uni assignments are killing me rn but i wanted to do a little something for mother's day💙🤍❤️💛(omg i forgot laserbeak...i'll draw him and the baby another time trust)

last year mother's day was quite the magical time. there were gorgeous aurora borealis and australis everywhere [i couldn't see them where i live (TT^TT)], and i also got my first guitar at a market. last year was pretty rough for me, especially march—may, but those two things made me happy.

i miss drawing my little babywave guy!!! i don't think i've ever mentioned my babywave's name on here, but his name is echo :] (short for echowave - i couldn't help but add a wave hehe)

the photos in the second post are inspired by photos of me and my siblings :] there was a drawing function on our digital camera where you could draw on top of photos. someone drew angel wings on me once. i really need to get my old cameras working again...perhaps after assignments

mindless doodling while my laptop charges. i find great joy in doodling, drawing whatever comes to mind. sorry if anything’s off or incorrect, i wasn’t using any references while drawing. babywave has taken up 3 pages in my sketchbook, haha.

sometimes things don’t exist, so you have to will them into existence yourself. in this case, transformers and drag race. clip i made last night, but i intend to one day do most of the fight, especially the monologue at the end.

i hate drawing tf /pos /hj😭😭most i can draw is g1 and animated so this was a doozy. but i do love their prime designs a lot. and btw i do think knockout is glamour i just wanted him to fight with starscream.

i really like wavewave…so i made a wavewave kid. i’m still thinking of a name for him…i can’t choose…

this is a self indulgent doodling session i did just now, after planning and sketching on paper. i know it’s very messy, haha. i was going to colour in and render, but my brain is fried atm.

he is based off a dj turntable, and he likes earth music, like fireflies by owl city or caramelldansen. his little ear fin things flutter when he’s happy, or flare out like a frilled-neck lizard when he’s scared or angry. he can change his buttons and displays to any colour he wants, but he likes being rainbow.

on the bottom left are some visor ideas i’ll explore some other time, along with the cd butterfly. i have plans to make more cd animals so he has more friends :]

[WIP] Starscream with Charcoal, 2025

I was doing charcoal life drawing exercises tonight. I also did some last week in class with a model too. I find that I really enjoy charcoal drawing, playing with tone, contrast and shadow—some of my favourite elements. After I finished up my exercises, I decided to unwind and do something before getting ready for bed. I started this, and also a charcoal drawing of D-16.

Not too much meaning behind this work other than “I wanted to draw starscream�� lolz. But I did look at biblical and historical paintings for a while before drawing him.

The charcoal I used is from a pack I’ve had for many years, but only used once as I was too afraid. Hoping to use them more because they are quite fun.

My favourite shots in Transformers One. I have a lot more screencaps, but unfortunately tumblr has a 30 image limit.

While rewatching the movie, one thing I noticed was that it has fantastic use of lighting. The beginning of the movie is almost shrouded in darkness, and throughout the movie they use high contrast and shadow, softened only by natural sunlight, which comes down in gorgeous rays.

This use of lighting made the shots look as if they were paintings, with standouts being:

• Sentinel kneeling to the Quintessons (the cloudy sky really resembles a historical painting to me)

• Orion Pax speaking to the miners (the crowd and light on Pax as if he is a mythical being)

• Sentinel pointing his gun at D-16 under his feet (dynamic violence and conflict)

• D-16 ripping Sentinel in half (brutality and violent rage)

Some shots also reminded me of chiaroscuro, which is one of my favourite artistic techniques, as Caravaggio is one of my favourite artists.

I also noticed that the colours of the movie are more warm-toned, which I find a fascinating choice for a metallic alien world.

I would love to further study the style, composition, design and colours of this movie, which is why I hope they release an artbook someday. And hopefully, Primus willing, a sequel. This movie brought me joy in a very tumultuous year, and for that I appreciate and adore it.
