i like to think that jeremy and rich bonded post squip for a number of reasons and here's a list of the reasons:

1. jeremy having some level of survivor's guilt and feeling like at least some of the more extremes points were his fault. bc of this, he visits rich in the hospital a lot. They talk and properly establish "yeah text/call me if you want to talk"

2. they both struggle w talking abt the squip stuff to other ppl. Not bc it's all super hard to talk abt but bc most of their friends really don't understand what it was like

3. After they establish a "yeah/text call me if you want to talk," level, they start texting and calling each other at weird hours because of struggling to sleep and talking to each other can help. Jeremy probably calls Rich more at first.

4. talking at weird hours has them confiding more in each other than either expected. Especially while Jeremy is trying to rebond w Michael and while Rich is unsure his place among everyone else socially post squip, they likely find each other to be solid and trust worthy ppl and enjoy each other's company

I have more reasons than these 4 but those are more based off these further and this is enough for rn

Michael totally has a separate Instagram where he posts dance videos

Rich eats the cream from the oreo then hands the cookies to jake so he can eat them

Christine likes making homemade gifts for everyone

Jeremy and Chloe like to go hiking together

Jenna found a turtle outside and kept him and she named him ‘Funky’

Brooke goes to vocational school and does cosmetology so she can be a nail artist

Michael lets Brooke practice nail art on him

Rich got in trouble for showing up to school in an inflatable dinosaur costume on Halloween

-pre-squip rich was really into superheros

-has an extensive comic book collection (that was packed away when his squip was still active)

-he used to have figurines too but he sold them in order to get his squip

-his favorite is the flash and/or aquaman

-michael and him always get into debates because "rich.. what does aquaman even DO.."

-"YOU DID NOT JUST SAY THAT TO ME"

-speaking of michael...

-had a huge crush on him post-squip because he's so unapologetically himself and rich finds that really hot

-plus, they have a lot in common after rich's jock persona is dropped

-anyway,

-falls SUPER into the whole "self-care!"

-hangs out with jenna and jeremy on sundays for 'self-care sunday!'

-they all have group therapy that morning and then go to jenna's house for yoga, snacks and other body care stuff (facemasks, hairmasks, etc.)

-they WOULD go to the gym but .. rich has too many memories of working out there and seeing a guy who was hot only to get shocked for thinking that way

-he just can't do it (and his friends understand completely!)

-jenna helps him dye his hair back to its natural color (a light brown)

-there's a lot rich can't do anymore actually

-he can't go to house parties or anywhere where the music is super loud

-it just gives him the worst flashbacks and .. it's not a good time

-gets overstimulated easy but !! his friends always look out for him

-ALSO jeremy and rich have a long sit down conversation after rich is released to the hospital

-rich apologizes and confesses that while he wants to be himself, he barely knows who that is without his squip

-jeremy accepts his apology, asks for advice on how to start making things up to all the people HE'S hurt

-(this is something i wanna talk abt in a different post but i'll come back to jer i promise)

-basically they cry a lot, hug it out and decide to look out for each other from then on

-he applies to a local 24/7 convience store (it's a 7/11 let's b honest) and works after school most days until the late hours of the night

-does his homework at the desk when it's dead

-ok but... michael and jeremy always come in rlly early to bring rich breakfast

-"aw man.. you guys didn't have to"

-" 'Course we did dude you gotta eat. 'Sides, jer here couldn't sleep anyway"

-jeremy taking his dads car at 2am and visiting rich

-"another nightmare?"

-"yea.. figured I'd stop by, can't keep waking Michael up this late."

-jake comes in too, but always right after school

-their relationship is messy and I'll cover it in jake's own post

-he lives with his grandparents now, ones he didn't know he had

-his parents were sorta cast out from the family and they took jake with them

-she hasn't seen him since he was a little kid and lives about 20 minutes away from civilization on a farm

-but enough of that

-to sum it up, they decided to start all over again

-anyway, rich is saving up money to try and rent an apartment somewhere

-and if that means being dead tired throughout all of senior and junior year, so be it

-after moving out of his dads house rich moves into the dingiest little apartment during the summer between junior and senior year

-seriously, it sucks so bad but.. it's not his dad's house so he'll take it!

-unlike jeremy, rich didn't need the squip for school stuff and kinda dumbed his personality down because according to his squip "nobody likes a know-it-all richard"

-shocks everyone one day because chloe is doing her homework at lunch and, "fuck what the hell is the answer to twelve.. I swear we never went over this"

-and rich just looks over and is like "wouldn't it be x to the 3rd power minus c to the 4th?" and everyone goes dead silent

-michael drops his chopsticks into his sushi and mutters "aw fuck now there's wasabi on it.."

-everyone is all "rich has a ... brain??" and he's like "uhhh I mean I think!! who knows though I could be completely wrong"

-whoever he's dating is swooning bc "holy shit my boyfriend is so hot and smart??"

-also!! totally wants to major in social work

-foster dad rich with a huge house for all the kids he takes in

-i'm just saying

-also gets a service animal for his ptsd and depression!

-it's a chocolate lab and rich loves him to death

-you can name him smth else obv but for me his name is charlie and he is the goodest boy

-goes everywhere (except work) with him

-for awhile jer and his dad/michael and his moms buy the dogs food bc they understand that this is beneficial to rich's health and, "are you sure he's okay? poor kid all on his own let me know if he needs anything"

-michael's moms mostly just want to beat up rich's dad and 'WHY DIDNT YOU TELL US SOONER.'

-everyone's families l o v e rich bc he's really polite with adults and it's kind of scary for his friends to witness??

-totally the kid to call someone's mom like "mrs. that persons mom" like "oh thank you uh... mrs. one of michael's moms"

-doesn't feel comfortable calling any of them by their first names but that's okay

-moving on to mental health stuff!

-he goes to group weekly and sees a personal therapist (thank you to his school counselor for helping him with everything tbh)

-helped him fill out health insurance for himself and found a non profit organization for domestic abuse victims

-so .. he's doing better!

-hates loud noises (even though he's loud himself) and gets really weird if someone starts yelling at him

-he can take playful yelling but as soon as that tone gets angry he shuts down

-has developed a lot of new hobbies over the year

-joins christine in whatever she's hyperfixating on that month

-one month it was spoken poetry and they both tried their hand with it and weren't super good. Christine got too excited halfway through and lost the tone she was going for and rich, well, he wasn't that bad but didn't think it was for him

-"these people all take it so seriously.. gross"

-another month was painting and THAT was fun

-rich really likes splattering the paint onto his canvas versus actually trying a landscape. christine found that she prefers doing that too ("what are you two doing..." -jeremy "we're letting go of all our bad thoughts!" -christine "Hell yea!!" -rich, before letting out a power yell and throwing some red on his canvas)

Be more chill Headcanons

-Rich keeps aloe and burn cream in his backpack, the cream smells like a dry cheap bar of soap and he hates it.

-Michael carries three fidget cubes around somewhere on his person at all times

-jeremy paints his nails

-christine paints Jeremy’s nails cuz she hates wearing it herself but likes doing it

-if rich paints his nails it’s /always/ yellow. Always.

-Eventually Michael puts a patch on his shoe, a little bag of popcorn on his red hightops.

-Jeremy Heere strictly wears espadrilles and converse.

-Brooke and Chloe make it their mission in life to open a daycare

-Jenna is still a closet 2012 directioner. She has.. So much merch..

-Jeremy has a seizure alert dog, a saluki golden retriever mix. The squip left.. Damage.

-Her name is Billy <3

-His seizures are usually unnoticeable to the untrained eye, but sometimes he has tonic clonics and he really hates those.

-Jeremy and rich develop ptsd and had real trouble taking their prescriptions at first to help it

-Jeremy cant use a pill counter, they have to be /in the bottle/ or he gets upset

-Jeremy is autistic and has mad echolalia and tourrettes, it’s the worst when he’s sleepy

-Jeremy stims, like, a lot. He carries tangles and little cell phone charms to help so he doesn't do the flappy hands in public (but it still happens anyway) he gets embarrased a lot about it and if he catches someone staring he cries on bad days.

-So one time  he tries not to do it and it builds up and he gets frustrated and cringey and emotional and needs lots of hugs from michael

-Michael tells him how much he loves his little quirks and stims and fidgets.

-When Michael finally gets top surgery he’s just in bed for days crying until Jake scores him some valium. This is the first and only secret they keep from their boyfriends.

-When Michael finally comes off it after he’s healed he realizes he’s addicted af.

-he tries to deal with it alone but eventually Jeremy wheedles it out of him. He expects him to be mad but he’s just like, mad supportive and comforting and gets Michael into Group.

so we’ll start with the corn maze

so you, Jeremy, Michael, Christine, Jake, Rich, and Brooke do the corn maze

Chole didn’t want to because she didn’t want to get lost

and Jenna did whatever Chloe did so she stayed back too

so anyway

there were two mazes

the regular corn maze and the haunted corn maze

Christine didn’t want to do the haunted corn maze because she had a play the next weekend and didn’t want to scream and loose her voice

therefore you, Jeremy, Michael, Brooke, and Christine went in the normal corn maze

Jake and Rich went in the haunted corn maze

anyways

we all know Michael is a tall boy

so you were all banking on him helping you guys get out if you got lost

but the stalks were like twice his height

so that plan went out the window

so y’all were left with gut feelings and trying to memorize stalks of corn

at one point, you heard a scream come from the haunted corn maze all the way on the other side of the pumpkin patch and Michael just D I E S from laughter

and you’re all like “wot?”

but then you realize

that scream

that was Jake

and now you’re all dying of laughter

but then you come to reality

and realize you’re still lost in the middle of the corn maze

new plan

break into two teams

you go right with Jeremy and Christine, Brooke, and Michael go left

but that was a stupid plan

because you’re still lost

and now there’s less of you

okay so Jeremy came up with a plan where he’d hoist you up on his shoulders and you’d try to see if you could find a way out

“Jer you have stick arms. they’d snap if you tried to lift a gallon of milk”

Jeremy is hurt but completely understands

so you two keep walking around but then you come up with an idea

“what if we do like Hansel and Gretel and put a path of rocks behind everywhere we go?”

so you two gather up rocks and start leaving a path

but then you find your rocks and realize you’ve been going around in a circle

you both eventually just say “fuck it” and walk straight through the corn, not even bothering with following the path

Jake and Rich are still a bit weary as you near the part of the patch next to the haunted maze

but y’all gotta pick some pumpkins

so they’re just gonna have to deal with it

Michael picks out one that looks like a square because its so cool and why wouldn’t he want it

Jeremy gets one of those tall and skinny ones

so of course they pick out the largest and heaviest one

it took both of them, you, Michael, and Jeremy to take it to the car

Christine got the second largest pumpkin

Chloe and Jenna would get the tiny ones so they don’t have to clean up as big of a mess

Brooke would probably get your average pumpkin cause she’d want really nice aesthetically pleasing photos for her Instagram.

overall it was a fun and happy day
