RoboJack 3.0 Phoenix!AU

Jack noticed that every new RoboJack he created was a time bomb of betrayal, so he took a different approach when creating RoboJack 3.0

His first jackbot, made with his mother's juicer, was always loyal to him, like any other jackbot. And since he could really use the upgrade, decided to give him the opportunity.

RoboJack 3.0 has remained loyal so far, and doesn't seem interested in rebelling to Jack, not just because of the love for his master, but because he sees the other jackbots as his brothers and sisters.

Maybe when Jack rules the world there will be a place for him to discover his own identity.

OK Rhacktober challenge: I was going to do Rhys and roboJack physically together for the 'heat' prompt, but after several failed attempts I changed tack and went for robojack phoning up Rhys's brain from a few km away for a bit of one-on-one time.

picture this: Megatron begins singing a glorious war rally song to his Decepticons (a la Scar in Be Prepared). His voice fades to the background, and in the foreground there’s this video montage of Optimus Prime (courtesy of Laserbeak) going off by himself to really reconsider his Life after losing half his friends in THE WAR.

then he starts working out like he’s the main character in an anime. I’m talking pulling parking garages around, benchpressing abandoned bridges, getting absolutely roboJACKED. How can robot get jacked? they shed their exoskeleton and grow back stronger, don’t worry about it.

then he rounds up the straggling autobot survivors. They train together for battle. They drove strong bonds not just as soldiers, but as family. and they prepare to face the Decepticons who have taken control of earth, for one last stand. Will they be victorious? Probably not. Some omnipotent sense tells us that the Decepticons will win. But it was an epic montage.

I feel like someone should have mentioned that roboJack was the Jack that Karkat had a rapport with and maybe that could have been exploited. But no, Vriska thinks he’s useless, because he’s not as good a fighter as the rest, and therefore everyone, including himself, thinks it. It sucks. Also shows some unaddressed Alternian mindsets, I think.

So you know how RoboJack is programmed to be like Jack, so he always ends up betraying him and demeaning him?

One of the reasons Jack keeps betraying people is because he's afraid of failing them and he because he feels worthless. It could just be that RoboJack probably just does this cause being a jerk has been programed as one of his personality traits, but what if there's another reason?

What if RoboJack also has a worthlessness complex programed into him, but due to him still being a machine and not human, he processes and expresses it differently? What if, instead of hating himself directly, he hates Jack, because he is Jack? Just a thought. 🌿🐉

I was planning a character bio in the style of all the others but honestly the pose I had sketched for him in the lineup is identical to this and I don't feel like drawing it again. So, here's RJ's bio for the AU!

NAME: RJ (formerly known as RoboJack)

AGE: 6

OCCUPATION: Superior lifeform; Future Ruler Of The World

LIKES: Winning, gloating, being evil, other robots

DISLIKES: humans in general and Jack Spicer in particular

SIGNATURE MOVE: Subjugating the meatbags

BIO: Built by Jack Spicer in his own image, RoboJack was meant for great things. Unfortunately, Jack lost interest in evil not long after creating him, leaving RoboJack to languish for years as nothing more than a string of code deep in Jack’s hard drive. Back in his old body, he’s got a gigantic (computer) chip on his shoulder and a ravenous appetite for revenge. He’s dropped his old name due to its association with his creator - he’s determined to establish himself as his own entity, rather than a copy of someone else. Now, he’s just RJ - and he’s ready for world domination.

Thinking about an AU where Jack is a runaway Grimwalker for TOH. Heckin. Last time I talked about it, it was semi spoilery so I didn’t talk much. But like:

cuts off his sigil hand n replace w robotic prosthetic baybe; he just was too paranoid his uncle would find him through the sigil somehow. Or use it against him.

wanted power for himself ISNT exactly sympathetic as he is a man who ran when he realized he was destined to be used and tossed aside;

Green Monkey Staff (stolen, spoiled, coveted, very smart—- likes Jack anyway cause Jack treats em good, but can be snappy cause Jacks desires are finicky); Loves beast, illusion and plant magic. (Beast for animal love; illusions for theatricality; plants cause he’s half plant and xs he got villain gardens monthly BAYBE).

Dyed hair for hiding purposes; Lots of black clothes not just for being shady n goth, but because it’s the opposite of the Emperors Coven. Who he sees as ‘pretend good’ (but with his moral assumption that good and evil are just labels for How You Carry Out Your Goals: by the book or not. So by deciding to be a wild witch he sees himself as Structurally Evil but snrk. Hes more like. Slightly vigilante).

Jack has been a clone before in XS (GJ, RoboJack, The Ring of Nine— bET Hes proceeded by Good Jack snrk);

One of the best Grimwalkers for tech and tinkering. Almost thought Jack wOULDNT be into magic cause when he was young he so admired the power he and his uncle had to wield power without the biological privileges; technology was magic enough to him for a time.

He’s an immature person cause he was raised in an emotionally neglectful setting and was being purposefully manipulated for goals other than ‘make a well rounded person with balanced world views’. Raised to believe he was special, destined for greatness, then finding out someone was trying to use him for their own means with no intention of you living… maybe didn’t even find out about the clone thing til he was on his own.

Maybe he ran away cause he found a new Master. Found that box with the ghost of a wild witch trapped inside, told not to touch it, but nobody could solve it until he tried. But he knew he’d be in trouble. But Wuya owes him a Boon. Perhaps she stole the staff for him. She tells him things, aims to use him to usurp his uncle, but ofc, Jacks never been easy to Control after a certain point (that vibe of disillusionment in his trust in his allies). He still honors her wishes from time to time, but he isn’t the one who eventually turns her human (just like in xs) but he dOES help turn her back into a ghost (like in XS). Probably ends up running away with her box again though and not letting anyone else have it. Very much a heirloom now.

Lives in the toes. Just like Caleb Bloodwilliams.
