My gawds, that intro is amazing. And the gameplay itself? *chef's kiss* All of the references yes plz. I WANT THAT PHOTO OF THE ENTIRE AvM STICK GANG TO BE REAL. FRIK I just want you all to watch it, download it, enjoy it!

I may not play Rivals of Aether (my laptop is a potato & will likely explode if I ever try to actually play games on it), but I've always loved the designs of the base characters and especially the inclusion of some of my fave Indie+ characters (Ori from Ori and the Blind Forest/Will of the Wisps was what really got me to take a peak at the game in the 1st place, and only recently have I started taking notice of other characters like friggen Yoyo from olde RHG animations <3 )

In collaboration with @crustyclarinet, we've modded Yuuko from Nichijou in Rivals of Aether steam workshop as a fighter! She is quite ordinary, but her brand of ordinary may surprise you, as it includes objects falling from the sky and german suplex command grabs!

Me and my friend VVizard have collaborated to develop and release Miles Edgeworth from the Ace Attorney series as a custom Steam Workshop fighter in Rivals of Aether!

In his incessant search of the truth, Edgeworth prosecutes the competition equipped with the almighty power of facts and logic (and chess), as well as the help of his trusty assistants, the bumbling detective Dick Gumshoe, and the Great Thief Yatagarasu herself, Kay Faraday.

There’s this fighting game I love playing on Steam called Rivals of Aether why am I bringing it up? Well, I really would love to see more PMD Steam workshop content for this game! I hope anyone who is interested in making workshop content for Rivals of Aether will do some more PMD content!

So one of my hobbies is making stages for Rivals of Aether. I started off making stages using pre-existing tilesets but I've slowly gotten used to doing them from scratch.

I've compiled a complete collection of everything I've done up to this point. Hope you enjoy!

Rivals of Aether: I'm Late!

I picked up Rivals of Aether a minute ago, inspired by watching a stream of Steam Workshop characters.

Rivals is a Smash Bros clone on Steam with an emphasis on furries. It's one of the games that tries to be Melee 2, which I don't care about. My hands are too old and slow to handle that level of play so I initially gave Rivals a pass.

But I do care about playing as cool characters, and with the Steam Workshop, the game essentially turns into Smash Bros With Infinite Characters. Somehow I never picked up on that.

I must have assumed mod characters weren't usable online. That's partly true, but if you pick the dedicated workshop modes, you can use any character both players have downloaded.

So now I have online Smash with 400+ characters, and lots of them are great. Sora is in, and he has access to several Drive forms. Dan Backslide is playable, with a runabout to steal and a drunkenness meter. Phoenix Wright is playable with a moveset inspired by Marvel vs. Capcom.

There are some elaborate OCs as well. Recently, a character named Wes has been gaining popularity. He's a coder that can program his own moveset during the battle.

I usually lose because the game's been out for years, but the mod characters are so much fun, I don't really care. I should have gotten in on this sooner! Now Rivals 2 is coming out, but it's a 3D game so it'll be crap for mods.

I mention this because I might make some characters of my own. Building a Smash Bros character is essentially a dream come true. It takes lots of art, but early attempts have been positive. Wish me luck...
