I remember sitting in psychology class learning about Pavlov, thinking "Those stupid dogs."
Then the bell rang, and we all had lunch.

He is both eager and not eager to see that kitchen.
Oh goodness, ‘important’? Well, for maintenance, yes, very important, obviously. But… well, it was hard to not feel a little touched being called important so generally.

No living man can survive living a life like your’s, Pharaoh. At least ask for more vacations this scenario.
[what's a vacation]
That...did not cross my mind, actually.
It would be nice to have more vacations and see everyone more often, да.

Pavlov probably spent the rest of his life thinking about feeding his dogs every time he heard a bell. Conditioning goes both ways.

Don’t joke about assassinations around me.
Let us not pretend the justice system is above assassination. The death penalty is still very real, dear brother.

Brother, you're just the man I want to speak to. Do you mind if I take your time to chat?
Of course not. Things have been quiet around here, I'd welcome the change of pace.

>Also, if you’re really interested I could show you stills from my memory files. I was...kind of there for that.

ringsabell replied to your post:do people ever mistreat you or not take you seriously because of the theme of your design?
No, it’s not broken. There’s nothing all that funny about archaeology. Now if you want funny stories, there’s no end with police reports and investigations gone wrong.
You will have to share some of those stories when you return home, brother! Your job is much more exciting in that respect. [Though maybe exciting isn't the right word.] I am afraid most of my funny anecdotes are from traveling rather than from my actual job.

I recently heard about this young adult novel in which Schrödinger's cat and Pavlov's dog team up for a cross country adventure... So I headed down to the library to see if they had a copy for my friends daughter. The librarian said that my description rang a bell but she wasn't sure if it was there or not.

Моя дорогая сестра, how have you been? I sent my last paycheck your way so I hope it's served well. What are you doing for Christmas? The RPF (reluctantly) gave me the week off for all my hard work.
"Ah, I see it in the account. Thank you for your hard work, you know we couldn't keep going without you. Check your mailbox when you get home, I sent you a Christmas gift in case we're not able to meet up. These American robots are funny, they really love this holiday. Let's make time to get together before the new year, okay?"
Waiting at the front desk of Ring's apartment is a box with no return address, but clearly meant for him.  Inside are a half dozen softball sized little gyroscope-looking items, composed of many rings. Upon being touched, they activate and hover gently, attempting to connect up to him as independent video feed inputs. Basically, little floating eyes to watch his back, able to be commanded like any lesser robot. Kalinka had... stepped up her game, to say the least, considering the garbage she usually built. They were even polished and matched his colour scheme.
The note in the box merely says,
"It's about time a certain someone got an upgrade, hm? Or at least a good spit-shine. Let's meet up so I can take care of YOU for once, okay? These little guys should help you in the meanwhile, they can go about 60 feet in any direction from you before losing connection, and charge independently of you so they don't use your energy up. Take care, brother."
