anyone, and chooses it's shape based on whatever it wants. And although it seems to take an interest in the conversation Hero and RGB are having (evident by it spawning in the mirror maze when they were talking about Negative) it doesn't seem to be directly controlled by them.

And gosh I love this panel so much! It seems entirely self aware of how it's gone "cuckoo" due to its loneliness, but turns it into a joke. Or maybe its not supposed to be a joke, and the House just doesn't have any other way to communicate, both options are equally sad.

But seeing how much personality Lead House has, it made me realise that Paint House doesn't really share the same traits.

Its design is entirely dependent on person who is controlling it. Although it reflects the inhabitants thoughts, like Click's face in the trains set, Hero's up-high bed, a bunch of plushies spawning in, etc. All these examples all come from the thoughts, wants or memories of Hero when she has the House's key. I wouldn't say it has much of a personality or consciousness at all.

And though this system may be convenient for our protagonists, it is very inconvenient for the House itself. It straight up FALLS APART when Hero isn't paying enough attention to it! And consistently gets more and more abstract when controlled by a distracted 8 year old's mind.

So, Lead House has more individuality, isn't controlled by anyone and therefore doesn't fall apart or abstract. But, because it can't be owned, its gone insane with loneliness and isolation.

Paint House can be owned and wouldn't be considered lonely, but is far too dependent on others and is falling apart because of it.

Both houses are incomplete in their own way, so the obvious solution is for them to be fused back together into the House of Lead Paint!

The House of Lead Paint would be a balance between an individual personality, as well as being influenced by others. And they wouldn't be lonely anymore if they were together, plus once again being a home to someone! I could definitely see Hero and RGB living there, but instead of just outright controlling the House, they are able to ask the House for certain things, (or maybe the House could still read Hero's thoughts, but get to choose if its wants to change or not) and it will be more of a character.

This will obviously take the stress off Hero, since she won't have to be constantly thinking about the House just to stop it from abstracting or worrying about her dreams changing the house, and instead it could take care of itself at times, while still being helpful to our protagonists when they need something.

I think this may be happening sooner rather than later. Specifically because of RGB's "It may be as well for us to stay outside for a while" line, implying that something needs to change before Hero and RGB can go back into the Paint House.

This also seems like a stand in for a 'Tree' to this part of the story. "Big structure with emotional issues that needs to work through its issues in a symbolic way and transform into something else" Hero being the current owner of Paint House, having a track record of wanting to help out Trees, and needing a way to get out of Lead House, it seems perfectly in character for her to want to merge the Houses back together again. And now that the houses are in the same area to eachother (with the folded page being opened) I could 100% see this happening before the end of this arc. Probably as a conclusion to them getting out of the Lead House.

(anddd it could maybe be foreshadowing for RGB and Negative RGB merging back together???) (Fnaf sb ruin eclipse reference???) (tho, if that does happen, it would most likely be at the climax of TPOH)

I can't believe I'm getting so emotionally attached to the character arc of two HOUSES. But I just needed to get this rant out of my system.

So I'll probably talk about the dialogue relating to Negative another time, since this is already very long. Maybe I'll wait till the next update, since I'll undoubtedly have more things to rant on about then. But I hope you enjoyed this, even if it's a bit different from my usual RGB-centric theories.

ok so, this is just something I noticed and it might not be anything but also could be something about negative, in rgbs most recent nightmare his text box is all colorful and stuff, and then I was rereading and noticed that the 2 times so far he's been negative, when he was like turning back (I just woke up and I can't put my thoughts into words well) his text box was also colorful

I'm not gonna write an actual essay on this cause 1. I can't be bothered and 2. I suck at writing but I still want to post about it because I know that if I don't now I never will so here's:

Old stuff about the Pumpkin Timeline idea and how I think it relates to the CMYK colour model

What I'm getting at here is that since the A2 B1 and B2 timelines are associated with the RGB colour model and the beta kids then we can reverse it and do the same with the CMYK colour model and the alpha kids. Presuming that the Meat timeline = Magenta and Candy = Cyan (both coincidentally sound pretty similar too) there should be a third Yellow timeline we haven't seen yet, a Pumpkin Timeline (not even gonna consider the idea that it's any other food item I feel like it's insanely obvious that if there were another it'd be that). Following on with the aspects I've assigned the two timelines with based on the Candy and Meat epilogues themes + Dirk and Jane's importance in each it's obvious to me that the Yellow timeline would be one focused on Hope and subsequently, Jake.

My points in the image above also mention that I think it'll be (Candy) Jake directly creating a timeline using his hope powers (not Meat Jake because he hasn't shown any use of them productively at all and doesn't seem to be headed for anything narratively important in the story as of now) though I don't know exactly how that'd play out, I assume it'll either be through a merging of both timelines (not so sure of this one) or after / just before the destruction of both timelines via Alt Calliope's black hole. I'm heavily leaning towards the destruction of both = creation of another though, since the RGB model is about the reflection of light and the CMYK is about the absorption of it, and absorption is something the Candy timeline is currently threatened with thanks to the aforementioned black hole. I also assume it'll be after / before the timelines destruction because Jake's hope powers have been shown to work their best whenever he's desperate, and having everyone's lives threatened like that would make it the most likely time for him to intervene.

At first the whole idea of assigning the timelines to a colour model of all things felt kinda silly and baseless to me at first since there weren't any direct mentions of it in Homestuck that I could remember. I ended up rereading some parts and re-watched the Act 7 flash a while later though and noticed right when Alt Calliope created the black hole she summons 3 circles that then end up in the same positions as a colour model, with them switching colours between cyan, magenta, yellow and white. And I really don't think a recreation of the CMYK wheel was added just for the sake of making the creation sequence look a little cooler.

Besides that there's not much more to this 'theory'. It's mostly just me trying to prove that a third timeline is a definite using a colour model. I don't even know if this has been theorised before. If it has I'll stop posting out of embarrassment.

SPECIALSTUCK POSTING (Part 1, the kids)

Hi I like classpecting characters so....why not classpect the Pokespe characters ! I've only read RGB-BW and also SM/USUM so they'll be the only ones I'll be classpecting, tho I haven't reread in awhile so...my commentary may just be from what little I remember (specifically with SM because I've only ever read that once). Also I'm doing this like an sburb session, so one class/aspect per character (with the RGBY characters being the kids and everything beyond that being trolls)

Red:

Tbh at first I was thinking he was a stereotypical Knight, but rereading he does not have the stereotypical insecurities that are commonplace with the knight class...so my second choices were heir (protagonist class LMAO, but also I wanted one of each gender +derse/prospit pair to be active/passive and I know for a fact that Yellow isn't an active class so...no...) then the other one I thot of was Witch, which fits him well, being the active counterpart to heirs so being somewhat similar.

A lot of people theorize that witches almost "break" their aspect when they become it, but I don't really buy into that? I moreso think they have to become one with their aspect, learning about it before they can use it like a highly weaponized glove (just like how Jade is so infatuated with science and creation, she needs to become one with it before weilding it). I think this does fit Red a lot in some ways, he starts the story completely overconfident in his abilities, and has to learn to accept his aspect.

For aspect, I was originally thinking space because.....Poli........frog.....yeah...but also I think Green is like a stereotypical time player, and I wanted one of each gender and I think Yellow fits space a bit better anyway (I know most people say life player, but the meta side of Life doesn't fit Yellow whatsoever LMAO) so I'm going to go with blood for him. A witch of blood is someone who completely becomes one with blood, and I think that fits Red to a T. He wants to help Green and befriend him, he wants to talk to other people and get to know them, he's also very protective and leaderly (tho more like a breath player, he doesn't want to be a leader, but I do not see him as a breath player).

SO conclustion: Witch of Blood (Prospit)

As for prospit, I don't think I need to explain why Red/Yellow are the prospitians and Green/Blue are the Dersites LoL

Green (M):

The seer to end all seers, he's a know it all who always has a plan, thinks he knows better than everyone and always has a strategy tucked away, and he fits time just as well I would say. It's kind of hard to say, due to the lack of a LOT of times key themes in Pokespe, but (since this is Sburb typing) there needed to be a time player, and I think Green fits that best. He's shown to not really care about the ending of pokemon (shown when he straight up kills that Arbok LMAO) and also he's just. A time sensitive person, this is completely head canon but it makes sense to me LoL

Time as an aspect can mean a lot of different things, usually I say it means physical concepts (death, time itself) though I don't really know if that fits the best but. I literally cannot think of a better way to describe time tbh, mainly because of how little is talked about in Homestuck itself and how most of it has to do with how it works in game and not how it manifests in characters.

Conclusion: Seer of Time (Derse)

Blue (F):

She's a thief, I don't think I need to explain. And she's DEFINITELY a heart player, she's so good at messing with peoples emotions and love, often pretending to be in love with them to get what she wants. This is just...kind of a no brainer to me LMAO

Heart players can be about a lot of things, usually identity (others or their own) but in this case Blue is about both. She hates how she doesn't have an identity due to being stolen as a child by team rocket, she hides her identity out of fear but often steals others loves and uses their identity in place of her own (eg acting like a tough thief who can't be hurt but actually being incredibly vulnerable)

Conclusion: Thief of Heart (Derse)

Yellow (I'll be using she/they for Yellow in this post btw):

A lot of people consider her a life player, which I definitely see somewhat do to her powers, but for the most part she seems to fit space more imo. She's a creative type, she's always drawing and has an interest in biology (specifically Pokemon).

As I said before, I believe time is about physical things, while space is about the metaphysical, eg creation, theoretical sciences, etc. As before, I don't think this is exactly the BEST fit, but it works for the most part. This fits Yellow a lot I think, with most of her pokemong "battling" having to do with not actually physically HURTING the pokemon, but instead finding other ways to get them to stop the attack.

Also they're definitely a sylph since.....healer....I would say heir is a possibility, but sylph of space just makes more sense imo
