synopsis: you set your bff Riki up with Eunchae, one of your friends, on a date.. but what happens when you realise that you might have caught feelings for him along the way. So who will he choose, you or Eunchae?

PART ONE

Nishimura Riki has been your best friend since kindergarten and you don’t remember the last time you went out without him. It was safe to say that you did everything together. You’ve been through crushes, breakups, and all of that stuff together. You were in college now.

And, here you are texting him whether he would like to go on a date with your friend Eunchae. And he said yes. That answer was one you did not expect at all. ‘Okay, sure’ you type into your chat. You already asked Eunchae and she said yes as well. You told them a bit about each other since they'd never met before, just to have a few convo starters and prevent very awkward silences…

It was now the day of their date and you took it upon yourself to find Riki the perfect outfit and damn, did it look good. You chose a black shirt with his favourite anime’s print on it and some baggy blue jeans. It looked perfect. While you sent him off, you actually felt like a proud mom who was watching her son graduate…

You were super happy about this and god, did you hope this went well. He always told you how it always seemed like he pushed girls away when actually he was just trying to get to know them before a relationship. So this was a chance for him to redeem himself and finally get a girl… you couldn’t wait till they got together and you could tell everyone about you playing their Cupid.

Now you just needed to wait until he got back in a few hours.. a few hours without him wouldn’t be that hard, would it?

You got off your bed and made your way to the couch to watch tv but you just couldn’t without him there to watch with you. So you resorted to scrolling through social media with a cup of instant ramen next to you. A FEW HRS LATER

You hear the keys to your apartment jangling and watch as Riki walks in with a big smile on his face

“Phew,” you think “it must have gone well if he’s smiling so much”.

“y/nnie, the date went so well, we talked a lot, shared a bowl of ice cream and we walked around the place for a bit! I hope we could do that again…” he says, happily. “That’s great riks, did you get her number too??”, you ask, excitedly. “Yeah, I did and oh my god she’s so pretty! Like I know you told me she was pretty but she was just more beautiful than I thought!!!!”

“Okay that’s really great ki! And also, wanna watch that new kdrama with me? I’ve been wanting to watch it for a while…” you say with a soft tone towards the end.

“Okay sure Y/nnie! Even I've been wanting to watch that one”

You make some popcorn and sit down next to each other on the couch, your head on his shoulder and your fingers intertwined(in a friendly way of course….)

Physical affection wasn’t something rare in your friendship and that’s why a lot of people thought you two were dating. Well, all you had to say about today was it was a great day! Riki’s date went great, and you were watching a new kdrama with him too! What more could you ask for?

Converse High – P.SH [박성훈] {CH. 9}

Synopsis: Shin Y/N was given the task to deliver her best friend's love letter to the shoe locker of Park Sunghan, the president of the broadcasting club. It just so happened to be that Park Sunghan's shoe box is situated right next to the shoe box of Park Sunghoon, a boy whose name had a one-syllable difference.

FRIDAY, 11:58 p.m. — 24-Hour Convenience Store

Another successful mission to the convenience store. This time, Y/N wasn't caught by her mother and was able to safely climb out of her window without any scratches.

She swung her plastic bag full of snacks back and forth while dawdling towards the outdoor seating area of the convenience store. She was munching on a roll of kimbap when she stopped in her tracks once she spotted an unexpected figure outside drinking a bottled yogurt drink. He looked up at her and froze, his arm slightly raised with his bottle tilted upwards.

Becoming aware of the situation, the boy decided to speedily gulp the remainder of his bottle's contents and stand up to greet the girl who remained planted in front of the store's glass doors.

"Shin Y/N," Sunghoon made his way towards the girl and dumped his bottle into the recycling bin on the way. "Didn't expect to run into you here."

"Park Sunghoon," she copied his greeting. "I could say the same to you. I've never seen you around this area." Sunghoon nodded his head towards a vague direction.

"I'm sleeping over at a friend's house in that building. What about you? Do you live in this area?" The girl nodded in response and began to slowly walk down the sidewalk with Sunghoon walking next to her. She nodded her head down the street.

"I live a few blocks down there. I'm only a couple of minutes away from the convenience store." Sunghoon let out an "ah" of understanding and continued to walk beside her. He didn't know specifically why he decided to continue walking down the street when his friend's apartment was in the opposite direction, but he didn't want to part ways just yet. The only noise that could be heard were the crinkling plastic bags Y/N held; other than that, it was completely silent.

Wanting to ease the awkwardness she knew both of them felt, Y/N looked up at Sunghoon and asked, "Wanna take a detour?" Thankfully, Sunghoon nodded.

Y/N split a twin popsicle bar in half and gave a stick to Sunghoon who occupied the swing next to hers. She bit the top of her popsicle off and swung her legs to get the swing swaying. She could tell the boy was still feeling awkward since he devoted his entire focus on eating the popsicle and didn't dare to look at her.

"Sunghoon," she started. The boy stopped chomping on the ice pop. She wanted to apologize again for causing him unnecessary trouble, but she hesitated and only continued speaking until Sunghoon's small noise of confusion urged her to talk. "You might get a brain freeze if you eat it that fast."

"Oh, you're right...." Y/N sighed at nothing in particular— well, maybe at herself.

"Actually, I wanted to apologize to you again but properly this time. Y'know, for causing you trouble that could've been avoided so easily if I read the locker tags more carefully that I did. Sunoo told me about how many love letters you get on a daily basis, so this mishap was probably a burden to you, haha. Sorry about that" She found her voice becoming smaller and smaller. Y/N kept her eyes pointed at her swinging feet rather than looking up at the boy next to her. She fell silent and felt her head drop. In a muffled voice that was barely audible, Y/N mumbled, "I can barely do anything right. That's why everyone's always disappointed in me."

"Hey, hey! No, it's okay!" Sunghoon frantically waved his hands and shook his head. He stood up to stand in front of her as she sat dejectedly on the swing. "It was a mistake. You don't have to be so strict on yourself." Sunghoon didn't know how to comfort her. On the outside, he was perfectly calm, but on the inside, he was freaking out; where should he stand? What should he say? Should he pat her on the back? Maybe get her some more ice cream?

Y/N sighed once more, "Sorry, I'm acting pathetic again." She rubbed her cheeks and gave them a light slap before standing up. Due to Sunghoon's current position, there was only a centimeter of space between their bodies once she was on her feet. "Next time we hang out, I promise you'll get to see my cooler, less depressing side. I swear I'm not always like this! I'll show you how awesome and 'James-Bond' I can be." she let out a breathy laugh.

Sunghoon stared at the girl; the neck of her jacket slightly covered her mouth, but her eyes crinkled and turned into moons whenever she smiled. He believed that it could rival the real moon that illuminated their precious time together.

Sunghoon felt like his heart was going to explode just from staring at her. He wondered what would happen to him if he were to hug her. He was broken out of thought when he felt a light jab on his shoulder.

"We should get going. Your friend is probably wondering where you wandered off to." Y/N began walking off of the park's ground. She stopped when a hand lightly wrapped itself around her arm.

"You don't have to turn around." Actually, it would be best if you don't or else I won't be able to say what I want to say, Sunghoon thought. He took a breath before continuing.

"I'm glad that you delivered the envelope to the wrong locker. Otherwise, I wouldn't have met you." He wanted to cringe at himself but decided to keep going.

"If it hadn't been for all of this, I never would have even crossed paths with you." His hand loosely fell to rest at her wrist. "So don't believe that you can't do anything right because your mistake brought you to me," and I think that's something that was destined to happen—was what he would've said if he wasn't so nervous.

Once he heard nothing back, Sunghoon retreated his hand, but in that same moment, Y/N turned around with slightly tearful eyes.

"Can I hug you?" Sunghoon, caught off guard, widened his eyes.

"Huh? Oh, uhm, yeah! Yeah, of course!" Before he could even open his arms, Y/N wrapped herself around him. He froze, can't believing that this was happening. It took a few seconds for him to let the situation settle in; he felt himself relax and wrapped his own arms around her, soothingly rubbing her back with the hand that was around her arm not too long ago.

Sunghoon's thoughts trailed back to his conversation with his friends about asking the girl out. He shook his head and decided not to do it just yet. For now, he wanted to savor this intimate moment between them.
