🙏💰The LONG LONG road to recovery, with baby steps!!❤️ Hey legends,

✅Quick update from me — I’m doing really well and feeling stronger every day. In fact, I’ve now taken up doing 100 sit-ups a day. That’s right. ONE. HUNDRED. DAILY. My abs are starting to think I’m training for a Marvel movie, but really I’m just trying to sit up without sounding like an old couch spring.
✅On a more serious note, while recovery is going well (and I’m grateful beyond words), I’m still facing ongoing medical costs. Rehab, treatments, and the million other little things that come with a brain injury recovery journey add up faster than my dodgy old DJ playlists.
✅If you’re able to donate, even a little, it really helps me keep moving forward — quite literally. Thank you so much to everyone who’s supported me already. You’ve helped me come a long way.
Sending you love, gratitude, and sore abs, Ash
P.S. This is not ny cat… she's a friend of a friend's cat who was just had the myst dope cattitute… and I wanted to share this moment with he,r she's called Nala the housecat

26/05/2024. Oh my goodness, I am inside my own four walls, waking in my own bed and relaxing in my own chair and it is just wonderful! Okay, so I only got home on Wednesday evening and have to visit the hospitals in Paris and Troyes over the next few months but who gives a fig, I will say it once again, I AM HOME 😁.
The beautiful card, pictured, was made for me by a friend in the UK, she had hoped it would arrive before I went into hospital, however it was a wonderful surprise to receive it when I returned.
My garden, which I had been longing to see, is still waiting for the gardener to arrive with his mower. He now assures me it will be Monday or Tuesday, it really needs to be otherwise I may need a goat to clear “the pasture”.
The irises are all dead now, I did a little dead heading yesterday. There was a weed (it wasn’t there before I left) which, if left, could have grown into a tree. However the root system was not deep and I removed that very easily. I noticed that one of the hellebores was flowering and am praying that when the gardener does arrive that he doesn’t mow over the top of it too. The œillets (pinks/carnations) are starting to flower and I really would like to try and reclaim my borders which are full of weeds and grass. The cherry tree has the most cherries on that I have ever seen, my neighbour tells me they are not ripe yet, I think by the time they are the birds will have eaten the majority. Noticed a blackbird in the tree gorging itself on them. I need to take things slowly and so I will need to, eventually, do a little bit at a time.
My peonies have not flowered again this year (well they are only young). On Thursday I took a telephone call which was from one of the florists in town. She said she had a delivery for me 🤔 I thought, who would be sending me flowers? The bouquet arrived, six beautiful pinky/white peonies oh my goodness who had sent them? I read the card that was with them and promptly burst into tears. The bouquet was from “The Trainee Solicitor” and “The Reconnect Navigator”. What a wonderful surprise 🥲.
Anie had been shopping for me on Wednesday and kindly brought the shopping down around 8pm. She also brought me a bunch of œillet from her garden. She hugged me (we both had masks on so I guess that was alright). Monique had volunteered her help, I just have to ask. Lots of people want to come and see me but until I get a programme of where I am and when, it’s a little difficult to organise. Well it is early days too I suppose.
The dietician had a laminated sheet on the back of the door in my room, it showed things that I was allowed to eat, on there were Mars bar, Twix and Kitkat. I have dreamt of Mars bars and Kitkats, still not had one but think I may treat myself next week.
Yesterday was the BBQ for the association, of which my knitting group is part. I received a photo and was totally surprised to see that numbers have dwindled so much that everyone attending seemed to be just around one table. it looked as if there were only 14 people in total. it really is quite sad as before Covid the groups seemed to have such a large number of members.
It was a full five days work last week for “The Trainee Solicitor” and “The Reconnect Navigator” so this long weekend (Bank Holiday Monday) is going to be a nice break again. There were plans afoot to sort out the garden hedge etc but not sure if that got started yesterday although grass seed (?) had been purchased so it may have found it’s way from the box to the ground by now 😉. “The Reconnect Navigator” had been and had her nails “done” and very nice they looked too.
“The Photographer” has been to London for a few days. He went to meet up with a guy he had worked with. He had a good time but didn’t appear to do as much as had been mooted. He visited his Aunt and Uncle too which was another nice visitor for them. He has got a few irons in the fire with his photography so that is interesting. His children are away on holiday with their Mum and Grandad who is visiting from Vancouver!
“The Jetsetter” back from her adventures in Vancouver, has been back at work. It won’t be for much longer though as another holiday is beckoning.
Onto the music slot this week, I am reminiscing over holidays long gone but memories are wonderful things. Numerous visits to Sousse in Tunisia, nights spent in “La Grotte” disco, taking over the dance floor to tracks like “I Surrender” by Rainbow, released in 1981 or the song I loved so much from 1976, “If You Leave Me Now” by Chicago.
It’s Fetes des Meres here today (as it is in a number of countries) so I am happy with my Mother’s Day present of the beautiful peonies. Well they were really to wish me well on the road to recovery but have been given a dual purpose now.
Bon Dimanche

Today has been a real rollercoaster in my life. Just found out that someone I've been close to has been battling addiction for the past year – a revelation that hit me like a ton of bricks. It's a tough pill to swallow when someone you care about has been keeping such a significant part of their life hidden.
So here I am, suddenly thrust into the role of caretaker, tasked with helping them get sober. No room for negotiation or opting out – just a sudden responsibility that I never saw coming. It's like being handed the manual for a job I never applied for.
The whole process is like navigating uncharted waters. Dealing with withdrawal, mood swings, and the ups and downs of recovery feels like I've become a pseudo-parent overnight. There's no handbook for this, just a constant learning curve and a lot of patience.
Days blend together in a mix of hope and frustration. Seeing the physical toll of withdrawal and enduring the emotional rollercoaster tests my patience and resolve daily. I'm essentially playing the role of both partner and caretaker – a dynamic I never thought I'd find myself in.
As the days go by, I'm forced to confront a range of emotions. Anger and disappointment lurk in the background, but I've got to shove them aside to be the support they need. It's a tricky balancing act, maintaining strength and empathy even when faced with the brunt of their mood swings.
Yet, amid the struggle, there are these small victories that keep me going. Witnessing the gradual transformation and the reemergence of the person I knew is both reassuring and heartbreaking. It's a messy, complex journey that's testing my limits, but I'm determined to see them through it.
This unexpected turn of events has taught me a lot about resilience, patience, and the intricacies of unconditional love. The scars from the past year might linger, but there's a shared triumph in overcoming this adversity that has the potential to redefine our relationship and open the door to a brighter, sober future.

He howled and pulled her closer, attempting to wipe the drink off his hair. His hair, that he had just washed. He punched her across the cheek.
“YOU STUPID BITCH! And those Camp Jupiter shirts are hard to replace! I have to wait weeks for a new one now! And I don’t think this will wash off, so here’s a taste of your own medicine, pretty girl!” Rey finally had a chance to show off his retractable claws.
His claws shot out and he tore Valentine’s shirt - not completely, but it was a large rip.
“Take that!” Rey stood, waiting to see if she would try anything else - he was ready to tear that pretty hair right off like weeds from a lawn.
open starter, anyone can interact!
[please interact lol everything but nsfw allowed, minus gore, blood, and other tw.]
camp half-blood was bustling with activity, everyone going about their daily activities and being loud and happy as usual. except there was a swarm of bees stuck in the demeter cabin and somehow the stolls got ahold of phones, but otherwise, everything was amazing.
down at the aphrodite cabin, everyone was either lounged about in soft pajamas and carefully put-together clothes or were hurrying to get ready. others, the stronger type, were training or going for a run or something.
however, tonight there was going to be a huge party at the dionysus cabin. i’m talking booze, deafening music, and the fact that everyone attending was going to get caught one way or another.
the hermes cabin stole some booze from gods know where, the dionysus kids getting to work on making wine and setting up their cabin to indefinitely get utterly trashed, a few people had woken up early today to get a head start on getting ready despite the fact that the party was at 9, and somehow the hephaestus cabin had locked up the cleaning harpies in some contraption.
later that night.
the party was in full swing, the dionysus cabin crowded with sweaty campers and the heavy smell of alcohol and cigarette smoke. it was a miracle chiron hadn’t woken up or some snitch camper had told on them yet.
as you attempted to weave through the crowd, you bump right into a taller girl with silky auburn hair and glittery makeup. her drink dumps all over your shirt, leaving you sticky and your outfit ruined. she gasped, whipping around to see who she’d ran into.
“oh my gods! i’m so sorry, your shirt!” she exclaimed, covering her mouth with one hand as her very drunk blonde friend laughed lazily from behind her. the girl was very clearly from the aphrodite cabin, hair curled and every piece set perfectly by too much hairspray and an outfit that screamed ‘i want attention!’.
what do you do?
