It was pitiful really, the way you cling onto every word he spat at you, jumped at every opportunity to see him even if he spent the whole time hardly acknowledging you. He did acknowledge you when others tried to chat you up, you were stuck in a loop. You were almost giddy now, when you went to parties with him and someone got a little too handsy, you enjoyed the glint in his usually bored eyes, you must mean something to him right? That glint and the fact that he kept you around was enough for you to keep hoping.

So maybe you got a little overzealous tonight agreeing to this particular party; well, party is a generous term, it was just Suna’s group with a few plus ones hanging out in one of their basements.

You did have a bit of an alternative motive, which was pretty pitiful. But what else can you do? You just couldn’t kick your Suna addiction and he really didn’t seem to look twice at you until you had another guy trying to get in your pants.

So you had no choice but to flirt up a storm with one of his friends right?

The basement was half lit and smelled like old smoke and years of built up must. It didn’t seem familiar, or maybe you had been here and couldn’t remember the night, nevertheless you made your way further into the basement. There were a few small groups, some with faces you’ve seen before and some not. It wasn’t hard to find the half hooded eyes you were looking for.

He looked in your direction for a split second, nodding ever so slightly at your presence before bringing his attention back to lighting the small pipe in his hands.

How he always managed to make your heart race and stomach ache in anticipation with only a half assed nod, you would never understand. Your normally quick witted demeanour felt worlds away when you were near Suna. You headed to the kitchen, desperately needing a drink.

As you neared the kitchen, which was only a deep freeze, mini fridge and a few cabinets overhanging the mismatched countertops that were heavily cluttered with empty and full bottles and cans of alcohol alike. There were only two other people in the room, you recognized them to be the ‘infamous’ Miya twins.

They were in a heated discussion about...something. You really couldn’t hear anything to provide any proper context, which admittedly was probably for the best. The blonde-Atsumu right?- was more upset looking than his counterpart but they were equally loud.

Before you knew it there was an empty can being launched across the room, narrowly missing your head as you duck down.

“Oi! Next time look where you’re throwing!” You mumble an ‘asshole’ as you reach for the closest bottle of booze with the intention of mixing a drink.

Atsumu was quick to forget his argument and sauntered over to you, standing on the over side of the island countertop.

“Aw ’m sorry doll, how about I make ya a drink to make up for it?” He sported a lopsided smirk as he rested his head on his palm, leaning closer to you in the process.

You smirked back “depends on the drink I guess”

“How about I make it and you tell me how much of an amazing bartender I make?”

A ‘tch’ could be heard beside you, you jumped for a second not realizing the gray haired brother had made his way beside you.

“Shut it ‘Samu!” The blonde roared as he started pouring the drink.

“Didn’t even say anything ya idiot” his voice was low and rich. He side eyed you for a moment, you could practically feel his gaze rack up your body.

A cup sliding towards you snapped your attention away from Osamu.

Rum and coke, you conclude as the drink hits your taste buds, a very strong one at that. You thank Atsumu for the cup and try to bid the twins farewell.

“Ah come on don’t run away just yet, pretty lady” the quieter brother mused, grabbing your hand and pulling you closer. His body heat radiated towards you as he rests his hand on your waist.

“I have to go back to my...friend though” the hesitation made Osamu raise an eyebrow. ‘...friend’ as the only title you could come up with though, you only rolled your eyes as an answer.

“y/n.”

Speak of the devil. You spin around at the familiar monotone voice. Suna looked less than pleased, and definitely not sober, eyes burning a hole on the hand resting on your waist. You wiggled away from the younger twin and took ahold of Suna’s lazily outstretched hand.

“Till next time pretty boys! And thanks for the drink.” You wave them off as the raven haired male pulled you back to the grimy couch he was seated at earlier. You didn’t miss the eye roll he gave at your nickname for the twins. He slumped down on the couch and pulled you onto his lap, his hands on your thighs and hip. He loved being able to hold and claim you in front of everyone, he was rarely this clingy when it was just the two of you.

You chatted a bit with his friends who were also plopped down near the couch, it was hard to focus as you finished off your drink, you mental cursed yourself for not eating most of the day and letting the liquor go straight to your head. Your face felt warm and your thoughts felt more distant. All you think about were Suna’s hands that crept higher on your thigh and the one that made its way under the hoodie you had stolen from him a week back.

“Let’s get outta here.” He muttered out.

You turn back to look at him and say “I just got here Suna.” You protested lightly.

“I think you’ve socialized enough, we’re going.”

He pushed you off and you fumbled the landing a little, feeling the buzz hit your head harder than before now that you’ve stood up. He gripped the fabric of your sleeve and led the way.

It was dark out now, maybe you were there longer than you thought… Suna was still harshly tugging you towards his piece of shit car, you often told him that he’d end up on the side of the road one of these days and he just replied that if you didn’t like it you could walk.

“Think you’re cute huh? Chatting up the dumbass twins, stealing my clothes too” he pushed you against the side of the car, trapping you in between his arms. He had his same bored expression as his hand slipped back under the hoodie and pawed at your chest.

“Mm just trying to get your attention” you slur out with a low moan at the feeling of his hands on your skin.

“That desperate for some dick? Pathetic.” You lazily nod, too embarrassed for words but more than happy that you succeed in getting his attention. He lifted your legs, making you wrap them around his hips. Slowly he grinds against you, desperate you pulled him into a sloppy kiss. A breathy groan left your lips feeling him grow harder against you. Suna was never one for much foreplay however, he was quick to lower your bottoms and shift your panties out of the way.

“Wait Rin someone could see” you realized quickly as he shifted to get his erection free. He gave no warning as he slowly bottomed out in you. He laughed quietly “what don’t want anyone to see you so disparate for a scubbag like me to fuck you? I could call your pretty boys out. I’m sure they’d love to see you like this, practically crying because you can’t handle a little bit of cockwarming.”.

He was right, you were a mess. You tried to move your hips needing friction, his body was unmoving though. “Rin please” you whine out “just make it quick…” you bury your face in his neck, at least if someone came out they wouldn’t be able to see your face.

“As you wish” he muttered before finally moving his hips, his thrusts were fast and unrelentingly. You hung off of him trying your best not to moan, he just fit inside of you so well and his consistent rhythm was more than enough to start the coil building in your core.

He hissed when you clenched around his cock. He pulled your head away from him, hand holding your hair tightly. He couldn’t get enough of your fucked out face, spurting out strings of uneven moans.

You tried to match his pace but gave in as his thrust became more unpredictable and rough, you whimpered realizing he was close. Reaching down to rub your clit you huffed as his hand left your hair to grab your hand and pin it against the car.

Sakura (Shinohara) is a single 39-year-old women who works at a hair salon. She isn’t interested in making herself feminine and is seen as a woman who acts like an “old man.” She one day meets BMX rider Hiroto (Miura) who is much younger than her and they develop a relationship. To complete this love triangle, Sakura’s manager at the hair salon, Rintaro (Fujiki), starts to develop feelings for her as well.

This drama just hit right in the feels. It’s super cute and my poor heart went ‘kyun-kyun’ many times throughout XD Sakura is a very likable main character. She’s older but she’s still so pure. The fact that Hiroto wasn’t a great guy at first but changed because of Sakura, made him all the better and a perfect match. Although, I did like Rintaro for Sakura, too. This is the problem with J-drama love triangles…I always end up liking both options and don’t want to see the other one get hurt.

Sakura’s friends, Shima (Hasegawa) and Miki (Otsuka) are great supporting characters who have their own drama as well. Miki’s husband almost cheats on Miki with Shima but learns to appreciate his wife with Shima’s help. Chiyoko (Nanao) makes a good antagonist, but you can’t really see her as a villain since she just wants to be loved by Rintaro (she is the one who encourages Hiroto to pursue Sakura).

With a fun cast of characters, multiple story lines and a classic love triangle, “Last Cinderella” is the epitome of a J-drama rom-com and I loved every second of it.

Favorites: Favorite Character: Gotta go with my main girl, Sakura! A very relatable and likeable protagonist which is hard to find these days in a J-drama rom-com! Favorite Episode: Ahh…I can’t think of one! They were all good!>< Favorite Scene: Hiroto picking up and carrying Sakura at the BMX competition, Sakura’s meeting with Rintaro’s mom, Hiroto opening up to Sakura about how he hurt Chiyoko…there are way too many to count!!

(^^ And Sakura and Rintaro bonding at the batting cages…I love their friendship!)

“Last Cinderella” Rating: Story: ✭✭✭✭½ A newer rom-com classic…even though it is seven years old^^;; Acting: ✭✭✭✭½ Amazing cast! The three main actors were perfect. Theme Song: ✭✭✭✭ So catchy!! Total: 13/15

The Green Swordsman

Z: the Kaiju of the week here, Horoboros, was previously in R/B as one of the more powerful Kaiju in the villain's arsenal. This is our first time seeing one in the wild, as that one was a R/B Crystal. Celebro has hit something of a snag in his plans I feel. He was forced to give up the Belial medal and had the Five King medals taken, leaving him with Red King, Jirass and Eleking, which he can't do anything with. Here he uses leftovers from Gilvalis to create a new medal. He does not look stable right now. Horoboros is an old legend here, and Yuka is long obsessed with it. She goes a bit mad with her study of nothing in particular, and Horoboros emerges in it's standing state. Yuka is genuinely hurt by her attempt at calming it failing. Yuka succeeds after her epiphany, up until Celebro shows up, and throws the Gilvalis and Galactron Mk II medals he's made into Horoboros, powering it up and making it lose control. Celebro is really angry about losing that Belial medal. Metsuboros rampages. The battle is won only to be immediately followed by the arrival of another Barossa Seijin, out for revenge.

Saber: Touma is introduced to the last member of Sword of Logos we need to know about for the time being, Akamichi Ren. Before much can happen though Sophie has sent Kento to help with Zooous and Daishinji has taken Ren's sword away for maintenance, leaving Touma to need to research. The Megiddo leaders sent Desast to meet Zooous so they can discuss Avalon. Touma and Ren are not getting along, disagreeing about how to do things, and exasperating Daishinji, they make a contest over Kobuta 3 Kyoudai. Touma gets a cheap hit when Ren is distracted by Kento. Touma arrives to find Espada facing another Piranha, as Desast appears Touma uses his new book with Dragon and Eagle, but in the end his power is sealed by Storious, allowing Desast to steal back Storm Eagle. Touma is cognizant enough if what's important to ask Ren to focus on helping Kento, returning Kobuta 3 Kyoudai, but it seems they're all working towards working together, even if Touma needs to find Avalon. Rintaro and Mei find Zooous, apparently having been tracking him all this time. As they fight Zooous casually mentions his killing of the previous Blades. Ren and Kento find the Megiddo, Ren using Sarutobi Ninjaden to transform into Kenzan, Espada joins using Lamp and Hedgehog. Touma finds a forbidden book and begins drawing clues from it. Kenzan winds up facing Desast, making a strong showing while Espada defeats the Megiddo. Touma realises the detail about the 13 stories also links to the way the two dragon books reacted. It's too bad this is all Storious and Caliber's trap. Kenzan defeats Desast, reclaiming Storm Eagle. Storious gives Caliber a book seemingly unsealed thanks to Touma using the forbidden book, and Zooous manages to defeat Rintaro and lead him to despair. Touma now has a way to Avalon thanks to Daishinji's help, while Rintaro returns only to take Tenkuu no Pegasus, swearing to defeat Desast.

Kiramager: Going into this one is kind of weird to me. While I know who Natsume and Miki are I haven't watched Gekiranger, and even what I did was nearly a decade ago, and I'm much more familiar with Kuwae Sakina for her other major role as Ryume. Certain aspects of this episode are certainly goofy, but it was fun, Miki got to show her talents for a moment. Wonder of they'll consider more like this, the only other time it's happened was that episode of Gokaiger where Professor Amachi and Yamazaki Yuka cameod. It gives a nice showing for them Miki and Natsume without them dominating the episode.

My copy of Cutie Honey Tears finally came in the mail, and I just got done watching it. As the trailers strongly suggest, it’s a very different take on Cutie Honey. If you’re looking for crazy fight scenes, wacky monsters, boobs, or any typical Honey perverted-ness, you’re watching the wrong movie. 

(And no, Honey does not shoot pool in the movie)

Spoilers Below

I do appreciate the more serious take on Honey, and I’m happy we’ve seem to have broken away from the “Sailor Moon clone” that was presented in the early 2000′s versions. Honey’s different here, but not in the same way she’s different in Re: Cutie Honey or the Live TV series. Like in all versions, Honey cares a lot about the people around here, and will do anything to protect them. She isn’t given a lot of chances in this film to be her fun and mischievous self.

The only returning characters from the original story are Honey (of course), Seiji, Dr. Kisaragi, and arguably Sister Jill. “Arguably”, because Jill is drastically different here. Despite what you may see on the internet, her name is simply “Jill”. Obviously, she’s based off “Sister Jill”, but very loosely so. As in Re: Cutie Honey, Jill was another A.I. created by Dr. Kisaragi. She acts as Honey’s nemesis, but the parallels end there. Panther Claw doesn’t exist in this story. 

Also, Honey’s name isn’t even “Honey” here. It’s Kisaragi Hitomi. She’s referred to as “Cutie Honey” once, by Jill. Hitomi was originally Dr. Kisaragi’s daughter who died at a young age when she was hit by a car. Her memory was implanted in the android “Cutie Honey”. She doesn’t have any of her weapons from the previous versions, and she doesn’t even yell “Honey Flash” to transform. If that wasn’t disappointing enough, the original Cutie Honey theme plays in a 15 second scene.

There are a few minor throwbacks to earlier versions of Honey. I feel like they mostly drew inspiration from the 1994 New Cutey Honey OVA. The climax of the film re-enacts the scene where Honey’s father speaks to her from beyond the grave in the form of an android from the original anime and manga (in the movie it’s as a hologram). 

The actors are all great. I think Mariya does a great job with Honey, certainly much better than Eriko Sato. She’s very pretty, and it was neat seeing her in various costumes (though I wish there had been more). She was really great with emotional scenes, which was something both Eriko Sato and Mikie Hara were terrible at.

Takahiro Miura really sells Seiji as this compassionate, but still really clumsy hero. He reminds me of a less irrational Flash Seiji. He’s also really cute, which I appreciated, haha. Though, Shouma Yamamoto is still my favorite live action Seiji. Nicole Ishida plays Jill as cold, and inhumane as you could imagine. Also, kudos to the casting director for finding a guy who is the spitting image of Dr. Kisaragi in the original anime.

The movie also features Eric Jacobsen, one of the many random American-born celebrities that’s made a name for himself in Japan. His appearance in the film is a little... uh, strange? I really hope when I’m older I can land a gig in a Cutie Honey production. Oh, and of course Go Nagai has a cameo. Not as hilarious as his cameo in the 2004 movie, but still fun.

Unlike the 2004 film, “Tears” seems to have a huge Hollywood budget. The special effects are amazing. The city (which I remember reading is nearly all CGI) looks remarkable.

There are only a couple of funny scenes in the film. My favorite was when Hitomi is avoiding Jill’s minions at a party. She transforms into a man and kisses a random woman. She looks to the screen, smiles, and walks away, with the woman is kind of left looking like “what??”. I laughed out loud. 

I guess the movie isn’t that bad. It’s just very un-Cutie Honey.

There is one thing that drove me insane; and that’s the ending. They flat out ripped off the climax to Rintaro’s Metropolis. So you can probably piece together how this film ends. The closing shot in both Tears and Metropolis is also identical. My jaw was on the ground. Did they really think nobody would notice? 

I believe I mentioned this in another post, but Cutie Honey Tears is one of the titles effected by the avex contraband. Miraculously I was able to pre-order it off Yesasia without any problems. The BD comes with a bonus disc that has a making of featurette, and nothing else. Apparently CDJapan was giving out free posters, but they won’t import to the US. Tears is set to have a German release soon, so hopefully a US one will follow.

It had been just another day, sunlight streaming in through the classroom window as Sano only half listened to the rowdy youkai around him. Mame's comforting weight settled in his lap took most of his focus while the tanuki excitedly told him how the mandragoras almost doubled in number recently. The brief bit of worry that crossed the smaller boy's face earned him a small smile from Sano. The reassurance that he would protect Mame should the mandragoras amass an army to take over the island left his best friend sighing in relief.

Shaking his head, Sano glanced around the room. Zashiki and Hijita were engrossed in a conversation he thought was about videogames. Nyuudou looked to be on his last nerve already with Mujina laughing next to him, only Akisame helping reign in his temper for the moment. And frankly he couldn't care less about what the others were up too, their conversations either too dull or too far away for him to listen too.

Just as he was about to turn his full attention back to Mame, a voice cut through the classroom. "Hey, where's sensei?" The talking died down to a soft murmur as the students glanced around the room. Sano himself followed Mame's curious gaze to the lectern where their teacher usually stood, that annoying strand of hair on top of his head bobbing with every move he'd make. But he was absent. Sano glanced towards the source of the voice, the cute girl with big doe eyes and her dark hair pulled into a ponytail tied with a bow. Utagawa, the resident gashadokuro, kept glancing between the lectern and the clock with worried eyes.

Following her gaze he looked at the clock. It had been thirty minutes already since the first bell rang and their homeroom teacher had yet to show. Though it was...odd...for the man to be so late, he didn't think much of it. Everyone had off days. For all he knew there had been a tv special on sailor uniforms in the morning and their idiot teacher had been too distracted to remember he had a job. Still, something gnawed at the back of his mind and weighed heavy in his gut. The feeling that something was wrong.

It made him shudder, the tremor unnoticed by all but Mame who was still seated in his lap. The tanuki had gotten strangely quiet as he watched the door expectantly. Whether it was to reassure himself or Mame, Sano didn't know, but still spoke up. "I'm sure he's fine. At worst the idiot chased a sailor uniform and ended up lost."

"Oh yeah! That's true." Akisame piped up, his ears shooting straight up and twin tails swishing. The unease on his face seemed to disappear to an extent, but he still seemed a bit unsure. It wasn't that long ago that they barely managed to save the man from dying in a fire. If he got into another incident like that...

"I can check the faculty lounge." Nyuudou offered as he stood from his seat with a sigh. He froze in place just as he took a step forward, head snapping to the open classroom door.

It wasn't their teacher who walked in though. The silver hair covering his right eye and single horn on his head could only belong to Miki-sensei from the class next door. He seemed put off for a moment with the class's collective attention pinned on him, but the fault in his steps was quickly covered as he approached the lectern himself. Now, Sano knew he would give them an explaination. He really did. But he couldn't stop himself from blurting out, "What did that idiot do now?" Mame peered up at him, knowing well enough that it was a show of concern. He avoided the tiny tanuki's gaze though and stared down the oni who came in their teacher's place.

"Ah, don't worry about that! He didn't get into any trouble. He's just feeling a bit under the weather today and opted not to come in." Miki-sensei waved a hand dismissively as he spoke, but the tension in the man's shoulders showed his worry for his the other. This went unnoticed by a lot of the class, their shoulders sagging as they slipped back into a more relaxed atmosphere knowing their teacher was not in immediate danger.

"I understand why Seimei-kun isn't here, but what about Ebisu-sensei?" Mame asked, standing in Sano's lap and waving his hand around in the air. For a brief moment, Sano thought he'd caught a hint of suspicion in Mame's tone but it passed so quickly he wasn't sure it had been real.

Without missing a beat, Miki added, "Abe-sensei took the lesson plan and your worksheets home last night so once we realized that, Ebisu-sensei had to go get them from the faculty dorms. He should be here in time for class." The explaination seemed to satisfy the boy as he plopped back into Sano's lap without much complaint. There was a long silence where Miki was left standing at the lectern awkwardly as the class watched him. It finally broke when he spoke again. "Well, if you have any questions feel free to find myself or another teacher. Abe-sensei will return to class shortly so there's no need to worry yourselves."

With everything said, Miki excused himself and left. Unease twisted Sano's gut at the shadow of concern crossing the oni's face. Something really was wrong, wasn't it?
